What should someone new to the clubs know before shopping for outfits? Do I need special thongs? Pasties? I'm all in the dark even Google didn't help.

According to my friend from albuquerque in houston you must wear full pasties, full bottoms. and in El Paso you must have your shoes on or you are a prostitute!

^San Antonio,TX I think it's Bexar county.

I also need laws and regulations for Texas; mostly for Dallas/Ft. Worth, Ft. Hood and Austin.
Graacias.

^Is not graacias, but gracias.

Houston is topless and nude. Depends on the club. I work at Michael's VIP and nude is fine.
In San Antonio you need to wear "half backs." They sell them at the clubs:-)
No pasties (or at least it wasn't enforced).
Yes, latex in El Paso.
I'm thinking about taking a trip there again. I didn't love it, but I have a friend there.
In Dallas, you need a backround check, where you will come in on the shift you want to work, the manager will drive you down to the...police station? I think? You will pay 50 up front (I think I've heard in some places it is 100 for out-of state folks, ask the manager) to have your backround done. Sister clubs share licenses, but you must have this done for each club you plan to work in. Pain the ass, right? Also the police station? is closed Sunday so don't try to get hired that day, it is a no go.
As far as wardrobe, there is a little something for everyone, from gowns to just a T-Back and some heels. Upscale Clubs, Hard Rock Clubs, Black Clubs, Country Clubs,Nude Clubs, Latino Clubs, we got 'em all. There really aren't laws,a la Colorado for instance,as far as outfits that are see-through, being covered on the floor, etc. The wardrobe will depend on the club you choose.
If you want to try a few different clubs before deciding which one to dance in, you can start as a waitress and you won't have to do get the backround check. That way you aren't paying 50 dollars for a club you may decide is not for you. Also, keep in mind that Dallas is pretty high contact.
Fort Worth doesn't require a license.
Jay, I know in Killeen you must wear latex, or the Oklahoma style fabric paint over the nips. Not sure if you need a license. Commuting to Waco may be another option, but I'm not sure about there either.
Austin doesn't require a license. Never worked in San Antonio myself. What is a half back?
In Houston, I believe you have to wear a tag from the Sheriff's Dpt. around your ankle. You guys make me want to call these clubs and get the info, but I just don't have the energy right now...hope this helps.

thanks!
And before you girls start going crazy looking at silly latex most clubs will sell you a tube for a few dollars in NUDE color. The first time I worked at a latex club I was excited to wear stupid colors. I have heard about girls using acrylic paint, too, but I think if you got caught you'd get in trouble. The ABC are dorks.
Some of the best advice I've gotten about what's legal to wear where is from girls at lingerie/dancewear/sex shops. A lot of them used to be dancers, and since they sell clothes to dancers, they always seem to be in the know. The girls at one of my favorite stores are always having to explain if a particular G-string is "legal" or not. I still can't tell where the double fabric has to end for it to be legal...? Maybe try calling around to some of the shops in the town/city where you're interested in working. Austin's the only place I've worked and all I know is your T-back has to be "legal" and you're committing prostitution if you take your shoes off. And there are no pasty requirements.

In Dallas there are 'laws' and not everywhere is high-contact. Thank god. I don't know about the other parts of tx, but there's no acrylic needed. T-backs have to be double (i forgot the word) like a swimsuit, if you're not in a byob (nude) club. Shoes have to be kept on all the time. Individual clubs vary greatly on what they allow. The background check is $50 ($100 for out of state Ids). you don't go to the police station. There's actually a building that only does fingerprinting and background checks, which is really fast unless there's a line of people there. If you need money fast, it'd probably be better to take a chance on the background fee and start dancing now. I hear the waitresses complain about their money when they haven't gotten their customers built up yet.

What does it mean that tbacks have to be double like a swimsuit?

Double lined. Meaning the inside is that weird white material that is on the crotch of most swimsuits plus the outer fabric of the t-back. When I worked in Arlington, while not onstage, 75% of my ass had to be covered. Fort worth will let you just walk around the floor topless in the teeniest t-back ever.
San Antonio- I know that The Palace, Men's Club, Sugars, and the store next to Wild Zebra sell dance wear. Secret's by Tiffany's Cabaret and All Stars sells alot of stuff. Most clubs are pasties. T-Back's are against the rules and you need a half back (rio scrunch). They do not have to be like a swimsuit.
