Anyone ever bought one from this website?:

I'm looking for sexy, relatively well-made corsets that don't cost $200. Do you have any sites you've used that fit the bill?

I have never used the website but I got a corset close to that but its like leather and it has a sweet heart neckline and it was 26 bucks at Charlotte Russe or however you spell it lol its one of my money makers at work.
^ Charlotte Russe has some really cool stuff at fantastic prices.

Honestly I LIVE in corsets and buy most of mine from Frederick's.

Does jumping for the more expensive ones make a HUGE difference? I don't know whether or not I'll like them (I've never worn one), so I don't want to drop a ton of money on one. But I wouldn't want to buy a cheap one, hate it, and then decide I don't like corsets just because of a cheapie.

I can't imagine you actually being comfortable in a legit boned corset while working... I have a decent one (not custom made, but decent) and I find it pretty constricting. I even got one for shorter torsos because the one that was a more proper length was too uncomfortable for me to sit down in. You can get used to it, but it's not like what you'd buy at Charlotte Russe. Those don't have the steel boning like "real" corsets do; they're just fashioned in the style of corsets. I've seen some girls mention wearing underbust corsets while working which I imagine would be a bit easier, but you have to factor in how you're going to be moving and what you're going to be eating/drinking while wearing something as constricting as a corset. If you just like the cut/style of corsets, I'd get the cheap ones that aren't actually going to lace you in and constrict your movements. But if you're set on getting a boned one, the cheaper ones can mold to your body a bit better the more you wear them (some girls even sleep in theirs), but if you go for a custom one, you'll be shelling out several hundred. I'd wait to make sure you like it before you go through the trouble. I wanted to try mine on, so I went to a shop in the city that specialized in clothes like that. I agree with trying Frederick's if you go this route.
^ Good information. I'm actually not looking for something to work in. I just want a sexy corset.![]()
I guess I'm looking for one that I could work in if I wanted to...which is limiting to me to zippered corsets, like this one:

I have handmade corsets that I paid $500 for (not for dancing) and then I have the ones that I beat the crap out of every night ITC that I pay $60 - $75 for that have flexible boning and that stay together fairly decently. Honestly, I wouldn't spend less than $60 on one to try it. If you find you hate it you're only out $60 (and you can probably re-sell it) and if you love it, they're still on the rather cheap end and you can go buy more.

I have one from Fredericks's from last season that buttons up the front, you may find that style easiest to work in at first, just to get used to it. The ones that clip are trickier, and you have to make a bigger show of seductively taking it off. If you do get the kind that clip, go for the ones that clip up the middle rather than the side. Side clips are seriously obnoxious.
This is one of my all time favs. Something about the halter I just absolutely adore: http://www.fredericks.com/The_Hollyw...html?cgid=co32
This is the basic version of the one above: http://www.fredericks.com/The_Hollyw...html?cgid=co32
Honestly, that's where I'd start.

^ Insanely sexy!!! I might end up buying one of the two. You ROCK!
So you think the one I posted above would be a riskier buy? I like that it's reversible and I like the patterning, but I'm totally going to go with whatever your recommendation would be.

Actually I didn't even see your link. Sorry lady! That one is a perfect one to start with honestly.
Tip for trying them on: Undo ALL the lacing in the back (I don't mean take the laces out, I mean make sure they are exceptionally loose) position the corset the way you want it on your body and then lace yourself up. Also, do not have anyone else lace you up. They have no idea what's too tight/loose or comfortable on you. For the correct fit you really need to do it yourself. I recommend a 3 way mirror for this so you can literally see every angle and you can watch yourself lacing it. I know in all the movies they show the women being trussed up by someone else, it's not the way to wear modern corsets anymore.

I haven't bought from corsetstory yet but I hear they're AMAZING for the price.
It is in fact possible to sexily strip out of a corset with a regular, but it takes some practice lacing and unlacing it on your own before you can do it confidently

Don't forget waist cinchers!

I know it would take a special look to pull this off, and I've seen one woman before in Nola at Rick's pull it off.
I think I want to get a couple of pairs.

Hey I did some online looking for you and although I have never ordered from them www.envychic.com has a fantastic selection all around $65. I'm actually saving pics for my wish list!
You ladies fucking ROOOOOCK!!!

I actually do a corset-themed day! Haha. Anyway, do a search on ebay. You can find some relatively comfortable corsets for under $40. They're plastic boned and AWESOME. I would recommend staying away from anything steel-boned, unless you're looking into corset-training or historical fetish play or something :p

JayATee gave great advice but she has obviously been wearing corsets for a very long time. I sell corsets, mostly the flexible boned corsets, but I also have a few metal boned corsets. Your purchase should depend mostly on how you dance on stage and where you will be wearing it.
If you are extremely active, do poll tricks, etc. and need a lot of movement, then corsets may not be for you...or you could try the cheap one from Charlotte Rousse. I find the more you move, the quicker they wear out. Specifically...the will bend out of shape, the boning might come out, or the zipper could split.
If you mostly prance and pose on stage then go ahead and splurge.
Another thing to consider is how you sit when you're on the floor. One of my customers' biggest complaints is that, over time, the bottom front of the corset curves out. You will need to focus on sitting up perfectly straight to prevent this from happening. This will happen with the flexible boning and the metal boning.
Over time, if you are active, the boning could start to rip out of the top or bottom of the corset. This is especially uncomfortable and most girls end up cutting the boning out once this starts to happen. A lot of the Escante corsets that I sell do this. They cost around $60 but aren't really made for exoticwear. They look great, though, and a lot of my girls love the different prints.
As for lacing it up yourself: This is not as easy as it sounds. The first few time you might want to get someone to help you. If they tie it too tight you can always ask them to loosen it. Tying it too tight is actually what causes the zipper to split. Everyone wants a 22" waist and they tie their corsets as tight as they will go. Most corsets that costs under $100 aren't made for this kind of abuse and the zipper will split in under a month. If this is your goal then you need to splurge on a corset with an industrial strength zipper, not a jacket zipper.
Corsets are undoubtedly HOT and I hope you find one that makes you happy. Lastly, I would focus on the brand that you are buying, not the site you are buying them from. I wish I could offer a few suggestions beyond Escante, because I don't feel that brand is a great choice. I've seen many renaissance corsets that would hold up.
Good luck with your search!!
I've found some nice ones at a good price on etsy.com, but I guess it's also just a matter of who's selling what. It's also less likely someone else will have the same one, if that's a concern.
I propose a toast - to my self control.... I see you crawling, helpless, on the floor.......

This is all very true, I was trying to keep it kinda simple for the beginning.
I actually had this happen to me once ITC and I was so fucking pissed! Not because "how dare she wear MY corset" type of thing, but because how often does that happen?! LoL.
