Default Weight, Breaking into Money, and Shyness

Hello, all. I'm not a newbie, per se -- I've been dancing on and off for about two years. I dance at little neighbourhood bars, some of the more divier ones, in my city, simply because that's how I started and I've learned a lot. Now I'm ready to move up, but I think my weight is going to hinder me. I'm very busy and try to get pilates in as often as I can, plus I work very hard onstage and have developed good toning in the thighs/butt region because of it, but it's really my stomach. I hate it. It will not tone. I can feel my abs behind the flab there but they won't make themselves appear. I'm 5'3" and used to be 105-110lbs, and then I got pregnant and went all funhouse mirror. I carry my weight very well and have very nice (if I can be vain ^_^; natural breasts, but I'm unhappy with my overall appearance.

I want to work at a far nicer club than I'm currently at. I think the top earners at my club earn between $2-300 on good nights. I'm lucky to walk out with $120 on the same night, and that's me busting my ass. However, I'm wondering if I should just take the plunge and go apply at high(er) end clubs and risk rejection, or if I should stay where I am making a pittance while I work on my weight. I've worked for almost a year on it with results, but not the ones I want.

So, um, any tips, any hustling tips, any weightloss tips -- any encouragement is so welcomed at this time.

All I can tell you is to go for it. Go apply at one of the nicer clubs and see what they say. They will tell you if you need to lose weight or not. Sometimes we can be our own worst critic and may not look as bad as we think we do. If they tell you to lose weight then just start eating healthier and keep working out. What you eat has as much of an impact on your weight as working out does
Keep in mind that if you get hired, it's a whole new ballgame. There will be alot of competition and probably alot of cutthroat b.s. Unfortunately at higher end clubs the girls are alot cattier and will not hesitate to step on your toes. However, there's more money to be made and the clientele is often rich businessmen and such.
    Good luck!
P.S. Go read through hustle hut. Start from the first page and work your way up. Alot of the really good tips are at the beginning

There are always tricks, even in strip clubs, to hide a flabby stomach. Corsets and dresses you can just pull down are always good bets.

I would try to audition at some higher-end clubs. If you feel you're ready and/or want to put up with the b.s. that goes on in them, go for it! You may get turned down, and then you can keep working at your current club until you lose a little more weight and try again. And by then you'll know more what the high end club wants. Good luck!

Pilates does great for toning muscle, but you won't lose a lot of fat doing it. Cardio is your best bet for that.

When you go in for an audition, always be prepared. Smile, look good have your bag ready. Expect the best and prepare for the worst. Meanwhile work as much as you can, hit the gym 2x as hard (once for you once for me since I can't )
