    Default How to keep going

Okay so this is what happens to me pretty frequently: I make $300 to $400 dollars and instead of staying out on the floor and hustling, I either go hide in the dressing room or go home.

What the hell is wrong with me, right? I love the idea of going home with $700-$800 but I am never motivated enough to stay for my whole shift and hustle more custys.

What do you girls do when you reach your goal/quota for the day but you KNOW you should put in more effort so that you make more money?

    What do you do?

I make 80% of my money in the last 20% of the night. Which means that even if I've made loads by 2am, I'm probably gonna make a killing after that. Even if it doesn't always hold true, keeping that thought is great motivation.

How long are your shifts? Here there's a minimum of 5 hours which is what I usually work, sometimes I stay longer if it's busy and there's money to be made. Honestly, the money is enough motivation for me. If I've met my goal early in my shift, that just pumps me up to keep going and make even more, so I often set a second goal for myself to keep that energy going.

Breaks can be a godsend though when you start feeling that way. Take a few minutes in the DR to recharge, have a snack, play a game on your phone, whatever, and then hit the floor again. Don't wait until you're totally done with working, but take them every so often so you don't get to that point. It helps if you have some sort of goal (savings, tuition, vacation, car, etc.) since that'll motivate you to keep going when you've reached your goal. You can also motivate yourself with treats, like if you make more than your goal, you'll spend some of that on a new outfit, spa treatment, nice dinner, whatever it is that gets you going.

exactly!!!! same rang true for me back then.....end of the night cha-ching! also....at my club we had no schedule freedom like it seems all the girls do nowadays. we had true shifts...you went home early or didnt show...fined!!! so that is a motivation to stay as well lol.

Arrr I have the exact same problem, hate it. But yeah, take a break, rest your feet, text some friends, keep going. Set a new goal and promise yourself something special, like a new purse or wallet, trip to your favourite restaurant, buy that movie/book you wanted, go get a ridiculous nail design, etc with whatever extra money you make that night. If you really need to save, put aside half your extra money, but still do something nice for yourself since you did so well! Tonight I am going to follow my own advice!

Don't let your self go into the DR. Set a rule for yourself: after 9:00 (or whatever), you MUST stay out on the floor. Once you allow yourself that little break, you'll just keep taking more.

Another trick: set a rule that every dollar you make after a certain amount can go towards whatever you want, as long as you stay for a whole shift. But if you leave at any point before your shift ends, then you have to use ALL of your money for rent / food / savings...even if you stayed past when you'd usually stay.

Once you break $100, go for $200, then $300. I say once you hit $700 to do smaller, more attainable increments if the night is late--like I need to hit $750, now $800. That way you aren't setting your goal so high that it's near impossible (i.e. make $300 more in the last 10 minutes) but you are still motivating yourself to meet the next hundred.

Where I am we have to stay until our stages/podium dances are all done, which is approx. 8 hours after we start which helps a lot! Sometimes I see if I can do my last podium later so I force myself to stay the whole 10-11 hours.

Is it possible to get management to roster you on for a later podium so you're forced to stay the full shift?
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I never counted my money until the end of my shift. That way I wouldn't be as tempted to leave early, and I'd also be fired up because I knew I was doing well.

Don't give yourself a quota. My quota was to give 100% for as long as I could. If it was night shift, from the time I got there to close. If it was day shift, from time I got there til 5-6pm, but no earlier than 5.

If you do that and don't count your money, you will make more.

Well it's hard not to count it, but I like to have the same approach: give 100% till you can't anymore. Also: I use my previous earnings to bouy me into trying new things on people. Like being silly and not really even asking for a dance right away, maybe letting them get interested in me but then walking away. As if I'm so paid I don't have to hustle everyone. If the guys are sick of being asked by desperate chicks on their quota-tip it's appealling to find a fun loving girl who's in no rush with you...Basically, once you've earned a decent wage you can stop chasing them and try to get them chasing you!

I never count my money until I'm back at my house. It's really difficult to keep track of how much money you're getting over a five/six hour period of fairly frequent dances. I usually end up with way more than my "minimum goal." It helps because I constantly think that I'm making less than I really am so it motivates me to try my hardest throughout my shift.

    This.

Honestly, no one is going to be your boss when you're a stripper (unless you have a pimp). So if you can't handle pushing yourself constantly about something like staying on the floor, maybe you should reconsider your job.

I'm not trying to be a bitch but you have to be realistic. You're the only one who can force yourself to do anything and when you're a stripper, you have to constantly want to strive for more.

no matter how much I do per night, I always know that I can do better. It's never enough. Keep pushing.

I think of it as a game: you don't win unless your shift is over. Your prize is whatever amount you made that day/night

I don't know how some of you can stand not counting the monies! I always had to know how much I had to try to "bump" to next $100 mark ! I'd feel OFF if I didn't count it and know roughly what I had. I wasn't wasting time countingones ....I just mean super quick counting $20's and $100's . I just don't know how you have the self control to NOT count. Haha.

I always set two goals; what I want to make for the night and what I need to make for the night. If I have a big bill or costly purchase coming up I might NEED $700, but I might want $850. That way if I hit $730 and not $850 I'll still feel like I did "good", just not great. Then the next shift I work I'll be competitive with myself and try to do better.

    THIS.

Laurisa, I wish that we worked together. I think we would do well to hustle-compete-motivate each other. That is almost exactly how I think when I work.

i always feel more drained an like goin home when im doin naff all, when i hit goals, it makes me wanna do more, so hitting £2-£300 would make me wanna carry on. we aint sposed to leave early, so ya forced to stay anyway.

i think setting mini goals after ur main goal would help, like you hit your $600 mark, go for 650, the 750, thats what i do once ive hit £200.

    xx

For me, its a competive drive that keeps me going. I used to have the same problem, but now I'm occupying that fancy "top earner" slot and I looooove it. I'm a total arrogant bitch about it too...or at least I am in my own mind. I tell myself if I don't make more than the other girls, I didn't meet my goal. If you had to put a number on it, it would be somewhere around $600-800 week day and $1000 weekend. At my club, the average is around $200-500 for most of the girls. So it's a total ego boost to destroy my competition and motivates me to keep pushing. I also break it down by the hour...I try to pull $200 an hour on average. If I do better than thaton any given hour, I cut myself a little slack and take a break.

Another thing to think about is how you feel when you go home. If you're exhausted, hating work, completely burnt out, etc then worry less about banking and more about having a good, comfortable night. I always push myself past my limit and regret it afterward. You might even find that if you relax, you make a little more, because you're happier in general. This rarely proves true for me though...I've just managed to LOOK like I'm happy and laid back lol.

Find your motivator. Everyones different...I can't be pushed by the idea of treating myself because I already have a budget set aside for luxuries. Its the same as not being interested in a new car if you just bought a mercedes. But, you might find you're like me and get a thrill out of being at the top of the totem pole. Yes, its arrogant, pretentious and obnoxious. But humility never paid my bills damnit. Just standing next to these gorgeous women and thinking "oooh yeah, that's right biatch! Guys eat this shit up. They love them a piece of (insert name here.) I'm walkin out with a grand and, oh what's that? You made $100? Sucka!" Is such an AMAaAZiIIiNG feeling! Cause I'm an asshole like that. Go on. Be an asshole.

^ I totally relate to that! The only problem I had with using that strategy was that it burned me out much faster. It takes quite a bit of effort to stay on the top...and it puts a lot of pressure on you.
