    Question Appetite suppressants that work?

Has anyone used an appetite suppressant that has worked for them?

I've tried several natural products from health shops but haven't found them to be very effective. So, I thought I'd ask you guys for any recommendations before going shopping again.

(Will power is key-but when experiencing PMS I find it very hard to close the fridge door on my cravings lol. So, I thought that an appetite suppressant might also help).

    Which ones have you tried?

Apple Cider Vinegar is meant to help. I would like to know of some others as well as I struggle with this big time.

It definitely is partly psychological as there are times my stomach is full but I still crave more food...but other times it's so hard making the effort to tell myself I don't need more food, when I am actually still genuinely hungry even after a decent amount of food for the day.

PMS or any hormonal imbalance makes it a BATTLE. Long term I think getting into good habits and 're-setting' the systems of the body does help, and I can say I am better than I used to be since learning about how to truly eat properly. But I find it expensive getting enough good food to be satisfied especially when I'm training a lot. I have considered but am wary of diet pills and such.

When I look at the amount I eat compared to some of the girls in the 'What I Ate Today' thread I feel ashamed of myself.

Honestly the only ones that have worked for me are RX drugs for weight loss Adipex & Meridia. On Meridia I honestly forgot to eat for a day. I am in no way suggesting these because that are prescription drugs and have side effects and are only meant to be taken for a month at a time. OTC diet pills have never worked for me for anything but energy. Fasting teas help for a little while but not all day obviously.

...Really? I love apple cider vinegar ! I actually drink it with water everyday lol (I have for yrs now), it's a great tonic for your skin etc. I've heard it's supposed to benefit your metabolism also. Not many ppl I know use it though because of the taste (I like it, it's sour and similar to lemon).

I'm sensible with my diet-but at that time I just seem to crave things even when I'm not hungry (I know it's psychological & food is not love lol). I usually just cling to a mug of green tea all day and refill it when I feel like eating something for no real reason. So far, I've tried a product by Swiss (I found this one at a health food shop, it is also available at the supermarket though-which is probably not a good sign) and also a product called Hoodia (supposedly primarily herbal). These didn't really seem to work, hence why I was curious to see if anyone had tried something that was effective.

Oh I meant that I struggle with being constantly hungry, didn't word that very clearly.

Yeah ACV isn't too bad, kind of like lemon in water, but I can't say I have any suggestions as to what works for suppressing appetite unfortunately.
I wish I was one of those people who isn't bothered about food and just eats for fuel.

The best thing i have heard in a strip club to date:
customer: we should get married right now! we should get a shotgun marriage!
me: uhh... i think you are misunderstanding what a shotgun marriage means. A shotgun marriage means you knock me up and my daddy shows up at your door with a gun and forces you to marry me and raise the baby. You mean elope.
customer: hmm... nah actually i will take the shotgun marriage. At least then we would be having sex.

What is the ACV :water ratio ? I want to try it but I am afraid it may be too strong. I saw someone drink it and had tears in her eyes from the pain.

^A tablespoon in a glass of water is recommended, I use less water though as it feels like it will work better. Actually sometimes I used to do a straight shot on an empty stomach first thing but that=instant nausea and a burning throat so...

A shot....that's brave! I use a tablespoon when drinking from a glass/but normally add four+ to a litre bottle. A glass of water with ACV first thing in the morning is supposed to be cleansing, hydrating and is said to kick start your metabolism (water/lemon when taken before breakfast is supposed to do the same thing).

This is not a pill or anything. I always use to just drink the fiber drinks in with my tea or morning juice. I would get full and not want to eat. Come to think of it I should start that up again. lol

Nothing works. The only thing is tramadol - which is a moderate pain reliever - I can't seem to be hungry whatsoever when I take this. Also makes me feel like I'm in heaven. Food tastes mediocre to bad when I'm on this too. I only take it once a week. It was prescribed to me for pain after surgery but I had a bottle left. You can buy it online via an overseas pharmacy. It's the shit.
All that other stuff like hoodia and other herbal appetite suppressants are just as good as a sugar pill. Other stuff like stacker will make you tremble and sweat and basically feel like complete shit.

I know this is my first post, but I've been reading this forum for months and this is the first time I've had something to contribute...

tramadol does work, but it's an artificial opiate. i'm not going to lecture or try to turn you all off it - that's not my place - but it's not something i'd count on as an appetite suppressant, as it has both doping and stimulating effects, which isn't really a great combo.

This is kinda the pot calling the kettle black, but I thought I'd speak up. I love my amphetamines and I'm probably too fond of my opaites/tranqs, but this is a weird one...

^I'm not really looking into trying actual meds' (unless I need the product for it's original purpose), my liver probably wouldn't be pleased if I did lol. I've heard that a decrease in appetite is a common side effect from various medications, like Adderall etc, I guess this is another one.

Did you find it mostly just made you feel full overall? Or was it more of a fat burner?

i've had really good experiences with ginseng extract. i don't think it's supposed to be an appetite suppressant, but it's pretty much the only thing that has actually supressed my appetite. i'm an emotional/boredom eater, and there's not much that actually makes a dent in that the way ginseng extract does.

Really you need to retrain your body to stop craving certain foods..... then you won't even need appetite suppressants. Cut out sugar, dairy, gluten, grains and see how you feel after two weeks....

Well ... what I do is take 3 sudafed, and a half of a no-doz. Make sure you get the sudafed that's behind the counter, though - you have to take a card (it's next to the OTC sudafed) to the pharmacist, and sign for it ....

    works for me....
