Default Fairy Drops Mascara- Thank you J.D.

I purchased the Fairy Drops Scandal Queen mascara today and HOLY SHIT..this is the BEST mascara I've ever used. It lengthens, thickens and curls all in one. My lashes literally look fake since they're pretty long and thick to begin with. But with those with shorter lashes I'd definitely recommend this. It's that type of product where I almost feel like purchasing a back-up "just in case" or just to just have two at hand. $24 well spent.

Thank you again J.D. for suggesting this.

Nice. How much of a bitch is it to remove?

I hate having to remove mascara like twice and then still wake up with flakes of it all around my eyes.

I honestly and truly am not trying to rain on anyones parade.. but that mascara is 1 of 2 items I have returned to Sephora in the last 3 years... and I purchase a LOT of make-up. There are a lot of great reviews for it and a few "really bad" ones. I'm sure everyone is diff I just felt compelled to add my own .02 .... It must have something to do with eyelash type. I was so let down, since it was recommended to me multiple times. I have sparse thin lashes and for me it just became the worst clumpy spidery mess ever. I like buxom for everyday (it's my go-to) but I got a VIB sample of the new "they're real" by benefit and it is absolutely amazing (to me). Which, I was surprised by since I -hated- badgal. So, if you guys try fairy drops and don't like it, give "they're real" a go. Maybe your eyelashes are like mine.

As I mentioned, my lashes are decent in length and thickness. I would especially recommend FD to anyone with oily skin. I just worked a seven hour shift and usually by the end of the night I have smudges under my eyes (I only use waterproof mascara on my eyes, nothing else). My lashes looked exactly the way it did after I finished applying it before work, AND I had no smudges.

This mascara does not flake either. All I used was water to gently rub the mascara off my lashes with my fingertips then I washed my face normally. The mascara doesn't run, but rather it "slides" off. The texture reminds me of eyelash glue..rubbery but not sticky. Also, my lashes maintained its curl.

I have tried many products that were good but not to the point where I'd go raving about it. However, Fairy Drops is something worth raving about.

Watch out because one thing about waterproof mascara is that a chemical in them causes the lashes to break and get really short. I remember reading that a lot of women who wore mascara in the fifties and sixties had this issue and so to only use it on special occasions rather than an everyday.

Mascara is so personalized, depending on your lash type, you may love or hate a certain brand. I also have fine, short, sparse eye lashes, but I love this! You have to figure out how to apply it so that it works for you. It almost "retrains" my lashes to bend and curl in a certain way and stay like that. I have some rogue lashes that go weird directions, but this mascara shellacs them into place. It's not soft, it's much more stiff than the average mascara, IMO, which I actually like.

^^^ I use olive oil to remove my eye makeup and I have noticed that my lashes have become healthier. I also apply castor oil to them before bed..when I remember. I find that using these oils help condition lashes, making them less prone to breakage.

For drugstore brands, L'Oreal Voluminous is my top. Better than most not-drug-store mascaras.

    L. Vol. was not good for me, at all, but I've heard lots like it. Where do get FD, Sephora? Anywhere else?
You might laugh, but I bought a .99 mini mascara from Sally's. & I think it's one of the better ones I've ever used! I liked the way it made my lashes look & I like minis, for me they're easier to use, maybe cause I'm a lefty? I did go thru it faster, as was expected.

I'm wondering if you got a bad tube, because mine is getting old, and I've noticed it turned really dry and spidery, nothing like how it was when I first bought it. It was really slick, wet, smooth, now it's getting thick, dry, clumpy and spidery. Time to buy some more! I think maybe you got a contaminated tube with some air in it, it's not uncommon....

This is my favorite drugstore mascara as well! I have yet to try Lash Stilletto or Define a Lash, or Full and Soft, all of which are very popular. I used to love Great Lash (the pink and green tube) when I was in high school, but I've moved on to bigger and better things I guess... I just hate spending money on drug store mascara because A. it's not cheap, and B. I'm usually disappointed, then I have to go back and return it and go through that hassle.

i just purchased fairy drops too after having returned lancome hypnose (didn't do a thing for me) and I like it but I think i'll keep trying others - i have short straight lashes so i need it all - volume length curl - and the ONLY mascara that has ever done that for me was the Diorshow Unlimited, which is now discontinued. wahhhh

I've been looking for a new mascara, and want to try this.

    Now for a minor threadjack:

This seems to be sold through the Sephora chain. Has anyone been to a physical Sephora store? Would it make sense to arrange a trip out to a suburban shopping mall just to visit one?

Well, I guess it depends on how far you want to go/how far it is..I personally love going to Seph., they have so many testers & stuff to play with, & if you want a perfume sample you can get it, if there isn't one they make it up. I mean sometimes they might give you an attitude about that, but usually they're cool.

back to the topic, I saw it online @ Seph, the thing is I don't like the curved brush
