    Default Getting life straightened out

From the time I started dancing, I could hear the clock ticking; the average dancer retires at 28. I'm 22, which gives me 6 years until statistics say my career will be over. Now, don't get me wrong...I've seen some drop dead beauties in the industry, who surprised me when they revealed themselves as middle aged. But, the point is, I want to have a foundation set up, and that's why I'm creating this post.

I have a baby face; most people guess my age as around 15-17 outside of work. Yeah, seriously...and the big tattoo on my arm doesn't even give them a hint. So I could probably keep a somewhat youthful appearance well into my 30's, especially since I take pretty good care of myself. But what will happen after that?

I make a point to NOT live beyond my means. I'm all about saving, being smart and putting my money to good use. Yes, I COULD go buy a fancy sports car, or live in a luxury suite, or have a lot of plastic surgery....but those things are temporary, and if I just invest into something worthwhile, I could have a very comfortable lifestyle after I retire. My point is, I'm trying to figure out my path after dancing is done, and wondered if any retired ladies have any advice. I would like to look into putting money into mutual funds, but mainly I want to base a future career off of the cash I'm pulling now. I'm a writer, and plan to use this to fund self publishing. I've also considered managing a club or other adult related industry. Any ideas?

I'm definitely interested in the responses you'll get from this thread! I, too, am using dancing as a means of funding a few of my own dreams outside of stripping & investing - eager to see the advice given here

You are truly unique and your life purpose can only be discovered by you.....

What do you love to do? What are you passionate about? Your friends and family are good people to ask because they know you but still it is up to you to decide...

Sounds like you are on the right track and have the right thinking.... With determination and passion...... and a great foundation and money.. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE

Keep doing your thing.... and let it be what it is.... It may take time to figure out what exactly it is you will be doing, its a process and you may change your mind a few times!
    Stay true to yourself....

and yes there is the stripper retirement age but age aint nothing but a number... nobody knows your situation better than you so what one girl does or for how long and when doesnt necesarilly apply to you

just keep making money, doing what you are doing..... and keep finding and learning about yourself and the rest will work itself out

Truthfully, some "luxury purchases" can be investments too. Example, Plastic surgery can help u to make more money dancing and u can also use this looks "investment" in other looks based industries as well such as bartending, porn, etc in case u get tired of dancing and want to try somethin new at least for a lil while.

And no u don't need a big expensive flashy sportscar, but if u don't have good credit established (which is a MUST if were talking getting the most outta ur money!!), a car loan can go a long way to helping u accomplish good credit. Doesn't have to be a flashy car tho, a car loan for a modest Kia or ford focus will do. Pay off a 6 yr car loan in 1-2 yrs and ur credit skyrockets...i did this in the past, i should know. and on top of helpin u build credit fast, it'll be a car that's generally more reliable then most $1500 cars bought off a craigslist ad, thus reducing money needed for repairs and/or work callouts/latenesses due to car probs.

Financially u have great intentions and seem to be on the rite track, just remember u don't have to be "penny wise"'and sacrifice a few selectively chosen nice things in order to get ahead
