    Thumbs up Back to the gym!

    I am so stoked I can go back to the gym @ 4 weeks post op :-) When you went back were there certain things you avoided (obviously common sense no weights)

    But minus that I'm cleared for light cardio. Not sure about ab work. Any imput?

    I think you can do abs but I found at the start certain exercises were difficult/uncomfortable because they hadn't finished stretching and dropping etc. Just do what you can and if anything feels sore or uncomfortable then don't push yourself to do it. Does your gym have instructors on the floor? Maybe ask them for some modifications. Im sure they see lots of fake boobie girls ie. bodybuilders who need modifications at the start.

    For some reason ab workouts were so uncomfortable for me until like 2 months after my BA. Running was uncomfortable cause I felt like my boobs were bouncing around (although I wore 2 sports bras). I avoided things where I had to put my boobs down (or lay facedown). I think I was only comfortable doing things such as the elliptical or bicycle.. so yeah. I stayed away from the gym for a long time.. 2 months.

    grrrr just remembering how literally 4 hours after my surgery my "friend" left me alone and I had to do everything in the kitchen myself. She didn't help me at all, just dropped me off and opened a pepsi for me. I blew thru my ramen soups and then had to CHOP VEGETABLES and I felt my whole implant jumping up on the right side. I knew it was wrong to be using my arms but I had no choice. It is now permanently an inch and a half out of place.

    SO GOOD THING you waited 4 weeks but I would wait even longer if I could do it over again. t-rex arms for 2 months!

    ^ ya I didn't lift my arms above my head or pick up anything heavier than 5lbs and slept sitting up 6 wks as per docs orders. I didn't wrk out about 3 months and even then most exercise was very uncomfortable. But some people bounce back so fast. Especially with full unders...

    I thought full overs were the ones that ppl bounced back from?

    ^ yes sorry overs is quickest but I have dual plane so full under is better cause my muscles have been dissected on an angle so there's more trauma plus half my Pec is no longer functional.
