Default If You Dance in NYC - Tighten Your Belt

Sorry ladies but the latest estimates are that Wall St. bonuses will be DOWN 20% over last year. Like it or not, Wall St. is the engine that drives both N.Y.C. and N.Y. State finances. Not only will this create budget holes for both the city and state it will affect both economies as a whole.

Governor Cuomo has admitted that the overall economy is expected to decline based on this and other factors.

Tighten our belts more? Jeeze, Eric, aren't you just the bad news fairy! I know they say not to shoot the messenger but....

Bonuses have been declining for a few years now. And I'm not surprised to see the trend continue. I'm curious if the Occupy Wall Street phenomenon will have any effect in the coming years.

Do you think clubs will attempt to cast a wider net, getting more middle-of-the-road custies to spend some $$$, rather than trying to cater exclusively to the big-kahuna custies that can spend tens of thousands of dollars once in a blue moon?

I swear, some clubs have the narrowest tunnel vision when it comes to customers. I just don't think that it's wise to see the writing on the wall and ignore it. Bonuses are down, profits have to come from somewhere. Something has to change and the Strip Club Industry NEEDS to adapt.

My belt is tight enough as it is....

IDK about hookers when you got cheap ass extras girls in the club doing shit for the same price as a clean dancer, ranging in 3 figures. That may fuck(no pun) hookers over too.

All in all though. No matter what the economic whoas are, men are still going to tune into "adult fun" to help forget about shit.

I think you will see the rise of the Financial Telecommuter. Most of what they do is over the phone and the internet anyway.

Denying them access to the building, has just proved the younger generation right, and the old guard wrong.

Wall Street adapted to 9/11 by moving their data centers and information storage out of Manhattan.

Now you will see the decline of the Wall Street financier actually working on Wall Street.

As Wall Street adapts to street protests and the occupation of Terrain that the financiers don't need to control.

The irony of the Occupy Wall St. protests is that the true objects of their ire ( Goldman Sucks,Shittybank, Morgan Stanley etc. ) do not have offices on Wall St. They moved out years ago.

Manhattan clubs more than most. I almost never club in Manhattan anymore. I just can't stand the churn 'em and burn 'em approach that is employed in most of the Manhattan clubs. I spend what many would consider to be a lot of money on this hobby each year, but $300+ bar tabs (6-8 drinks for myself plus a certain number of dancer drinks plus tips) and $600+ VIP/CR rooms hold no interest for me - especially when I can simply drive over the 59th St. bridge and cut those numbers in half while maintaining good quality standards.

IDK, maybe there are enough whales, tourists and partygoers, the predominant customers in the Manhattan clubs IME, to keep the $$$ flowing into these clubs, but I also know a number of folks who make the trek into Queens in order to regularly enjoy their club visits.

    Anyway, just my

Yeah but they've been using that model for decades and are not likely to change it.

Great point, many of these "financial telecomuters" will also be spending their new found earnings on cam models, and the beat goes on....

I told you so. I told you so. Goldman Sucks just posted its first quarterly loss since 1999. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch of vampire squids lol.

Idk Eric, but I'm sensing that you may have issues with some of the large investment banks. Names like Goldman Sucks and Shittybank were kinda' tipoffs.

Another one? Idk Eric, I'm still waiting for Goldman and/or its senior execs to be served on criminal complaints relating to their "lies" to the Senate subcommittee.

But I'm not so sure that I'm surprised about investment banks taking losses right now. The markets ended way down for the quarter ending 9/30 and underwriting activity has been anemic...

Had to bring this back full circle, so...

I agree that the NYC clubs have always worked off of this model, but a man can dream. It would be nice to not have to hike out to Queens to visit enjoyable clubs.

Was there direct evidence they spent their earnings on Strippers? If not, no beat to continue.

However the same Financier could now work from Suites in Las Vegas, NV and avoid income taxes. Courtesy of the "Occupy" crowd it is proven they don't need to be on Wall Street at all and the "Market" is anywhere.

However that is even more Money flowing out of the Rotten Apple not likely to return.
