Default transition from dive dancer to gentlemens club

so before i took my leave like a month in a half ago for my breast aug i was working at a total dive. i have it as a option to go back if i want but i'd like to go else where. in honest opinion is it a little to ambitious to try to get into a gentlemens club this early in the game. there's only one truly higher end club here and they try to act as if they have hellafied requirements. when you watch the girls, i don't see them doing any circus olay its just that they have basic or maybe slightly more pole skill. awhile ago someone told me that the club required 2 yrs pole, 2 yrs dance, and 2 yrs club experience. dance and club i've got, while pole none.

i did notice too that girls who work at gentlemens clubs always look so put together. where is dive dancers are like whatever they might by strung out but didn't take time to get it together for work.

i'm thinking maybe use the dive a little longer to get my look and things together and move on from it. that way i'm still working but i'm getting my pole practice in as well. any thoughts ladies?

Just go apply at the fancier place. The worst that'll happen is they won't hire you, and then you can just go back to your dive and try and shape up if you still want to try out the fancier club. So many girls put upscale clubs on such a high pedestal (who did you hear from that you need all that experience??) above themselves, when in reality they could probably get hired and make money there. Walk in like you own the place, flaunt your new titties, and you'll probably end up getting the job.

I completely agree with Shanna! Confidence is everything, and your new boobies won't hurt either!

This for sure. The worst that will happen is that they won't hire you and then you can go back when you feel that you have improved on the feedback that they gave you.

I started out at an upscale gown club....you may end up finding that it isn't all it's cracked up to be. I prefer dive clubs! Good luck, though!

_elle_: please elaborate on that. i do know a few girls who worked at upscale clubs and then later ended up at dives. i was always curious as to why, but never asked them. me i prefer nicer atmosphere but my one friend made a mention about to many rules and people being full of shit.

My current dive vs. my upscale gown club of two years:

Schedule requirements: one five hour weekend dayshift a month vs. 3 days a week, 2 slow shifts per month

Fees: I keep everything I make vs. 50-60 in fees and tipouts, plus them taking their cut of dance money

Shifts: I like my short shifts! Dive shifts are five hours vs. the 7-8 hour shifts at the gown club

Customers: No bar, ufc fights, or crazy events at the dive- guys come to see strippers. vs. "Ohhhh I just came for the wing special or to hang out and watch the game or whatever."

Management: Great and uninvolved vs. playing favorites, taking customer's side, etc

Outfits: Gowns and getting all dolled up every night can get expensive- several of my gowns were over 100 dollars each vs. wearing whatever the hell I want- whether that be a fancy outfit or some cutoff shorts- it doesn't matter.

Sorry for the long post...and obviously my case doesn't apply everywhere- it's just some things to think about. My upscale place fired for no reason whenever they felt like it, will tell you to lose weight if they think you're getting too heavy, and was so strict about meeting customers outside to the point that if they suspected prostitution they'd get someone to check up on you outside of work. It was a mindfuck and the guys there had some sort of sense of entitlement where they expected you to sit and talk forever for free in hopes that they MIGHT spend money. Overall...dive club treats me more like the independent contractor I am rather than an employee. Sounds crazy, but my dive customers have been far more respectful to me than the guys at the upscale place.

The upscale place was gorgeous inside and the atmosphere was great- but your friend is right- lots of rules and bullshit.

Sorry for such a long post!

the only reason i really bitch about my dive is because. bossman tries to run our club as if its a high end club. like we get paid to dance which is nice but we have to sell drinks like crazy. if we don't he takes our pay and we have to pay to work. i'm a paid girl i just started workn for him so i'm a 70$ girl. then after i start making for him as far as drinks on a reg then you move up to 100 then 150 thas just for showing up to work. but its crazy. 70 means every night means 6 drinks or more. to move your gonna have to try for 11 or more. 100 = 10 or more to move up thas 20. 150 thas almost 30 drinks. there are no fake drinks so thas practically how every many shots to the head. its extremely hard on the body. we don't have dances or even a champagne room. we have champagne but its hard as hell to get someone to spend money like that to sit out in the open with everyone else. when your sick he fucks you over. like even if you tell him ok i'm not gonna be able to come in this day ( so he can find a replacement)or you stop by before the night before your shift he tells you find someone to fill your spot an if you can't he he just takes whatever it is he pays by 2. so me being a 70 dollar girl i would lose the money for not being able to come to work that one day plus the following work day so thas 140 hes a fuck ass.

Certainly go in and try, I've never heard of ANY club requiring 2yrs experience to get hired. That sounds like bs to me.

But honestly I'm with Elle, I much prefer dives and mid-range clubs to upscale. Atmosphere is more relaxed, you can wear what you want, staff and dancers generally get along better, usually less girls working there, lower fees. Plus being one of the hotter chicks in a dive bar vs. blending in in an upscale club.

But that's just me, personally I like working in a friendly atmosphere and a lot of upscale clubs are just too uptight for me and too much pressure to be perfect which puts me off and stops me making money.

upscale have alot more rules. the managers watch you like a hawk to make sure you always on the floor.
i like to take breaks in the back and if theres no money on the floor im not going to let guys oogle me for free :/
at upscale clubs the managers are all in your shit all the time. i miss my dives where they leave you alone!
honestly i make about the same $ at dives and at upscale.
if youre the prettiest girl in a dive youll make the most, but the customers have less to give.
at upscale customers have more to give, but u may not be the prettiest anymore.
    the money is usually similiar.
i say go for the upscale so you can know what works better for you.
