I think we all can agree that can't live on giftcards....and have to hear a repeated stream of guys who ask if we can take them as payments. (Most are willing to drop extra on a giftcard, rather than pull out their credit cards to our payment processors, which are getting very hard to come by as continue to stop allowing adult transactions.)
This has been endlessly annoying to me because while I love Amazon giftcards, my OPI and shoe addiction will not pay my rent. But I still always feel like I'm loosing money when I turn away someone who was wanting to pay in giftcards.
So, I sat and thought about it and came up with some ideas. (not originally by any means - most of you might already know these tricks.)
Here's two simple ways to get your money "back" from a giftcard. Feel free to post if you have any other ways, and I can update this post.
Lets use Amazon Giftcards as an example. Amazon e-cards are always fast to receive (within 5-10 minutes max), you can redeem them immediately and use them to buy hundreds of thousands of different items on Amazon.com
Example #1) This way takes a little longer, but you might even get back extra $ in the end. So you stock pile and save your giftcards - purchase a large $100+ item (Electronics/Game Systems/TVs/etc... - With most items on Amazon you can get free shipping on orders over $25 so you won't have to worry about that)
So you get your item, keep it new in the box. Put it for sale on Craigslist as new in box (say you got it as a B-day present, you do not want/need it.) You can price it above the retail value or keep it the same.
The second option is to post it to eBay. If you put it up for auction you could get MORE than what you paid for, depending on the item and make the buyer pay for shipping. You will at least break even.
Example #2) The simple way, just turn around and sell your giftcard. E-mailed or physical - it doesn't matter. eBay auction is the way to go and you can do this with any giftcard. You may have to pay a few eBay fee's but you'll still be making 85%-90% of your profit back in Paypal cash - that's more than we get from any mainstream camming site! Or you might get really lucky and some retard will bid above the giftcard dollar amount and you'll end up profiting from it.
Either way, you're #winning

But I still always feel like I'm loosing money when I turn away someone who was wanting to pay in giftcards.
