    the DNC in Charlotte next September.
    my question, will the clubs be ~hopping~ or deader then a ~frog~ in a frying pan.??

    pun intended...

    Haha, here's an article written about the Republican convention in New York City:



    Granted it's about sex workers vs strip clubs, but the general sentiment is the same I'd say.

    I dont expect the DNC to be all that much different.

    with an estimated 30,000 to 35,000 delegates, hitting the city plus all the support people. im thinking theres bound to be some bar hoppers in the mix...

    When the DNC came to Boston a few years back it really didn't have much effect on the local clubs. It's only going to be worse now with even more 24/7 news coverage than in the past and the media looking under every rock for a scandal to report on. Political conventions are not like the Shriners coming to town. Delegates are of mixed sex, background and ethnicity. It's not thousands of men in town looking for a way to blow off steam. Add to this the fact that there are dozens of planned and paid-for social events for the delegates every night.

    I don't see it as being a windfall for local strip clubs.

    I worked in a club in 1996 during the DNC in Chicago. No effect really at all.
