Default Pilot killed in airshow crash

    http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage...how-crash.html

A pilot has been killed just after performing with his team in an annual airshow festival in my hometown. Its such sad news, he was so young. The event is a really big deal for the town, we get about 200,000 visitors and at work a lot of the girls get dressed up in themed outfits etc for the weekend.

Its awful news and I really wish I'd gone to watch the performance today (I could hear it from my house) instead of planning to go tomorrow. Now I've missed my chance.

Hey girl....I live in the same town....the aircraft fly right over my house (literally) as they go out to sea over Christchurch Bay. Yes - it is tragic. Apparently this is the first EVER fatal crash for the Red Arrows.

Wow small world! Yeah 1st fatality in almost 50 years, so sad especially as he was so young. What with that and the crazy rain on Thursday, this years event has had a lot of problems

^ Yeah - the rain was wild. I was actually trying to get to the opticians on Thursday, and met a whole pile of stationary traffic at Tuckton - then I got turned back by the police when I went up past the Hospital.....

Didn't know then, that Bournemouth Centre was under 2 feet of water...!
