Default Toys: How to tell if they are high-grade silicone?

So I'm going through my toys and I'm going to demote all of the non-high-grade silicone ones to blowjob only toys but... how do I know if a toy is made of high-grade silicone or not?

I'm pretty much only going to use glass toys from now on, but I want to be able to tell which silicone ones I should keep and which I shouldn't.

    Thanks!

I honestly have no idea what the difference between regular and high-grade other than company name as I don't purchase cheaper toys. Do you know the company names? Or post pictures? The price can reflect the quality of the toy....how much did you pay for them, roughly? Cheaper it is, most often cheaper the quality.

Adam & Eve and Doc Johnson ones? I don't know how much is a lot and how much isn't. These are the realistic cocks or whatever. I'll probably keep them for blowjobs I guess?

This is just my personal opinion, but I think that the smell of the material can tell you whether it's low grade silicone or medical grade silicone. Medical grade silicone doesn't smell unless you put it up to your nose and sniff. The low grade stuff you can smell just taking it out of the package.

And ditto the higher price usually = higher quality product.

    Absolutely, I agree here 100%.

I bought a realistic dildo about a year ago and as soon as I opened the pack, the stench near knocked me on my back. It's a very pungent chemical smell and does not go away no matter how much your boil and scrub away at it.

I since found out that my dildo is actually made up of extremely toxic materials. Needless to say it has now went to the big Dildo Graveyard in the Sky.

Lost count of the amount of thrush attacks I got from that bugger. I had to resort to using rubbers on it, heh.

So yeah, PinkKittie is right... high grade silicone wont have the rancid stench that a cheap toxic one has.

I also learned that most of the poor quality ones come in vacuum sealed packages so as to disguise the smell when you purchase them.

I would check the website for the specific toy - it should tell you the specifics on there. And if it is not a reputable brand, does not have a website, or won't tell you whats in it, well, thats a clue that its probably pretty crappy quality!

I have had several guys ask me to buy a squirting dildo but after reading reviews, it sounds like they're all made of that awful material. It burns my mouth, no thanks. Plus I think keeping them clean would be a pain...

They are!!! Mine is at least. It STILL smells even though I've soaked it in hydrogen peroxide, washed it a million times, and have had it for like 6 weeks now.

Don't use silicone toys at all!

Squirting Dildos (Doc Johnson is the only one I know of that makes them) are made of RUBBER and CYBERSKIN. There is no big name high grade silicone companys that I am aware of that currently sell a squirting dildo.

Silicone toys DO NOT SMELL. They have no taste. They are hypoallergenic, non toxic, non porous and do not break down.

Glamour you probably own a cyberskin or rubber, vinyl or latex toy. All of those smell and taste bad.

I own silicone, cyberskin, and rubber ones. And glass.

Are you sure though? They may label it as "rubber" or whatever, but do they have the ingredient list to go with it? I am sure there are other bad ingredients in there.

I do have silicone ones, and I know they are silicone. Those are the ones I got a reaction from for sure.

Can I ask which company you got your silicone toys from. I buy from Tantus, Vixskin, and LeoLo. None of mine smell or have any taste. They're 100% pure silicone.

    Edit:

Just reread your top post sorry...Adam and Eve realistic dildo's aren't made of 100% silicone, if they're silicone at all - most are made of a rubber knock off material like Real Skin or Cyberskin.

Any realistic dildo with a suction cup is not 100% high grade silicone. I've looked. No high brand name company sells realistic dildos with a suction cup.

Those are the only brands I can remember because those I received online. Those and Hitachi. The other ones I have were ones purchased in a sex shop so I don't remember the names. Maybe I can go by soon and write down the brands.

I just bought a bunch of new toys that smell like....well ass. Not to mention they taste even worse! ts hard not to make faces when ding a BJ during a show. I'm assuming its a cheapo material one. Ugh wish I would've read this thread first. Do the higher grade, no smelly ones also have suction bottoms and softer consistency? I like glass but sometimes prefer these because guys ike the realistic look and its nice on my privates since its bendable and soft. Maybe I should only use it for penetration and not BJ?? lol

I learned of another way to test if a toy is high-grade silicone or not.

    Flame Test:

Light a match and hold it to the “silicone” part of the toy. If it’s real silicone, it will create a streak of soot that can be wiped away. If it’s not real silicone, it will melt and/or light on fire.

All of mine stood up to the test...black streak and it rubbed off easily.

According to that article naughtycamgirl posted, some toys may say they're silicone but they actually contain phthalates. Those can really make your pussy burn when you use them and are a definant no-no. I assume that's what you had Glamour. Was it a jelly-like toy?

I try to buy only silicone or glass toys but I do have a rubber dildo that's phthalates free that I like a lot. It doesn't have any weird smell to it and it doesn't cause any kind of reaction in me (and I have really sensitive everything). The problem with rubber is it's porous so it has to be replaces every 3 months or so.

I too, have been on a search for Medical grade silicone toy, that is realistic. When it says they are boilable, I believe they are medical grade silicone. I also have owned a toy by tantus that has a little hole in the bottom of it(where the removable bullet vibe goes) and you can buy a suction cup that inserts into the toy, but it sort of tilts to the side a little. It still works great though. You can order them off Amazon instead of paying an arm and a leg.
Here's a couple links(although the toy I want is out of stock in the beige color, and has been for weeks now). If you watch the review for the Mistress Dildo(scroll down on the Eden Fantasy's site) it shows you can suction it, and is boilable. I love Eden Fantasys because it tells the material safety of the toys, and some you can find on Amazon.

    Video for Tantus suction cup-

You may also be allergic to silicone and have developed antibodies to it like I did.
