Default Waitress first or just go back to dancing?

So, I would think that there would be a bunch of threads on this already but I DID search and didn't really find what I was looking for so...

My question is, are all clubs extremely lax about waitresses becoming dancers? The only club I ever worked at was the DejaVu in COI and let's just say they were EXTREMELY lax on just about everything....gross. I waitressed for a few months, danced for a few months, and then just quit and vowed to wait until I turned 21 so I could go to a nicer, closer club in OC. Now my b-day is in two weeks I want to start again at the DejaVu in Westminster. I wasn't able to find much about it on here but what I did read were only good things.
But.... since I didn't really dance for long, and it was over a year ago, I'm really nervous. Mainly about my actual dancing onstage but also everything in general.
So I think I might want to start out as a waitress first again and then transition back to dancing.
Will they be okay with that? Should I tell them up-front that I may want to dance or just wait until I'm ready and then ask? Or just suck it up and try to hit the stage right away??

I considered the waitressing first path and was told it wouldn't matter if I decided to go along that route. I can't see why any club would mind, but I only asked a few. From what I understand, that's actually how many dancers did it. I imagine seeing the money difference at the end of the night plays a big factor. I ended up just hitting the stage because I knew that I'd talk myself out of it if I didn't. To me, watching/anticipating was a hell of a lot scarier than just doing it, to be all Nike about it. I vote that you just strap on the heels and get to it, because (from my very limited experience) nothing is going to prepare you better than the first-hand experience.

I also vote for just getting back into dancing right away. You've already done it, so why not? If you do want to try waitressing first, I wouldn't tell them you eventually want to transition to dancing. Most clubs have more offers for waitressing than they do spots on the schedule, but are usually open to hiring more dancers. If you tell them you want to dance anyway, they'll probably pressure you into just dancing and will refuse to hire you as a waitress.

I think you guys are right, I'm just scared for some reason. I guess if I really want to dance again I should re-grow some balls.

Do you think it would help if I took a pole dancing class? The only place around here is pretty expensive so I'm a little hesitant.

It might help your confidence, but I think the general consensus on here is that pole classes aren't "necessary." I haven't taken any, but it'll definitely show if you try to get me on a pole, so I just avoid it and mostly do floor work for now. I want to get my own and learn at home soon, but since the pole is barely touched by most girls at my club, I'm not that worried. I was really worried about stage my first night, so to prepare, I watched a lot of YouTube videos on basic floor ideas and tried a few out in front of a mirror in my room. It was either the lamest or sexiest thing I've ever done, not sure which.
