Default Telling My Dad About My Job

Hey ladies, I'm sure this question gets asked a lot, but I tried searching and for whatever reason, nothing is coming up.

Anyway, I started camming about a month ago after I lost my part-time job. I live with my boyfriend who also works part-time (we're full-time college students), and even though he knows I cam and is perfectly fine with it, I don't know what to tell either of our parents... I mean, my dad knows my scholarship funds cover my half of rent, but he's starting to wonder how I'm making my car payments on time while paying for insurance, cable, etc. I've told him I'm using savings, but my boyfriend's mom just gave us $400 to "help cover rent", which, yes, is very kind of her, but I feel horrible because I'm not unemployed. However, his family is very conservative, and although my dad would probably be okay with it, I think it would still disappoint him even if he didn't say anything, ya know?

I know I shouldn't care, but I do. And I'm horrible at lying, so just saying I got a job at the local McDs wouldn't work. They'd ask too many questions...Ugh, I just hate all the stigma associated with camming/stripping/etc.

You could say you are working from home doing something like picking up jobs at Odesk. You could go there and create a profile or create a love advice profile at Keen . These are good cover stories as they are real jobs. Also you might actually find some work there and then it wouldn't be lying I was both a tele-psychic and a PSO in college. I just told my mom I was a phone psychic she thought it was hilarious. Good luck.

I'm lucky to have very open-minded parents. I told my dad and he's actually proud of me for using what I've got to make money, but he worried that he would accidentally come across my cam while surfing for porn and I told him I have our state blocked so no worries there lol. My mom isn't QUITE as open-minded about that sort of stuff as my dad so I told her I'm doing PSO stuff (which i am) and she said that sounds cool and maybe she should try that herself since she just lost her job.

My boyfriend's parents on the other hand are very conservative so I've been trying to work out my cover story for them if the subject of where's the extra money coming from happens to come up and I haven't though of anything yet. But I don't think I have to worry too much unless I start making a LOT because I get some financial aid money for school. Odesk sounds like a great idea though, hidarlin! Been meaning to check that place out for some extra dough when I'm not feeling so sexy, thanks for the suggestion!

You work from home as a freelance admin assistant/ sales exec/ mystery shopper/ whatever. Personally i wouldn't even consider telling them you cam unless you are sure this is a job you are comfortable and happy with, and you'd rather they found out from you than somebody else. If it's just a stop gap way to make some cash then don't bother. Why put yourself through the aggro. There's no going back from a statement like that. If you're lucky enough to have VERY understanding parents, then go right ahead.

I say by my own experience: If you don't want people giving advices about, and mimimi, don't tell you're camming. I told to two very close friends, one of them very open-minded, and for him it is so natural that he almost exposed me a few times (my other friend is a spiritual medium and told me I had a bad ghost beside me, making me be promiscous ¬¬, alright, promiscous fucking a rubber dildo ).

Now, I'm camming again, and I didn't tell it to anybody. Those close friends or not even my parents.

Your boyfriend is enough! He lives with you and divide bills to pay. If he's alright, so it's alright!

My parents would kill me if they knew ... I just got a part time job so it'd keep them off my back. Luckily it's a pretty cool part time job and leaves enough time for everything!

Anyway, search up some "work at home" jobs and use one of them. Do you write? Say you write for like "ehow" or something like that.

When I started in adult , I told a lot more people than I wish I had , including my parents I didn't tell them what I was doing, but they knew I was up to 'no good ' so to speak .

Letting people know was the biggest mistake I ever made , now I'm older and a trifle wiser , I tell people I'm a freelance designer , but the secret is out , I wish I'd kept it close to my chest until I had enough experience to decide if it was something worth outing or not... too little too late .

Not knowing your relationship with your dad in enough detail , I wouldn't know what advice to give you on whether it's best to tell him or not , the only advice I can give you , based on experience would be ... bide your time ... because once you've said it , you can't unsay it ! ....''Only jokkkking , I sell shit on ebay really !!!! ''

A funny story while I'm here ... When I told my parents , I told them only that I was doing the phone sex lines ....... We were on a long car journey , and I decided to bring it up , I sat talking to my dad about it , who wasn't best pleased , but took it well .... ( it was my moms reaction I was more worried about ) ... well mom sat in the passenger seat in absolute silence as me and dad discussed the ins and outs of my business* , I was delighted by my mom's silence ,and couldn't believe how well she was taking it .... that was until we pulled up in front of my house ... mom stretched , turned around ... asked how long she'd been asleep ... and then 'where were we? you were about to tell me and your dad where you've been getting all this money '' .... ARGH ! :-)
    Kisses.

What do you think the worst outcome could be if your told him? Like, is there any chance he'd be deeply, deeply upset, angry, or even "disown" you? I'm sorry if this advice seems painfully obvious, but if there's a chance, imo, don't tell him. My mother was deeply upset and angry when I told her, and that was enough to put me off telling my dad. She is still suspicious of me and whenever we onto the subject I am faced with guilt-tripping. I couldn't handle it. So I settled for the lie of "I get paid to do forum administration online" which I do anyway alongside camming, but I don't get paid for it, so it still feels kind of deceitful, but not 100% lie. I'm just glad my dad doesn't know.

I told my mom and other family a diet version of the truth.

"There are guys online that will pay for female companionship. I give them that."

Of course, my mom is a hippy and I was raised to be more than comfortable with my body. My dad is dead so no worries there. He probably would have been my best customer though, lol.
