Just wondering how/ if dancing has effected your diet/ how much you work out/ other ideas about health. How has dancing changed these things for you?

I can do pull-ups now. Before dancing, I had no upper body strength. Pole dancing really helps with that.
After I stopped dancing, my body reacted really terribly to the lack of physical activity and I gained like 20 pounds. I think my body had just gotten used to a really high level of physical activity and couldn't handle going from dancing to a desk job. My weight has always been pretty constant, give or take a few pounds, and that's exactly what happened when I stopped dancing...except instead of hovering around 110 or 115, I'm hovering around 135. So, on the bright side, once I get off my lazy ass and really lose the weight, it shouldn't be much of a struggle to keep the weight off. It's just getting past this plateau that will be difficult.
Also, my diet has gotten much better. When I started dancing and could afford to eat really well, I got used to it, and no way am I going back. I don't eat fast food, and I eat a LOT of produce, preferably organic, and that tends to be much more expensive than buying hot pockets and TV dinners from Wal-Mart.

No. I have always been a health & fitness nut.
Sorry I missed church. I was too busy practicing witchcraft and becoming a lesbian.

I don't eat enough, unfortunately. I eat twice a day, bc at my club you have to do 8 hours mandatory. By the time I get out of work, I just want to hop into bed feeling like a zombie. I barely sleep too. It's terrible. I'm always tired. However, I still try to eat as healthy as I can.
This is the unhealthiest my life style has ever been. I need to gain a little bit of weight too.
Once I move into a new town, I may join a gym. Would love to get a trainer to motivate me and teach me some things.

Ive also had an interest in working out (did a sports related degree right out of high school) but I used to be lazy about nutrition. I would still be fit if I wasn't dancing but I probably wouldn't worry too much about being very lean. Now I will watch what I eat if I start putting on extra padding. It really affects my confidence if I think Ive gained weight. Plus I get cellulite easy which is not nice but if I was in an office job I wouldn't worry about a bit of cellulite.

I be up in the gym more, working on mah fitness.
Also, dancing has changed my perception of what beauty really is. It's not just about being skinny to me anymore.

Yes, I have a horrible diet. My body doesn't really like me so much right now. I'm trying to fix that.

well, contrary to what i thought originally, cranberry and vodka is not almost the same as a serving or two of fruit. a mimosa, however, may be, depending on the ingredients used.

Dancing has made me realize that I HAVE to eat better. Working in a physical job, with smoke in the air, late hours, alcohol consumed etc makes me want to eat better and take better care of myself to try and counteract all those factors. What good is all that money when years later you're using it to pay off medical bills?
