Default The Best Natural-looking Faux Lashes

I was wondering if any of you guys have any info, pictures, etc. on types or kinds of natural looking lashes that look great in the daytime as well as the night. I am just trying to step my game up . Currently I don't wear any. I just use a really great mascara because my lashes are long but like most of us I want them longER

I can't tell you anything about the daytime look.

What I can say works really well for me is not so much the type (although there's some really cheap human hair pairs for 1.99 I like, or else the Kiss brand is decent) is how they're applied.

I like to get the black weave glue (do not get the anti-fungal type as that stings your eyes) and the blackness is hidden a lot better than the white-dries-not-so-clear type glue.

Also, I like to cut my eyelashes in half and slightly overlap them. This way, there's not as much tension throughout the whole eyelash that eventually flips up one of the ends and either pokes my eye or starts to fall off or looks like it.

Fiendish have you tried the dark tone adhesive? I think it will be better than the weave glue. I know that's not even supposed to be applied to the skin on our scalp, much less near our eyes. I use it too in a pinch, but only when I have no other choice.

I wish I could recommend something Candy, but I can never remember the #'s of the lashes.

Girrrl I wear falsies every day! I hardly wear eyeliner, just lashes. They shape your eye so amazingly, I tell you!

I order them in bulk from a site called Madame Madeline - http://www.madamemadeline.com/

    Pleasure Victim--
I figure any type of glue is not supposed to be near our eyes-- and it stings in any case when it get on the inner lid. I have not tried the dark tone one-- honestly the white tone one is pretty weak for me. I find the black scalp one strong enough and I just have to shower and perhaps rub a little with some oil to make them release my real eyelashes.

Thanks for all the tips ladies! I have seen the girls use the weave glue. They also said it holds better. I don't know but thats what they said when I asked.

NO glue holds like weave glue! LOL On drunken nights when I come home and go straight to sleep, by the time I get up the next afternoon my lashes are still on and haven't budged even slightly.

I was almost strangled by a hairdresser who found out I had weave glue on my scalp before, and she put the fear in me never to do it again, saying it was toxic and should be applied to hair, not my skin. I was weary about it before- I think it says right on the bottle not to do it? But as I said, I still do- just only in a pinch.

When I use the regular eyelash glue, I let it sit for a minute to get tacky....I find that that helps it stay in place even better.

Thanks so much for that site! I have a metal super pointy eyelash comb from Ardell and now I can't find it anywhere. I'm hoping I can find that or a similar one on this site. Aside from the fact that I am an eyelash junkie!

I tried weave glue, but it makes my eyes so dry and itchy I can't have the lashes on longer than an hour without having to take my contacts out.

I use weave glue, but the hypo-allergenic, anti-fungal kind I don't recall the name of the brand but it comes in a red and purple bottle

As to the OP, you could get eyelash extensions applied professionally at a salon or spa near you! A nail salon near me does them and it looks great! Here is the product they use, I think this is the most common technique:

If you don't want to do that, I would recommend going to Sephora and asking one of the ladies there to help you pick some out I also like the little "whispies" that you can get at CVS, it's not a full lash but basically you just apply it to the outer half of the lash and it looks really good

Ahh I'm so glad you like it! Let me know how it goes, lash combs are not to be neglected!

Also going to second the lash extensions bit - they look absolutely amazing. I want mink like JLo!

I didn't know they had a brand of weave glue like that. Did you buy it at a regular beauty supply store or a chain store like Sally's?

I love # 73 and # 43 for a natural look. I also cut mine, only apply them to the outer 2/3 of my lash line, looks more natural!

I tried the cutting the lashes in half thing the other night and they stayed on soo much better. I also realized that I really like how my eyes look with just one half glued on..like the outside half. I think it looks kinda weird though because if you really look you can obviously tell I have half of an eyelash on lol. I'm gonna buy some individual ones and play with just putting them on the outside..I feel like I can make those look a lot more natural.

this is what i use for glue and it works soo good, its a lot stronger than regular eyelash glue but not as strong as weave glue (but weave glue burns my eyes). its also way easier to use because its a little brush.

also they have it in black now! i just saw that when i went to look for a link for it. im gonna get that as soon as the clear one i have runs out.

The best glue for strip lashes is Duo. Ardell has the most natural looking lashes with a clear band which is easier to apply. As someone posted madamemadeline.com has the best selection of lashes.

For Natural with a little wow factor I would use either Ardell #122 or the Wispies. Wispies are my fave for a natural look.
    Hope I helped.

I've been trying to figure out falsies for like 2 weeks! Do you put them on after or before your eye makeup?(eyeliner, eyeshadow?)

I put on shadow before mascara, then lashes. Liner goes over the lash band if i'm using a gel/liquid, but under if i'm using a pencil. Have fun and see what you like!

Seconded - black spines for one reason or another are always thicker and so much more difficult to work with, i.e. Illamasqua lashes. Disappointment.

Girlllll I used to do it like you too, but try it this way: putting on one coat of mascara before your lashes, I prefer it sooo much better! I also don't wear eyeliner (on the top at least, I do smokey eyeshadow underneath in place of eyeliner, and black on my bottom water line) Even just a light coat, then lashes, then 1-2 regular coats of mascara. A well known make up artist, retired dancer, and member on this forum (Dtxgirl) taught me this. I don't know why I never did it before!

CandyXXX, I believe the general consensus for African American girls is that the wispies are the best for natural, every day lashes. I didn't like them on me, but I know many African American dancers who only use them.

Also, you guys HAVE to check out www.clumpsofmascara.com !!! It's a blog started by an African American girl reviewing EVERY type of mascara out, with before and after photos. You can tell her eye lashes are more coarse/curly than caucasian lashes, but I found it very useful still with the photos, and she really knows what she's talking about!

I recently switched mascaras for the millionth time, and I'm in LOVE with my current one! It's called Fairydrops Scandal Queen. It is so unlike any mascara on the market to date, it absolutely does NOT run at all, it's like a rubber cement. When you wash it off, it balls up and clumps off, it's not inky or runny at all! Also, it is SUPER black and glossy, not as dark black as the YSL Faux Cils, but close, and way shinier. Also, you can layer it over and over and over for volume, and it's so fibrous and lengthening at the same time. She reviewed it and pretty much gave it the highest rating possible. I really can't say enough good things about it! This and some of the Lancome mascaras are my absolute favorites!
