Default SM "Under agreement in your area"

    Hey Girls,

I am brand new to camming and have submitted all my paperwork to SM and I got back a response that said "We are under agreement in your area. Please contact us for account opportunities on your area."

I emailed them and they asked me to confirm my city and country (I'm in Eastern Europe).

I sent them that info over 2 days ago and no one has gotten back to me.

Do they restrict certain areas of the world or what's the thing with that? I sent them another email and see if they will get back to me at all. Should I wait or should I just sign up for other cam sites too? When I go to MFC it says that they are not taking more members from my location. It seems like discrimination for me. Anyone else who has faced the same thing? Thanks

Unfortunately in most of central, south america, parts of south and east asia, most of sub-saharan Africa, and parts of eastern europe, you have to sign up through a (real or online) studio to work on streamate.

    blech Im sorry

Really? That is so lame considering my country is in the EU. Still being treated like the 'third world'. Sigh.

I operate a small studio, I only take girls that can't sign up in their own country. I will tell girls who contact me from north America and uk to not use my studio and go sign up on their own.

OJenni I never thought of that, hell I didn't even know that some might be able to sign up on the site at all.

I wonder how many studios are out there that offer this. I might offer this

Its fairly easy to start up an online studio. I have a small number of ads on sites like sexyjobs.

If a performer tells me she is located in North America, I tell her straight up "go sign up on the sites yourself and save yourself the money and hassle".

However Asia and Europe and Africa is a different story. Part of the problem is getting these performers paid. I prefer to pay them via an e-wallet like paypal or alertpay. Because paying via check in the mail is an issue. Especially if you are in Canada. If they must be paid this way the best way to do it is a international money order in USD and Canada post airmail with a tracking number.

If your only choice is a studio I highly recommend signing up through PrincessJenny - daily pay (which rocks), awesome service and she actually helps you with advice and answers questions.

Well, it's just really annoying that they never stated this during the sign up process. I even got a Payoneer card ordered and went through the hassle of printing and scanning all the documents. Why can't they just do it like MFC by locating my IP and telling me I can't sign up without a studio. Argh..

I'm on AW now as it's Europe-friendly and will see how it works for me there.. I had my 'first' night yesterday, which ended with huge frustration as the online version of JustCamIt showed a black screen, so there was me ready in my make up etc and I simpy had a ton of guys entering and leaving my room because they couldn't see me.

Now I'm fiddling around with getting a Windows 7 installed on my Mac so I could run JustCamIt from my computer but it's taking it's time .. Oh well, I know it's worth it in the long term, but jumping through all these hoops is really discouraging.

And I've become very anti-studio by reading all these topics here. How much do I actually keep after the 65% of SM plus studio costs? Could someone give me a non biased answer? Thanks

depends on the studio. with daily pay, you keep 30% of your total earnings (so sm takes 65% and the daily pay fee is 5%).

be careful with AW - they have their issues with eastern europe as well, they might close your account for not signing up with their "advisor studio" which takes 3%.
also, AW's justcamit has issues with win7. real issues. aw says thats just because justcamit wasnt made to work with win7.
on sm - try princessjenny and her dailypay. ok, you will lose some % due to the fact that sm pays only 30% to studios and pj takes her (very low) percentage, but i think its worth it.

Thanks for the info, I've been on the site for over a week and they haven't said anything. I seriously feel as if it's still the Soviet times.. Such double standards.

Oh, will download some other Windows so I can run it in my virtual PC. I SO just want to start!

For justcamit use their webbased version for mac.

When you see the pop up to allow connection to webcam, click "allow".

If this screen does not pop up, then under "my cam" tab hold down your control key and click at the same time. This will bring you up a list.

    Select "settings" from that list.

Once the settings box is up click "allow"

Make sure no other cam applications are in use (such as photo booth or imovie) as this will then just show a blank screen.

As far as the unbiased answer about studios:

    Pros:

-allows girls to work from Asia, Europe, Africa.
-good for newbies who feel they need support
-some studios provide a location to work from
-payment schedule (some offer daily pay)

    Cons
    - % paid to you is lower. And trust me every dollar counts!
-Not good for girls who know the ropes or newbies that are willing to learn quickly and be independent.
-No advantages if you live in North America or UK (unless you want to cam from a live studio and don't want to do it at home).
-some studios want you to work certain amount of hours.
    -payment schedule

Its not a huge money maker and sometimes when you have to mail girls their checks it can eat into your own profit and take time out of your day. I would never consider sending a check regular mail as it cannot be tracked. You need to go with priority mail where there is a tracking number. That can cost you $10 or so more then the regular stamp!

Not to mention currency conversion can be costly. I only send USD drawn on an international bank.

e-wallets are just so much better

I am from eastern europe too, and also rejected from streamate becouse my location, but i have been at AW 8 month and never had problem with it. Also homecams.com, cams.com and webcams.com have no problem with my location, so maybe you can try them.

I tried the web based version several times and guys kept saying they can't see nor hear me. Apparently Mac OS X doesn't like flash so much. So I now have Windows XP running on Parallels and I can run the normal version of JustCamIt on that and it works fine.

I'm from Eastern Europe aswell. They let me sign up as a model directly on SM (atleast it seemed so, they didn't tell me that I will be treated other then western models.)
But they pay me only 30% and I don't understand why. I've been told before from some eastern european models that they put the models from this area automatically under a studio so only get 30%. They should have noticed me about this atleast! I'm so pissed
I've just sent them a message about this, I'm waiting for their replay.
Yesterday I tryed to find myself on SM and I couldn't find my own profile!! (even if I desable my geographic restictons. I also asked a friend of mine (he doesnt live in my country) and he couldnt find me with my screenname either! So I googled my screenname and it came to a site called camlive.com, which seems to be a whitelabel for SM. But nothing else, if i try in google 'my screenname + streamate' no results are coming. Maybe it's like the asian homepage was for MFC??????? But they should told me this when I registered, I was register directly through SM on the real homepoge by clicking on 'become a model' at the bottom of the site.
So maybe I'm not even listed on SM and thats why my traffic is so bad on there?
Anybody had similar experiences to me?
I'm so confused now I don't want to work on there if they don't even list me on their real site only on a whitelabel site with bad traffic

Thanks

Oh thanks for that info Rosse! I havent signed up with DP because i was afraid of getting even less then 30%. This weeklipay option sounds awesome I'll contanct PrincessJenny about it, thanx again!

I believe the daily pay is closed but weekly pay is open which would give u 33%(PJ correct me if im wrong) which is higher what SM 30% was giving me!
