    Default Favorite restaurants?

Since I'm going to start traveling a lot starting October till April for work.

What's your favorite restaurant in your area. Can be low key or swanky.

    Mine are:

Boston - MOO, Grill 23, Abe and Louie's, Strega
    Providence - Camille's, Haruki, Flemming's, Capital Grill, Capricco's

    Jameson's, everything's great there, 3 locations, Buffalo Grove, Mt Prospect, & I don't know the 3 one
    so far that's it..
Gotta go with Portillo's for my beefs.

If you like deep dish pizza, I'd suggest Connie's...love it!

    Olive Garden!!!

    LOL, j/k.

There's an awesome Italian place in my area called Wheatfields. Make their own pasta fresh daily and everything. Superior quality ingredients...never had a meal that was less than perfect.

There's a place called Creo near me, too, that's sort of hard to describe. It's a Green restaurant, though, solar panelling and really clever ways to light the place, like copper tabletops that reflect the LED lighting above. Always fantastic.

For Indian food, there's a place in Latham called Biryani and it is fucking fantastic. God, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it.

In Arkansas, there was a place called the Dixie Cafe that was fantastic. I always want to go there whenever I go home to visit. Good old-fashioned Southern food.

McAllister's holds a special place in my heart, partly because their spuds are FANTASTIC and partly because they do not exist anywhere near where I am now. Joe and I are going to Florida for a week tomorrow for a mini-honeymoon and I found a McAllister's down there. We are going as soon as we get off the plane in Tampa.

Along the same line, for chain places, I love Uno Chicago Grill. They don't have them down south and I'm going to miss them like crazy.

as for chain restaurants I'm obsessed with panera bread and cheesecake factory <3

Try Cella Bistro in Schenectady. They put Wheatfields to shame. CIA trained executive chef. Enjoy!

Well, its not as good as dining at an Italian restaurant in a heavily-Italian area like RI. We have a couple of them here in the area but people who've lived here for years know they can do a lot better elsewhere and would probably have to pass a half-dozen such places on the way to Olive Garden..

In south FL theres a resteraunt called The Old Key Lime House. Its on the water and its FLs oldest waterfront resteraunt. I worked there when I was way younger. I LOVE their food.

My all time favorite place to eat is Pei Wei. They had them in FL, but up here in PA they only have two, and they are far from me, all by the city. Its owned by PFchangs, and they have more thai type foods. Its sooooo damn delicious. Everytime I drive to the airport I stop there.

Out here in the PA burbs, my fav place is Los Aztecas. Its the most authentic mexican place I can find out here. I LOVE south american and island food. I would do anything for a good cuban place to open up around here. God do I miss FL food

I'm looking for a good seafood place here in Atl. Being from Fl, its hard to find quality. I have a Flemming's right around the corner from my building, I like it.

I used to love really nice restaurants, but it's been a while since I've visited one--different priorities I guess.

My favorite meal in a restaurant is an excellent oriental chicken salad at a place called Cheeseburgers in Key West.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Completely agree with choice of Legal Sea Food.

As for my suggestions, I'll take a different tack. Everyone should have tucked away some good 24 hr/ solid after hour places to eat (besides obvious Vegas choices or the usual greasy spoons. Some of mine:

Kettle- Manhattan Beach, CA- A 24/7 type of place a few blocks from pier, and a definite notch above the usual.

13 Coins- Near Seatac Airport- Open most of time except for 1 or 2 hour window. Had a good filet mignon ~ 2am there a few years ago.

Great food can come from any restaurant but a place you want to go hang out & have great food with great company is different.
