    Default Oh, Irony...

So I dance to rock music, and one of my favorite sets is "Awake and Alive" and "Hero" by Skillet.

I just now found out Skillet is a Christian rock band. They are singing about accepting Jesus and how he holds them up, etc. in the first song.

I am not Christian. I also work in a nude club.

Oh, Irony. Most church goers I speak with are very against strippers and showing kitty to random strangers.

I just find this kinda funny.

Same here, I dance to those songs in a set regularly.

I knew they were a Christian band, who cares. They are mainstream now--people like mainstream music.

I've heard Miley Cyrus music played in the SC too, it is what it is!

Oooh, I had never heard of them (I guess being heathen and all ) But you know what? They sound great for one, and for two...the lyrics are not overtly Christian message...

The great thing about music is it is an art...and like most art, it can mean something different to different people, no matter what the artists intention, background, beliefs, etc are.

The only thing I really took from their lyrics is that its uplifting and positive...while rocking out at the same time I say...let the music move ya hehe!

Being Christian doesn't mean one is prudish, against strippers, etc. The judgemental type yes but there are many Christians in the world. There are also Christian rock bands who don't judge.

Right! ^ There was another Candadian band, who claimed to be Christian & wasn't supposedly..can't think of their name, I think they had a song, "rock star". Sometimes I hear something I like on the radio, then realize it's a religious station, I'm like O..but it sounds good.

^^that's why I said "most", not all. I just found it funny and ironic that a non-christian exotic dancer would be getting naked to a christian rock band.

It's creepy, but Christian bands unknowingly make some of the sexiest rock music. I think it's because they fantasize doing to God what I fantasize doing to Adam Levine.

Evanescence used to be a Christian rock group right? And Flyleaf?

Its Canadian, and I believe the band is called Nickelback.

Exactly. The band Creed is a perfect example of this. Ever seen the video for "higher"?

    *nods* Mmhmm!

Never knew that Nickleback was Christian Rock. Never would have guessed. Wonder if Default is also considered Christian too, becasue they were backed by Chad Kroger for a while....they'd be considered Christian by ....default (LOLZ!!!!).

A lot of Christian metalcore bands are REALLY good.

And there are a TON of secretly Christian bands/songs out there. To the point that I'd say most girls who dance to varying forms of rock music unknowingly dance to Christian music.

    Case in Point.

Speaking of Nickelback, I always thought it was ironic how often they would play "next contestant" ITC. It's very explicitly about a guy who doesn't like that his gf is a stripper. It's seriously the worst song ever.
I think some dancers just like ANY song that has mention of strippers in it, even if it's not the in the most tasteful fashion. Boggles my mind too.

Apparently Megadeath are Christian as well. Doing some googling ATM. Lots of bands call themselves "Christian Rock". I guess because they figure being Christian = music they make is Christian rock?

LoL Megadeth is not a Christian band...I just googled too and everything I saw said them saying, even though a couple of the band members are Christian, the music is not based on their faith or about Christianity.

I guess it would be a bit like saying The Beastie Boys put out Jewish Music.

Actually Creed never really called themselves "christian rock". The members of the band were all Christian and most of their songs were centered around theology and Christian philosophy but the band hesitates to call themselves "christian rock"

I guess I can understand that as a musician one does not want to limit themselves to one specific genre.

I liked the song Higher, but what irritates me is the video. All the guys seem to be having some spiritual awakening based on the look on their faces (a deep entranced sort of look) and introverted attitude, despite being surrounded by sexy girls. The girls on the other hand seem to have a more shallow disposition in the video and are from what it seems interested in getting the guys in bed.

It kind of reminds me of those dudes that come into strip clubs to have a business meeting and ignore all the women in the club. Assholes that are not there for the women and treat us more as decoration. You know, the dudes that don't even look at us? The dudes that look like idiots and make you wonder why they are even in the club in the first place?

Check out how in the beginning of the video it zooms in on all the guy's faces. They all seem to be having some type of spiritual moment and some deep thinking going on.

Then check out what the girls are doing. It seems like they are "groupies" that are shallow and only want to "fuck a rockstar".

    *Grits Teeth*

I can't describe my loathing for these men in words. My blood boils when they act haughty and uppity and rude because I'm interrupting their meeting at a SC.

Yeah, it's my first time watching that video, and I can see what you mean. It makes the women in the video look one-dimensional..... and the band members are acting bored and disinterested in the women as if they're "above" that level of superficiality.... Because obviously, us chicks are lowly and lacking too much substance to understand their deep, complex relationship with God.

Then again, compared other music videos, it's pretty harmless....

But at 1:33 in that video it zooms in on Scott Stapp's mouth. For that one second it made me wonder how good he is at oral sex and if he eats chics out. My perverse little mind does that often. Whenever I see a guys mouth in a music video I wonder how good he is at oral sex.

There is a Marilyn Manson video out there where Twiggy yells "I am the hydra!" and sticks his tongue out and it always makes me wonder how far that tongue can go up my pussy.

Funny thing is I don't really care for oral sex. I have never had an orgasm to a guy eating me out.

Maybe I am just a pervert, or perhaps I am just chic that lacks substance and is shallow.

This. Clearly. You're a total airhead type. No substance in the least, and no real brain to speak of. *

I have a regular that I share w/ another girl. He's gone through AA & everything else. He spends amazing money -he's also a minister & obviously goes into church every Sunday. Whether he was in the titty bar the night before or not. It does not say anywhere the Bible at all to my knowledge "Thou shall not look at boobies..."! Hahahah!
