Question Thigh-high boots getting all damp *eww*

I just got a pair of leather thigh-high boots, and I'm loooooving wearing them to the club. I wear socks under them that go to just under my knees, but they're (the boots) making my legs sweat so much that every time I get home, they're damp inside to the point of being wet. They have a really intricate lace-up style for the thigh part, and then under that at knee-level is the zipper, so I can't leave them fully open to dry or anything. The first few days, I tried leaving them open as much as possible, but it still didn't help and so now I blow dry them. But this just means I'm effectively drying in the sweat I don't know if there's some kind of wipe I could use on the insides first before I blow dry them, or if there's something else that soaks up moisture (I know newspapers help when you get your sneakers wet), or if maybe I need thicker socks, although that would make me sweat more too.

Any ideas? I really appreciate it - I love the boots to death but they're driving me nuts being all wet every freaking night and I wanna get on it before they start smelling or something!

A boot dryer? Or just use a blow dryer...but it will take forever

    Baby Powder also works.

Sadly, this is one of the hazards of leather thigh boots. I wear thigh-length boots regularly and I wear tights (pantyhose) underneath, as socks make my legs too hot and thus perspire too much. If you're going to be wearing them a lot, then try pantyhose rather than socks......or wear them over jeans or leggings.

As for drying them out - unfortunately, unlacing them is the only way you'll dry them out fully. Do you have a fan-heater..? Using a fan heater on a low heat setting is great for drying out thigh-length boots.

I don't recommend using powder though. Baby powder will dry them - BUT - it will also go crusty - and when you perspire in them again.....it will go all slimy and skanky.

You can use some anti-perspirant if you're not opposed to it. Put it on your inner thighs, behind your knees and anywhere else you seem to sweat a lot.

Besides that, you can use baby powder but you will have to clean out the crust, gel or residue (depending on how much you use) with a paper towel or baby wipe when you get home.

As for smell, freeze the fuckers whenever you get the chance. It'll kill the bacteria and keep them from getting stinky. Another option is deodorant (not antiperspirant). Spray it in them before you put them on to keep the funkiness at bay.

I used to have a pair of vinyl thigh highs and eventually I'd just throw them in the washer and it didn't hurt them. Doubt you can do that with leather I would wipe it out with a sponge put in warm soapy water a few times. After this you might be able to spray a mixture of tea tree oil and water on it...I'm sure there's a more powerful mixture you could do but it's evading my brain at the moment.

Then I'd fill some hosiery with baking soda and lavendar or some anti-foot fungal powder. In a pinch you can stuff newspaper balled up loosely and the paper will absorb the moisture and some of the funk.

This is good. I think they have a "moisture absorber" as well.

    This seems useful

So a wash or at least a spin cycle. For want of thigh high shoe trees I'd just suggest stuffing then with newspaper after getting the excess moisture out.

Oh and try to alternate when you wear them- it's not good to wear any leather shoe day after day. Gives them more time to dry out.
