    Default New People

Is it just me, or is there a strange trend of new people popping up in here all of a sudden asking random crazy questions lately.

I hate to say it, but these posts are becoming as annoying as the whole:

    *Show feet bb
    *Show ass
    *Can I see your face
*Let me see your outfit bb

If that isn't enough then WE have to deal with girls (are they even models?) coming into the forum. No hello, No introduction, No warming up. Just:

*What are the best times of day to work (bb)
*Where do you make the most money (bb)
*What are the best sites (bb)
*What site should I work on to make 1,000 an hour (bb)

It would be nice if there was a site just for those models and customers. At least all the beggars would have something in common.

    Just saying.

i'm probably in the minority but it doesn't really bother me that much. i lurked SW for a long time before i even made an account & i read just about everything but i remember thinking the same "crazy" questions that newbies ask a lot. if i wasn't so shy, i probably would've asked without thinking as well.

I remember being afraid to sign up with this forum! I lurked the site and searched. Then I finally had the guts to ask questions that were unique to the forum and my situation.

I got offended when someone said the newbies wouldn't last. Yeah, if they don't read, ask and research, they won't last. It's not bad to ask questions. There's no such thing as a dumb question imo

That is one rule I ever heard on this forum only. Search, search, search! Sometimes the search is wonky!

I always get those types of guys, but I ignore them too.

I am fairly new, been camming about two months now. I remembered I asked a question or two in the beginning (even made a thread to introduce myself, haha) but I cut that shit out quick, lol. I use the search function like it's going out of style, and I highly recommend it to girls who are more new than I am. I wasn't raised with a silver spoon up my ass... so the "green" girls shouldn't act like everything should be handed to them at their will.

You will also get more results, quicker, by searching. Why wait your time asking a question, and waiting for the answer, when you could be busy camming?!

(delurking for a sec) I'm not a cam girl, just really curious about possibly doing this. I can probably think of a million questions I had when I registered and so far I've found answers to basically everything by searching.

Of course these questions are asked over and over again. These are things that every new camgirl needs to know. I think of it like having an old friend and you have to hear their stories over and over again. It's the price you pay for longevity

Lol, it's not a "strange new trend". I've been on this site for over 2 years and this happens in spurts every few weeks to a few months. There will always be new people on this site who ask questions. I was lurker for awhile and so I pretty much read everything beforehand which saved me from asking too many questions but everyone is not going to do this. Is it annoying? I guess it could be if you let it get to you. But you can always simply ignore it. I mean they give you a clue what the thread is going to be about. If I see a thread titled "New girl here with lots of questions", then I assume that it's going to be a new girl who has a lot of questions. At that point, I can either make the decision to bypass the thread or if I'm feeling helpful (which I tend to be sometimes), I'll click on it and help the person out. It really is that simple.

As far as the introduction, that's up to the person. I did the whole intro thread thing and no one really acknowledged it so clearly it's not that important. Sometimes it kills me because on one hand people say "there are so many lurkers on this site". Well if you don't want me to ask questions and use the search function then that's essentially called "lurking". If I don't lurk and introduce myself and ask questions, then they get the whole "use the search function spill". It's like damned if you do and damned if you don't. I'm not saying that that these questions aren't repetitive but I don't see why it's just not easier to ignore it and let it go. And let's be real about it, we've all had questions at one point or another that have been asked before. It's really not serious.

the only DUMB question is the one where its OBVIOUS, PAINFULLY OBVIOUS, that the model is just looking for a quick answer. Laziness doesnt get ANYWHERE. I wouldnt waste my time on a model that doesnt want to grind , read, and get busy. fuck that noise.

I agree with you. If I don't feel like it or I feel like this person is just being lazy then I won't waste the time. My whole point is if you don't want to answer, then just don't. Like you said, don't even waste the time of even acknowledging it.

Right. It's not even a "trend" in camming connection. This happens in every forum on this site. Stripping general is filled with the same "how do I keep my motivation" "I got rejected from my first choice club - what do I do" "should I strip in my hometown" "should I say I'm single" questions over and over and over. Customer connection is bombarded by guys saying "I'm different - how do I date a stripper?" Life support is basically half-full of "I'm depressed" or "my bf's an abusive jackass" threads. If you look at any forum on this site over a period of time, the same threads repeat themselves over and over and over and over. In the past few months, there's been quite a few threads in here with the same exact topic being repeated: Use the search function. There have been like 3-4 threads that I've seen on this exact topic in the past 2-3 months... but people keep talking about it... It's not just camming connection, and honestly it gets annoying in every thread that repeats itself in any of the forums. But, like AvaMonet said, the only thing you can really do is ignore the ones you know have been answered already. I know it's frustrating to see people who think they're entitled to all the answers, but this happens everywhere on the site, and people either are helpful enough to repeat themselves for newbies or ignore them if they don't want to talk about the same topic again.

I've been registered to many forums, as long as I can remember, and there have been plenty of newbies that would ask the same questions over and over again. Is it annoying? Hell yes! Am I rude to them? Hell no!

Instead, I would point them to the right direction. That mostly takes 5 minutes, tops. Then they're on their way

Never have I seen people on a forum enforce the search function. It's a great idea; however, we shouldn't "scold" someone if they didn't think of using it. (It happens!)

As for the ones that want their hands held...Well, they're in the wrong profession.

It does seem like some people expect you to prove alot before they are willing to really speak to you here. Or as someone else posted you have to give before you can get...I'm not sure I agree with that. It's a forum for people to learn and communicate. That doesn't bother me much. Frankly it's like that on any forum. You just can't take it personally and just be yourself.

My nature is to lurk. I've never been to sociable. However every once in a while I do post. For me it kinda depends on my mood. Just being honest.

I've noticed here tho there's alot of assumptions with new sign ups. As if they are all newbs. Sure they are a newbie to the forum. Doesn't exactly mean they are a newbie to the business tho. I've always hated assumptions.

I've been camming online for 9 years. Likely just as long or longer than most here. I'm sure I have alot to contribute. And I'm sure I will when I want to.

I've been denied access to certain groups because I'm to new. Or I don't post enough. So be it. It probably won't change the way I act or encourage me to do more. I am just me.

i don't think this is really any different than our cam jobs. We choose what we will or won't do, because we can.
And here we can choose what we want to post. And if we want to bother responding, because we can.

So make your choices. Why worry about others choices.
It's nice to find advice when you need it. Not scramble thru alot of bitching about how you asked wrong or shouldn't have asked at all.

It's also nice to just feel normal and be around people with the same problems. Which is probably why I'm here. Camming seems like a very solitary job.You kinda get wrapped up in yourself ,your job, your clients.
So it's nice to just come here and see your not alone in what you do.

There's always going to be new people with questions. I tend to think tho it doesn't matter weather you give them your master plans, secrets or all the details possible they are either going to make it or they aren't. Because it doesn't matter what you know. It matters what you do with what you know.

Somehow I always manage to say something offensive or rude. It wasn't my intentions and if anything I said was offensive I appologize I've been up all night with sick kids, and I'm in the process of staying up all day with them also waiting for the moment I can take them to the dr. Which of course wasn't scheduled till afternoon. lol I probably only ramble when I'm tired.

Come to think of it that is about the only time I post. When I haven't slept.

^^^^This times 1000. There are like 5 freakin' 'how-to get started as a cam-" girl threads on here and honestly if people read even 1 of those, they would know 90% of what they need to know. But knowing how to doesn't mean shit. Actually being able to hustle and persevere is where the money comes in. If I made money based on what I knew, I would have been banking from day 1 but it's so much more than that. You can't teach motivation and hustle.

don't forget too, that for women who ARE new to the biz, that we live in a society that doesn't really acknowledge the WORK that sex work involves...think about the ads for webcam sites, "earn 1000's of $$ from your living room" , etc (the corollary to the ads that promise 'free sex' to guys who then annoy camgirls with stupid requests in free chat)
if you haven't done sex work, or known people who do, I get why a person would think that all one needs to do is find the 'magic' site, log in, and make mad cash...
the new people who do stay are the ones who have the drive and ability to persevere, but I can't be frustrated with people who don't initially understand how much work it takes to be really successful. They don't know what they don't know...I sure as hell didn't, when I first started.
the work we do, like all forms of sex work, is devalued by the mainstream on the daily...so preaching the gospel of effort and drive in a positive and encouraging way is a gift we can give to chicas new to the biz.
in a forum based on community and reciprosity, the relationship between us all isn't exactly 50-50, at all times, but over time it evens out, I hope at least. Hell, I've been here for months, and I still feel like I've gotten way more from y'all than I've given in return (as I'm in a very specific niche of the market and still figuring things out as I go)
I hope that changes, but it does take time, as does learning the culture of this forum.
that's all I wanted to say
    peace and $$$

I understand getting annoyed about newbies and the search function, etc... but making a whole thread to complain about it makes no sense to me. Just ignore all the newbie threads unless you want to contribute something useful to them. I've been here for 5 years and I still can't figure out the search button at times :/ It just seems like a very unwelcoming thread towards new members.

I can understand where you're coming from Lusty Laken but while you're talking about newbies asking the usual questions you have to remember that you're fairly new yourself. Checking your join date you only been a member here for 3 months so it's not like you have earned veteran status here yet.

On this site I've noticed that there appears to be a newbie vs. veteran status rivalry, it's somewhat cliquish, and it does come across as very divisive and unwelcoming. I can understand how the vets may be annoyed by newbies asking the common best "money making" related questions; however one has to consider that people will start threads that typically generate the most responses. If you guys are fed up with certain topics always being discussed then just ignore them all together; and as a result they will die off.

It's like Avamonet has mentioned it's " damned if you damned if you don't". If people don't interact in the forum they're being treated with suspicion and dubbed as "lurkers"; then if they do interact they run the risk of being chastised and judged harshly. Maybe people lurk b/c they're so afraid of being ganged up on if they say the wrong thing so they remain quiet instead. Just something that's need to be considered.

There are several girls on here who appear to have new accounts or appear to be newbies, but are not. A lot of us have abandoned our old "stripper" SW account for a cam ones so that our real location is not exposed. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
