best of luck to you. I might go back to school and if I do I will be posting in this thread a lot. The town I live in is pretty small so I'm assuming that I'll run into some customers at school / some students at work. Whatever, I'll take their money and run

I hope that you can find a balance though

I'm thinking of going to business school but I keep saying to my boyfriend "maybe they're just GIVE me the degree because I'm thinking of my business in NOT wanting to go to school. You know, they'll reward me for having good business practices!" He didn't think that would fly though.

I was not able to get my transcripts in time for this semester, so I applied again for Jan. classes. I'm happy and anxious to start, but I know it will be so difficult. I can't just pass my classes, I have to get the highest possible GPA to get accepted into the program I want.

I've been balancing stripping + school for a year now and was never able to work nights with morning classes. If you can make it through the semester 3x a week doing that, you are a superwoman!

I will be here for you! As much as I want to get these classes knocked out, I haven't been in school for years so who knows how much brain cells were lost in that time. I'm taking a full time course load, and no more until I get back in the swing of things. So I'll need encouragement next semester too.

I'm taking 16 hours this Fall, all online, just finished 6 hours of summer school and have a 4.00 GPA as of now! I would LOVE to keep this up! I wish there was a way to dance and not drink....

omg this thread is going to be my new hoooome lol i love talking about school! Mostly because my relationship with it is so love hate. Love the field I'm taking, have a lot of beef with how the program is delivered. However I can say, that this summer was so dull that I am cheerfully looking forwards to starting classes again! I'm apprehensive about dancing though because it's so shitty sometimes where I go to school. It was so nice to spend the summer working in a clean club though. Whatever, my goal this year is to just start a routine, always work at leas one day a week that is the same (thursdays, fridays, etc), I want some regulars, having a hard time geting some, hoping that the consistency will help!

Girl..... I went back this Summer... the first time since 2003!!! You would be surprised at how easy it is once you are older and more mature, I have a completely different mindset now.

I dropped out (unrelated to stripping) but wanted to offer support and say it can be done! I remember doing my organic chemistry homework at Spearmint Rhino LV circa 2007, because between working as hard as I could, attending school, raising my sister and life in general, I had no other time to do it. Despite all those setbacks, I maintained a 3.8 GPA and paid all my school off cash, and have no debt.

It's not only possible, it's worth doing. Stripping can be a bad ass stepping stone and facilitate financing a lot of things for your future if you play your cards right. I applaud all of you making school your priority and working your asses off for it. Even now, it thrills me to hear one of my girls is going to school to better her future.

Oh! Tips for dancing nights and going to school in the mornings!

    1) Come in a touch early, leave a touch early. If you're due in at 8, come in at 6. You'll catch the end of the day crowd, and you can leave around 1 before the drunk ass crazies come in. Additionally, ask you manager to call you in on days they have less girls. He or she will be more apt to work with you. I know at mine and my husband's clubs, this certainly rings true!

    2) Don't drink, but if you do, drink smart. Vodka and red bull is a classic example of upper plus downer that's hard on your system. Sip drinks line champagne (which takes forever to drink) or low calorie drinks, like rum and diet. Always sip, don't pound. Ask your bartender to make you fake shots; in ATL I'd ask for "tequila ", which was water with a touch of tequila floated on top to make it smell real, if guys asked. Refrain from soda; drink lots of water, or soda water or tonic- they're easy to pass off as mixed drinks. Keep your electrolytes up! A bottle of Gatorade can save you the next morning.

    3) Nap when you can. I'm not in school right now but my work is currently grueling. Laying down for even half an hour when you can will help your lucidity.

    4) Watch your diet! Lots of B12 and beta carotene, protein too. If you're like me and hate eating in the morning, invest in a blender, veggies and fruits, and some protein powder. You can't use your brain if you don't fuel it!

    5) Bring your homework to work, or study materials. Couple slow hours or a lull in between customer rushes? Use your dressing room time wisely. Bring headphones and put lectures on your iPod to listen to while you get ready. It helps.

    6) It seems shameless, but tell your customers you're in school! Guys love the school girl thing (obviously), but I had a signifcant number of unexpected guys buy dances because they thought it was "going to a good cause". You'd be surprised! Obviously not all customers will go for if, but you educated ladies can feel them out.

    7) Go to bed clean. I can't stress this enough. Waking up in leftover stripper hair and makeup is just ICK when you get up, and made me feel transparent amongst my college peers. Using a lavender scrub helped soothe for bed, wind down and wake up refreshed.

Speaking of bed, get a comfy bed and good sheets. Don't watch tv or anything to fall asleep. The more comfy you are and make your room a sanctuary, the more quality rest you'll get.

    9) Finally, the thing I had the most trouble with: don't be afraid to ask for help! A support system is absolutely necessary! Non judgemental friends, family members if possible, good professors. If you have a good relationship with your manager, tell them about your situation; you'll get a lot of leeway. Even though you're all awesome, no one can do it alone.

hope all this helps and wasn't redundant. Just had a great night and am feeling positive!

Planning on going back full time in January, hopefully I'll get a few credit courses this semester coming up, but I'm not too sure. Either way, this thread is going to be a big help. It's nice to see so many other ladies both working and going to school. Wishing you all great study-vibes!

I'm about to start my second year of grad school, so it is so nice to have a support thread like this! And as far as working the college girl angle, it is one of the first things I mention to customers. I feel like it really does make them more willing to spend on you (at least most of them).

Oh does it ever! It's great for older men since they feel like they're getting a dance for a good cause (and if they're alumni fro your school then it's pretty much instant rapport) and it's good for younger guys who are either in school or recently graduated because they get how expensive schooling can be. Of course, you're bound to encounter at least one disbelieving customer who has heard from too many girls that they're college students when they're really not (and can you blame em? It is a good hustle!) and doesn't believe it.

Yeah drinking will be what I have to watch out for. I've been doing much better, plus I'll be at a club that stop serving liquor hours before quitting time, so that will help.

It was 06 or07 for me if I remember correctly. Can't think on it too hard cause I get pissed at myself for dropping out. Just happy to be going back despite the mountain to scale. I have myself to impress and others to astonish when I graduate.

thank FUCK this is the thread i need!
i have a really heavy load [fashion design-unlikely but true], have 4 full days of school and 3 nights at work.

im often sick [like right now] and i had exhaustion in the last week of the last semester. i just couldnt bring myself to thread up a sewing machine and if i didnt lie down i felt i was gonna pass out.
i often bring technical drawing stuff to the DR but its hard to concentrate, id rathr just do shorter hours. my current nights are fri sat sun but i might change it to sat sun so i dont have to work late on a school night or fri sun so im not doing nights in a row.

i wish i only had to study notes and read textbooks, a lot of the load is 'doing stuff' so missing three days due to illness this week set me back one bustier and a shirt i have to make, along with 30 technical drawings and a photoshop exercise.

i really wanna drop out or kill self etc the only thing keeping me in is knowing every day im at school is a day closer to the day i dont have to dance.

    im also surrounded by morons.
FUCK YEAH finally retired after 6 years dancing!!

A guy I danced for was in one of my classes. He was older though, mid forties. Nice enough, we talked outside of class. I didn't mind. I get worried that other people will recognize me on campus though, I don't want to be called out infront of friends

Do a search for "Charlie's Guide to Stripping Through College." I would link it, but the thread won't open for me.

It's different than the topic in this thread, but still relevant.

But, my plan is to work at the club on my days off and on nights when I don't have class.
