    Default Messed up Sleep Schedule!

Hey guys, I am new to SW and I am not 100% sure if this has been covered in any previous threads but I am curious if any one else has this issue.

I work in a club an hour away from home. By the time I leave the club its 2:20am or so, which means I don't get home till 3:30am (after getting gas/fast food on way home, lol). By the time I get home and shower/moisturuze/make tea etc its around 4:00am.

By this time I just want to chill out, put my feet up, watch my fave tv shows online/brows StripperWeb...sooo by the time I get to bed its like 8:00am sometimes!!! I always need 8 hrs of sleep esp after a busy night dancing so ya you get the picture.

Only problem is by the time I wake up (if I don't have class that day, in which case I would have tried to go to bed a lil earlier(i only have class 2x a week), I have to get ready for work in a couple hrs! Which leaves me like no time to do much of anything ie. tan/shop/hang out w friends etc.

I wish I could fix this problem but I can not fall asleep right after work! Does any one else live with a similar sleeping pattern/have any advice on how to what to do about this?

I also wanted to add that because of all this my social life is totally lacking. I rarely have time to hang out with friends. I find I distance myself from them because I need to work to pay for my schooling/rent/carpayments/bills etc etc. AND they don't understand dancing is a job to me, not an option. Blah

Been a while now... But when I had classes and worked it was tough to work the night and then be ready to learn something. I worked in Dallas and went to college in Dallas (close by). The lack of sleep and hours led me to start escorting and that didn't solve everything as far as sleep but it helped get me though school. I could sleep between escort calls.

They have these new shot things out called Dream Shots, there are other brands too. It's like the opposite of a 5-Hour Energy. On weekends when I work, I take those on the drive home (I have a 20-30 minute drive) because I don't get off work til 4am, so I don't get to bed until around 5am. Those help me relax and fall asleep. You could also try Unisom or something. Once you get more on a schedule to fall asleep earlier, your body will adjust. If you don't like artificial aids, you could start going to bed earlier gradually, at about 30 minute increments every couple days. You just REALLY have to stick to it. They use this method for insomniacs as well to help them sleep.

You could have more of a social life if you went to bed earlier rather than 8am.

My sleep schedule is pretty much the same! And if I try to sleep earlier I just end up tossing and turning for hours until I fall asleep much later than I originally would have to start with if I had just gone to bed when I felt like it.

I've never heard of dream shots, either...definitely would try it though.

For years I had trouble falling asleep, and staying asleep. On the advice of a friend who owned an herb store, I began taking a melatonin supplement (available at almost any grocery, pharmacy and herb/vitamin store). My problem was helped immediately and completely went away within two weeks and I didn't need to take any more. You have to stay with the pills for about 10 days, taking one a night at the same time to re-set your internal clock. It worked wonders without the need of artificial drugs/depressants/downers. Vitamin-D pills do the same thing for me, I take one now and then if I need to get to sleep but I'm not really tired.

These are the three I've tried and have worked to relax and chill me out. Chamomile tea, or Celestial Seasons Sleepy tea work as well, though not as well as the dreamwater.
