Duh Help with audition and not getting the job?

Okay so I went in for my audition tonight, hair done, makeup, everything felt right, I practiced on my boyfriend a few times also and he LOVED it, I felt very confident. So I went on stage (first time ever) and the house mom told me to dance, but the DJ was talking at the time so I started talking to the girl right next to me confused about when to start. The house mom looks at us and says "what are you doing?! This is your audition!" It was so rude, but I was just confused about when to start. So I started and took of my clothes and everything, and found out I didn't get the job. She told us that "the talking probably didn't help our chances." So now I'm wondering should I go back and try in a couple days and be more serious about it? Or do you think she didn't like other things about me, or did I just ruin my chances completely?

Help please! I really want another chance!

    Thank you guys

I agree with the above post. I think that a lot of girls think that they are "bound" to one club which is just stupid. Try out a whole bunch and see how you really feel.

I agree with the other responses - try other clubs. Housemom sounds like a real bitch. Had a similar experience with one club I auditioned at, and decided right then that I didn't need to put up with fucking idiots. I ended up at a great club, where I'm making bank and enjoy dancing at.

I live in the Atlanta area though, and I wanted to work at a really nice upscale club, and it just seemed perfect, I've heard that all of the other clubs are a little trashier, and less strict, and that scares me a little bit.

I was thinking if I go back to audition at the upscale one (the cheetah) that I would do something different with my hair and outfit and dance moves and completely blow them away, I know I can! It wasn't so bad once I got up there. So all of you think I shouldn't try again?

No-one's telling you to not try again - go for it if you think you can pull it off. We're just telling you that the Housemom sounds like a bitch and will probably still be a bitch if you go back and try again, especially so soon. See if you can audition when she's not on duty.

Yeah you're right, I just have a hard time giving up. I think If I don't make it the next time I will try one of the less upscale clubs.

    Thanks everyone!

The reason why I say is not to go back yet.....is bc maybe if you wait a few weeks she will forget about you and wont remember you. If you go back now, right after the incident...she may be spiteful and not hire you. If you let some time blow over..she might forget all about it.

Talent doesn't always mean anything. Many times if someone just doesn't like you....they wont hire you.

keep in mind that stripping does not equal money. Especially right away.

    keep looking.

If you really need money right now, go to one of the less upscale clubs and start working there. Get your feet wet and earn some money for a month or two before you go back to the first club. If you give it some time, like it was mentioned, the housemom may forget about you. And, who knows, maybe you'll realize that the "less upscale" club is really not that bad and it's better than dealing with that bitch of a housemom. "Upscale" doesn't necessarily mean better money or better clients or atmosphere. And, as you've already discovered, at places that are considered "upscale" the management tends to suck since they know they could easily get anybody else in there. You may make just as much money somewhere else, and sometimes management is more important than reputation of the club.

I dunno. Ask a girl who doesn't make money. There are plenty of them out there. Perhaps I should have added an extra word so that people who can't put two and two together would be able to understand that just because you're a stripper, doesn't mean that you will make enough / a lot of money...

I've decided to go audition at one of the less upscale clubs this weekend. I'll let you guys know how it goes! Only thing I'm skeptical about is it's mostly younger guys going to be at this club/college kids that I might know in school, that is why I prefer the more upscale, because the clientele will be people I won't see at school. Oh well, we will see how it goes, I'm staying positive

Yea....instead of running into other students you will run into teachers! Haha

Actually....just bc its upscale...doesn't mean shit. All types of people go into different clubs for different reasons.

Im so sick of this upscale club crap. Upscale doesn't matter. Extras still go in in upscale clubs...girls still do drugs in upscale clubs...girls still make good money in regular clubs..and even damn dive bars. So stop worrying about this upscale club crap for now

Exactly ^ and since you are brand new to stripping, you should start somewhere not as nice and work your way up. Get your feet wet first.

I prefer in the middle to shady clubs, but that's just me I feel like I would be to fake in a higher end club. I like my blue Collard men.

the only thing that I like about upscale clubs is that they tend to be busier. I make WAY more money in lower end clubs.

Even if you prefer to work at an upscale place, auditioning at a few other clubs may help you out.
Other rejections give you more chance to ask what you need to change/improve to get hired... getting hired at other clubs give you a chance to make money while you work on getting hired somewhere more upscale.

I kind of had this "I'm too good to work anywhere else by an upscale gown club" attitude when I first started. I finally went one day to a club a step down, and I was like WTF was I doing all those months? This is soooo much better! My friends were all still working at the Lodge, giving me the same bitch attitude, "but I'm a Lodge girl, I don't work at those other clubs".... I was laughing all the way to the bank.... now a days I can go either place, the absolute nicest or the absolute most ghetto, and fit right in....

Yea and those kinds of strippers who don't make any money SHOULDNT. BE. STRIPPING. NOt only are they hindering themselves from persuing something better suited for them, but what kind of self respectin person continues to get naked for strangers for min wage or less per nite. And besides alotta times people who can't swing it as a stripper either don't have a good look and/or good approach and sales skills, and having a stripper that doesnt look and/or sell good (e.g., underselling dances, talking long time to nonspenders, etc) can bring down the money for other strippers.

I think the whole point was you can't walk into a strip club and expect to make instant cash....it takes time, money and know-how to do well. There's the cost of buying shoes, outfits, taxis, etc...it all adds up and the payoff isn't always immediate. Nowadays, I laugh at all the dumb shit I did as a newbie, especially the way I danced! and I had NO idea how to talk to customers, or that most of the money was in the champagne rooms....I honestly believed men would throw hundreds of dollars on stage to see my tits. BUT, I make hella money now.

I get so tired of hearing veterans bitch and moan when new girls walk in....if you're THAT good, they're not gonna hurt your money!

OP, don't sweat one failed audition. I've worked at every type of club you can imagine and the gown club was byfar the worst. The housemoms were nasty, tip-out was waaay too high, the bouncers were rude as hell and I was constantly badgered to look exactly like the other girls. (i.e, big hair and big tits.) The girls were total snobs..it just wasn't a good place. I personally find the middle ground the best....not too fancy shmancy, but not seedy either. Just go to a new club and try again, especially if you don't have time to waste because you need to hurry up and make cash.

^ true that earnings get better over time with stripping, but the point of stripping is to STILL produce a nearly immediate income within the first few days. If someone breaks even or close to it ($100 or less) every shift her whole first week, then mebbe she should consider a different line of work...or atleast a different club.

Newbies arnt the issue, it's BAD STRIPPERS. there's already been tons of threds about obese, ugly, or nonpregnant pregnant-looking dancers screwin up the club's rep becuz they scare away customers and/or bring down the averagE overall quality of the club's dancers. Ditto for girls who spend there time bein a doormat that sits n listens to some customer hammer her ear off for free. or the girls who will do nearly anything for a single dollar. These things not only hurt that specific dancer, but brings down the quality of the guys and customers as well.

And I'm not implying the op is a "bad dancer", if anything judging by her avatar she looks good to me. I'm talkin about the type of strippers that continue to strip despite it NEVER gettin to be very profitible for them...the ones that consistintly go home with $100 or less each nite, and never seem to break out of that first day "inexperienced newbie" money drout that some newbies go thru due to not havin their game yet.
