So tonight I am sitting on my bed playing my violin and listening to some industrial music. When I was 14 one of my favourite songs was Assimilate by Skinny puppy. I would play this over and over again as I practiced some Beethovan or Bach on my violin. At the time I was just learning how to play the violin, but oddly enough listening to industrial/metal gave me the mind set to focus on classical. Weird isn't it? But I did this almost every night and got very good at playing classical music. I also would do my homework this way and I loved school.
I would sit in my room (my room was and is fairly clean then and now) burning candles and incense and playing my music. I was for the most part a quiet kid that did her school work and did not cause any problems at school.
Well tonight, at the ripe old age of 26, here I am in my room playing classical music on my violin but listening to Assimilate by Skinny Puppy. I have two candles burning right now; one is vanilla and the other is called Pumpkin spice. Its currently my favourite time of year-the end of summer. When I was a kid I loved the beginning of the school year mainly because it is my birthday (sept 4) and the smell of new books and fresh school supplies.
Anyone else have these moments?
