Default Pretty Woman as a TODDLER?

LAWD! This stage mom was inspired to dress her baby up for competition as Julia Robert's character in Pretty Woman. WTF?????

This is sad on many levels. Out of all the movies she could pick, she chooses one about a hooker? Why not a Disney movie? I think Pretty Woman was cute, but the main problem I had with it was how it glorified street prostitution. I even had a dopey friend who thought it would be fun to be a street hooker and meet a guy like Richard Gere. The fact that I had to tell her that most street hookers aren't like Julia Roberts and getting a customer like Richard Gere is almost impossible says how people thought it was close to what it's really like.

OK?! I mean, clearly the mom needs a smack and is endangering her kid. How long will it be before she's pimpin' her out to "friends"? I'm actually surprised the pageant official went along with it. The little girl should have been flagged on sight. What's next, reenacting Caligula???? Oy vey.

It's not just the pretty woman girl, every one of those little girls is growing up with the belief that their entire self worth is tied up with how good they look and how others judge them.

That's not new or because of beauty pageants. You could say the same about dancing/caming/escorting. Or you know anything feminine in general if you really want to throw it threw a loop. And you can reverse it to turn it on guys too . I'm more concerned with the child pornography and rape vs future self worth that can be affected and shaped by the whole world we live in. Last year a three year old was raped for three days and then murdered in a hotel room who had never been dolled up like the little girls in those contest, so imagine what there attracting because of there parents.

It's not just things like this. Little girls are told from an early age how they must be pretty. Little girls are told from an early age that it's more important to look good to find a man than to develop skills to support themselves. The biggest moneymaking industries for women are looks based (modeling, adult industry, etc)while women are not often represented at Fortune 500 companies. Smart women are often ridiculed in the media. Until we really value women for their brains this will not change.

    Or Lolita.

Yeah, I'm all for reenacting costumes from movies, but what's wrong with kids' movies since this is, after all, a child's pageant?

Oy! I HATE that show, for the reason that my pedo calls constantly refer to some little girl they saw on the show, so then I think-WHO IS WATCHING THIS SHOW? WHAT AUDIENCE IS IT AIMING FOR? and whether they want to admit it or not, it's not women watching it, it's men jacking off to it-ugh! And these moms-I don't watch it, but I HEAR ABOUT IT CONSTANTLY-Botoxing their 8 year old's "wrinkles" and now this-dress like a stripper. If these moms thought about it, just a little bit.....ok, enough of my rant, back to regular programming...

we don't have many of these shows in the uk as we don't like seeing tiny toddlers dressed up as little prostitues and they're all dressed up as little prostitues!
