I would say skin and body condition are the two dead giveaways of age. Your skin's condition can make you look alot older or younger than you really are. Try not to smoke, get skin treatments, i.e. microdermabrasion, IPL, botox etc. I know some people are into tanning but I stay out of the sun and away from sun beds. I feel like it will just age you years down the road. Keeping your body in excellent shape and staying toned is also important.

I think the most important beauty tip is to be happy and positive! Speaking for myself when I'm happy my skin glows and my eyes sparkle. When I'm unhappy my whole face droops. We are all lovable in our own special little ways

a few things that i'd like to point out in general...

a lot of women are negligent to their brows despite their making such a massive difference in your appearance. thinner brows age you and actually are supposed to subconsciously represent suppressed rage in some cases. i filled in my mama's brows, rounded them (arches age, also), and gave her a dewy foundation - she's partial to the matte look - and she looked ten years younger.

makeup ages you quite a bit. frosted shades, particularly. lashes open and lift the eye better than any heavy shadows and shading could imo.

sadly blonde hair doesn't do much for our cause here either...

however! i don't mean to marginalize your feelings at all, but early thirties is not old! feministstripper put it much more eloquently than i could:

I am also just over 30 and I will be getting back to dancing next month...after reading this I will definitely leave the rhinestones at home! hahah...you are so right, I had never thought about it. Many good points here and I agree on most.

I have to disagree about the botox though! Dont do it! I think it can actually make you look older. If you want to get rid of some fine lines use fillers! Fillers are much better because they let you keep your facial expressions! I recently had restylane injected under my eyes to get rid of the dark circles and I would recommend it, circles are gone! I am getting some injected into my cheeks as well as in 2 weeks, I have always had a very thin face and I think adding just a little bit of volume will make me look healthier.

But drawing them in can age you just as having thin brows. I guess there is a happy in the middle range. Perhaps a little shading..Nothing over the top.

How much were the under eye injections? Pls do tell bc I have practically zero wrinkles but I have hollows under my eyes and awful dark circles. They r aging me and no eye cream or moisturization, or drinking tons of water etc..is correcting the issue.

    To the OP:

I think there have been some really great suggestions to your cause.

However, also remember to be yourself and wear what you feel you look good and comfortable in. One of the things I have always embraced about this business is the freedom to be creative.

For example: I'm over thirty. I don't do rhinestone chokers but I don't do huge, trendy, embellished necklaces (at least not while dancing). I adore, simple necklaces with "statement" charms. I'm really small, 5'2" and fluctuate btw 97 to 102, so I feel a huge necklace just over powers me. Plus, they are hell when doing pole tricks. They may not be trendy, but they are , well, me. I get a lot of compliments on them and it encourages a custies to get a closer look at me and they make decent conversation pieces.

I also have highlighted hair, but I'm naturally dark blond anyway. It's naturally very wavy and it's in excellent condition because I rarely use a blow dryer. I wear it long, with a side part. Is it trendy? Not really. But I don't need extendsions and get lots of compliments on my hair.

As I said before, all of the ladies here have given you great suggestions, but just remember to keep part of what makes you special.

I am pretty secure as far as who I am. At times I like to hear what people really think bc some of the girls dont tell me to my face they just run their mouths behind my back. So I wanted to ask u guys just for all of ur perspectives. I am not gonna go out and change everything bc of all the suggestions. I just wanted to hear what everyone had to say. I am lucky to say that I am doing alright right now--money wise for this area-- and I am grateful for it. I appreciate the up swings while they r still here.

FWIW...Ive been wearing jeans, mock turtlenecks and sneakers since I was 18... and I have an unhealthy obsession with plaid. Ive never been trendy lol. People always tell me I look young but I never realized how much til I was working at a restaurant, and the day there was an uproar when they found out I was 34...they all thought I was their age (mostly between 18-24...college kids)

Im not trying to look younger to be honest....but things I think that helps is, the makeup I wear is flawless to the point no one can tell I wear any. And I wear my hair away from my face, not necessarily up in a ponytail or anything, but style it away from my face, not into it...that alone makes me look my age for sure. When I do go out, and all out...I play up my eyes with liner and mascara, lashes if Im feeling extra patient, but keep my lips a berry shade, soft or bold, depending if Im going for innocent or vampy.

So yeah, thats my suggestion...the tips on aging yourself with makeup is excellent, and also, Id style hair away from the face (sorry I cant give much more than that) Longer or shorter hair, I still look young, actually I think I come off younger when my hair is shorter. When I wear my lace front, I do look hotter, but it also ages me a couple years, and I look more like late 20's. Which is still better than looking like Im 34 LoL
Don't blink. Don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. Don't turn your back. Don't look away. And don't blink!

I think having really light blonde hair (the color most Playboy models have), tanning a lot, and wearing a lot of makeup can all make you look older. When I was 23, I had platinum blonde hair, overdid it to the tanning to the point where I was almost Snooki's color, and wore heavy eye makeup. Customers usually guessed me as being 27-28, which pissed me off because I was only 23.

Now I'm 32 and I have dark blonde hair (which is more natural looking on me and more flattering to my complexion) and I wear light makeup. I still go tanning, but not as often as I used to. People are usually surprised at my age and usually guess me as being no older than 25-26. I get carded almost every time I go out.

I've never smoked in my life, and I think that helps. I've never really used special creams on my face or eyes or anything. I would consider Botox for myself if I need it in the future though.

These are all awesome suggestions! Also, I agree with Camille about big boobs.

This advice may sound counterproductive....I know it's important to cater to your demographic when making song choices, but IMO dancing to classic rock or old skool music when you're obviously over thirty just points out how 'over thirty' you are.

I'm not saying act like a teenybopper and dance to the latest top 40s on the pop chart (although that's what I do lol), but...newer music.

You should do it! It really makes a huge difference.
I had it done in Sweden and the price was 3500 swedish crowns which is a little bit over 400 USD I think, it will last for a year. I am getting some in my cheeks as well next week just to add a little bit more volume and that is around 550 USD.

I started using products from Jan Marini about a month ago and I am actually starting to see results...I cant even begin to explain how amazing it is...! my skin looks so healthy and almost perfect now...having tried so many different products I really didnt think there was anything that could make such a difference. I really recommend it.

    many great suggestions here.

i'm in my 30's as well. i make more money now than i did in my 20's. my game has definitely improved and i also feel like i've refined my look better than i did starting out.

dancing has always been a business for me, not a lifestyle. i don't smoke, do drugs or drink. that factor alone is HUGE with looking young and having any staying power in this business.

30s is not old as long as you take care of yourself!

That is true about the music. Even though I hate hip hop and top 40 I have started to play more of it and its helped. I dont like catering to the ghetto crowd or the club music but if it makes everyone n the club happier and tip more then im gonna do it..

This thread rocks! You guys are giving me the courage to go back. I used to make so much money when I was in my early 20s and I tried going back about a year ago here in New England (Im 2 and havent had the luck so I left it alone, even tried another state FL did ok but nowhere near what I used to make and it was down season when I went. Then I realized it could have been how I was feeling and coming across so Im getting my boobs done which I think will be a big booster to my confidence, since my boobs have went downhill after the birth of my twins, and Im gonna try some chemical peels and see how that works. Ive been camming and do great but I LOVE and miss dancing especially when I make alot of money Ive always met such great people plus I figured b/w camming and dancing I can reach my goals alot quicker. Thanks again guys.

I am sorry but I dont know what down time means..! if you wonder how long it lasts the answer is for a year! If you mean how long until it sets I would say immediately, you could get a TINY bruise from the needle but nothing u couldnt cover easily.

I think you can go upside down directly, I doubt that could do any harm! It doesnt move from where it is!
