My core clip store is this one: https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/12...ing-federation

So all clips are ''Strip wrestling matches, where both girls endup nude/nearly nude, then one ties the other one up and straps her in a nappy (diaper) to win the match''.
I vary each as much as possible with different combinations of girls / different clothing / a few different humiliations which happen to the loser by the winner after she's won... ect
But ultimately the core basis of every single clips is the same, it's a strip-wrestling match.

Each clip I release is extremely popular (I can only realistically release 2 per month without canabalising my sales), but almost every clip has made it into the top 50# list for entire site,
with a few making it into the top 10# even.
So they are very popular, plus I market my brand loads via pornhub, and a few other 'female wrestling' forums, which is the only reason I actually get any clip sales.
But for me as I have to hire the models + studio for the day, each clip costs me $200 to produce ($350 for 4-girl matches), and so I need to clear that amount of net profit in clip sales purely to break-even and avoid losing money, let alone actually start making any money! :/

But so I worry alot about sales drying-up every, as for me each clip I release starts in a loss of $200, and so I need 18+ sales just to avoid losing money.

I am going to also try advertsing more the offer of 'custom videos' for customers though,
as ultimately those clips would have the production cost fully covered by a single customer inadvance, and so no financial risk to me.
Yea that is definitely a little bit different than my store. In your case, as much external promotion as possible would be your best bet. Since it is so niche exclusive, do you have a blog that links back to your store?

Don't have a 'blog', but I post all my preview clips onto pornhub & xvideos each month (with a direct link to my store), and each of those videos gets around 2,500 views in it's 1st month.
Also posted 2 full-length matches for free on pornhub + a 6minute promo trailer, and they all got 30,000 - 60,000 views in 1-2months (my Youtube version of the trailer is nearly 100k views now).
So basically all of my clip store traffic comes from hits via pornhub or youtube.

I do promote on twitter, plus a few of the models who feature in my clips promote sometimes (and cos they all got 60k+ followers on twitter it helps abit).
    I also promote on a few nappy-fetish forums + women's wrestling forums.

Just worry alot incase sales ever do start to fall off though, rather than increase... :/

    I also own-
    https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/134723/nappy-brats

    +

Am launching a 'modern-day reality-style storylines' Spanked then Diapered clip store today (Spanked Skanks) which hopefully will have a mass-market appeal.

The verbal-humilation clips (Nappy Brats) barely gets any sales sadly though. :/

Whats the name of your clip store though?

It’s nothing personal towards you, but I don’t post my store name or earnings from clip sites on any forums. I do post my cam earnings in the challenges but my name is not at all affiliated with my cam name/persona lol. I’ve seen a lot of hate and trolling, not in this forum necessarily, but in general. And I actually have some family members who had considered stripping, phone work etc who have stumbled upon and actively lurk here lol. I’ve not posted any free vids to increase traffic. I may in the future, I’ve yet to decide. I typically try to update frequently and have just recently linked to my Twitter. I don’t have a ton of traffic, my traffic numbers are laughable in comparison to most ladies here. However, my traffic converts, which is the biggest factor for me. Is there anyway you can bring production costs down?

So updates are not showing on the front page OR the category page right now but they are in store? The new search however seems to be working perfectly. My store hits have drastically slowed down today now I know why.

The front page seems to have frozen at 1.45am except for the very first clip. Usually when this happens the category pages are ok but not this time.

EDIT seems a little better now like things are being sorted but still not right.

Aw ok that's completely fine, I respect your preference to maintain anonymity.

In regards to my production costs though, sadly I couldn't reduce them, as I'm already getting very decent rates.

*The studio hire cost is £180 for 8hours.
    &
*The girls are paid at a rate of £60per each wrestling clip (approx 10minute per clip), but so each want 4-5 clips per shoot-day.
(And they are all famous professional glamour-models from the TV babeshows, so really are the ultra top performers in the UK currently!)

I have a different question now though-

    I own 3 clip stores-
    https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/12...ing-federation / https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/134723/nappy-brats / https://www.clips4sale.com/studio/137239/spanked-skanks)

*The strip-wrestling brand has been going for 6months now and is consistently extremely popular.
(I upload 1 clip per month, soon to be 2 per month. but have been getting 1-2 sales per day, every day consistently despite me selling at $2 per minute price; Top my catergory, Plus all clips make it into the top 50# list of entire clips4sale website!)

*However the verbal-POV brand is far less successful in sales rate!
(Cost of producing these is much lower, but as diaper fetish + fem-dom POV are both extremely popular fetishes I'm shocked that I'm barely getting 1 sale per week for this brand!) :/

*And the spanking clips brand only launched yesterday, but yet I'm concerned that views aren't converting into sales! :/
(I uploaded previews onto spankingtube.com, each has gotten 3,000+ views on there in 1day, but my clip store itself gotten barely 300 hits, although have gotten 3 sales of 1 of the videos, a G/G one).

But so my question/request is would anyone on here be kind enough to review my bottom 2 stores, and suggest any ways that I could possibly improve them/or rather their sales quantity??

    Thankyou inadvance

There is something odd going on with the categories. They don't seem to be updating/refreshing like they used to, which was several times a day.

Snippet from a recent message in the Admin:

"What about re-posting old, previously posted clips?
Clip posting rules have always stated that clips can not be removed and re-posted.

All content posted to the site must be new, never before posted clips.

Studios are not allowed to scam the system - meaning we do not allow studios to repost old clip content in an attempt to have a clip featured more than once in the "Recently Updated" lists."

    ------------------------

I see a few studios do this all.the.time. I didn't think it was against the rules though, I just thought it was just something they frowned upon.

I *think* I can see why some studios do this....to have something to post every day even if they don't have new clips, and also to give older clips visibility again *in their store*. But unless they modify the original file in someway (which IS against the rules, as it's done in an attempt to bypass the C4S system), then I don't see the benefit.

I had a clips store years ago that I closed and I've added some of those clips to my current store. The files were recognized by C4S as having been uploaded to their site once before (even though it was years prior) and so they did not show up on the Main Page or Category as NEW updates. Thus NO visibility for posting a "new(old)" clip. So the only benefit I could think of would be is that those clips might "look" new to someone viewing your store page, as they are at the top of your page.

I guess what I'm saying is I don't see the problem with this as long as the original file isn't modified in an attempt to bypass being recognized.

Since I don't do this personally (exception of the clips from the previous store), I do wonder if it's worth the effort. Perhaps studios see more sales of older clips when they repost them and put them to the forefront of their store page.

I do take issue when people break the rules to gain an unfair advantage. I work hard to produce new content and upload every day without fail. Very rarely I will put together a 'bundle' but I usually can't be arsed with that as it takes longer to edit and upload than filming something new. I'll use the new bundle thing when it's live, but there is a difference between bundling up old content and re-releasing it cheaper, and re-uploading old stuff as new.

If it does work that the system shows an old clip on the 'recently updated' parts then that's completely wrong and unfair. Studios can just sit on their arses and recycle old stuff while the rest of us produce new content. Some studios have tens of thousands of clips so it would be easy to make something look new. A quick edit to make a new file and there you go.

Perhaps a way round this would be to have more different options to display our clips in store? We can only default to new-old and old-new I think? I know customers can order them differently but if we were able to change the order say alphabetically by clip name, alphabetically by category, in order of largest category etc then we could reshuffle the stores as we wanted.

Mind you, I have enough to think about...I'd rather keep it simple!

I personally don't understand why anyone would waste their time trying so hard just to make their clip/store show as updated on the site, as I bet less than 1% of guys actually go onto clips4sale to search for their porn! lol

    Guys use Google or Pornhub to search daily for porn, if a link on there/or from a pornhub video takes them to clips4sale they then endup on c4s;
But extremely doubt many guys start their search on c4s.

So visibility on the front page has virtually no real impact on sales.

I can't agree with you. Of course, guys look up for porn on pornhub etc. but on porn sites, mostly you will find regular sex. If a guy has a fetish about balloons, what can he find at pornhub? Well, maybe he will find a couple of vids there, but not as many as on c4s. C4S is in the game for many years, and guys who have fetish knows about the site very well, as it spreads on the fetishist forums. A guy with a lipstick fetish will rather search something about it on fetish forums, and he finally will end up on c4s. So he will quickly use c4s to search his favourite things rather than googling it, and he will stick with it for good. Being on the main site on updated stores isn't that important, but being in updated category list is, since I assume guys with specific fetish go straight there, at least that's what I would do if I had some fetish ( since I don't care who's at the main site if most of the studios aren't important for me, what I care is go straight to the category that interests me the most)

Just read your post again ( sometimes I read to fast, not analyzing it) So in one you are right, guys start from google- but if they have a weird fetish they end up with c4s for good. But still have to say updating and being in a front page have an impact on sales because being on the front page, puts you in updated category list and that have a big impact on sales.

Totally agree! AND...guys who are searching C4S are looking to BUY. They know it's a site that SELLS clips, unlike the FREE tube sites. Now I'm not saying that there aren't some guys who don't just jerk to the preview gifs and there aren't guys who don't click through from the tube sites to C4S and BUY, I'm sure there are.

I have been uploading clips to tube sites to increase some traffic, but google analytics and the C4S traffic stats report show the overwhelming majority of my traffic is internal. I still drive traffic from social media, and tube sites do actually have a lower bounce rate than I thought they would, so they probably are converting a bit. However, clicked through from my categories is the main driver for me.

Tubesites don't convert, all you're doing is improving their SEO. I just search for "Leilani Lei" the first two results on google are xvideos & xnnxx
I suggest you make a blog and work the SEO and drive traffic to your store.
The front page of c4s needs an overall, it's cluttered with text. When I go there, it's because I already know the store Im going to or searching for a particular performer.
I thought C4S gave your enough internal traffic so you wouldn't have to seek external sources hence why they take 40%.
    Are you looking at me?

That I cannot really advise you on as I’m newish at C4S but perhaps it may have something to do with the category title. Some are just over saturated, domination included in that. Other than that or the wrestling category, will they fit into another?

    From admin

    1. File Format: We are reverting back to our original rules with regard to the number of alternate clip formats/resolutions that can be uploaded for each unique clip while we further investigate a file format solution that will be beneficial to all studios, as well as our customers.
The maximum allowed uploads is reverting back to FOUR (4) FORMATS per Unique Clip. We strongly recommend that your clip is exported in the highest resolution available to you. NOTE: The most popular and preferred file format by customers is: MP4

WARNING: Do not spam updates by adding miscellaneous and duplicate clip formats or more than four (4) versions of the same clip to the site.
We recommend uploading only the most popular formats which are:
    HD MP4
    HD WMV
    SD MP4
    SD WMV

So again we can upload 4 formats per clip? They changing their minds really fast, right when I was fine with uploading two. Now I will go back to uploading 4 formats since a lot of studios will do that...I was fine with uploading two since it was way less work for me...

Does Google Analytics actually show from where your paying customers came to your site from??

(As I'd be very keen on knowing that info)

I guess it must be very different for different categories.

As for me most of my traffic comes from my advertising on Pornhub and YouTube.

I released a 6minute promo video on YouTube a few months ago, which is now upto 125k views, the Pornhub version has 60k+ views,
plus the 2 full length videos I released on Pornhub have 50-60k views.
And on my Pornhub channel I have url link to my store, plus at the end of each preview promo video I put link to my c4s if customers want the full length video.

I check the stats in my store daily-
For each month I typically average 4,000-5,000 hits, however only 250-400 of those are from category listing, the 3 above that are from a womens wrestling forum where I list each new clip release/link to my store's preview video, and then top 2 are Google or my store's direct URL link (Pornhub).

However as pointed out I sadly have no way of knowing currently what % of each category are actually converting to sales... :/

    One quick question though please-

My spanking videos store features mainly M/F spankings, but a few F/F spankings.

Currently my store itself is listed in the 'Spanking' category (which has around 2,500 studios),
But all my clips I list in either the 'M/F spanking' category, or the 'F/F spanking' category, (both have approx 700 studios).

Is this category listing setup for my studio/individual clips the best one though please to optimise visibility?

Or is there be a more clever setup then my current one?

    Thankyou inadvance

Not paying, just the "What pages do your users visit" section of google analytics to discern source. I also look at referrer bounce rate and session length. We can't specifically see what users are purchasing, but we can see what users have the typical highest value (long sessions, low bounce rate, etc)

Not all hits are created equal. You can get a high number of hits from one source, but they rarely convert to sales. And then you can get a smaller number of hits from another source that converts really well.

The only way that I know of, to tell where a customer/sale came from, is to have a tracking code used in your link. Much like what affiliates use to get credit for a sale through a paysite. But C4S doesn't have this option for clip producers, so.....

    Thankyou for your answers.

If you also would be able to help regarding my other question about my studio category listing vs clips category listing setup that'd be massively appreciated please?

REVISED - Allowed File Types as of March 01, 2019

As of March 01, 2019 the following seven (7) video formats and two (2) audio file format will be the only allowed formats uploaded to our servers. Please see the important highlighted comments below regarding the number of alternate clip formats/resolutions per unique video which will be allowed. We are reverting back to the current upload limits while we continue to research the best solution for everyone - studios, customers, and Clips4Sale.
    What is Clips4Sale's Ultimate Goal?

In addition to reverting back to the current upload limits for alternate clip formats/resolutions, the new search allows a customer to sort out formats/resolutions they do not wish to see which allows them to filter out unwanted clips. Our ultimate goal is to allow only one (1) HD file to be uploaded per unique clip and then give the customer the ability to choose the file type they want on download by converting files on demand to other formats and resolutions. As we get closer to being able to offer file conversion on demand to customers we will update studios so you have enough time to transition to the new upload system as well.
    Recommended Video Format:
    MP4
    Alternate Video Formats:
    WMV
    MOV
    AVI
    MPG/MPEG
    M4V
    MKV
    Recommended Audio Only Format:
    MP3
    Alternate Audio Only Format:
    M4A

FILE TYPES NO LONGER ALLOWED AS OF MARCH 01, 2019
    3g2
    3gp
    asf
    divx
    flv
    m1v
    m2t
    m2ts
    m2v
    mpa
    mpe
    mts
    ram
    rm
    rmvb
    rv
    swf
    ts
    wav
    xvid

IMPORTANT NOTE: We will not be removing any currently uploaded and activated content in the above noted formats, but as of March 1st you will not be able to upload any of the file types listed and you will not be able to activate them on your store.

BEST UPLOADING PRACTICES & RULES FOR CLIPS4SALE

    HD MP4
    HD WMV
    SD MP4
    SD WMV

Studios that abuse clip updates to be featured repeatedly on the "Recently Updated" lists will have their clips deleted from the servers without notice. In addition, studios who continue to violate this rule will have their stores blocked from being advertised in the Recently Updated lists - stores will no longer appear on the lists once blocked.

    2. File Specifications: The following are the stated specifications for all video clips:

ē Clip file size must be no greater than 4GB
ē Clip file duration must be greater than 2 minutes.
ē Clip file size must be greater than 1MB.
ē Clip file name may contain only alphanumeric (abcdefghijklmnopqrstuvwxyz 0123456789), hyphens, and underscores (e.g., my_vid_1432.mp4)
ē Clips file names should NOT have any additional periods (e.g., myvid.1432.mp4)
ē Minimum clip dimensions are 320X240

    3. Resolution: You should be focused on uploading the highest resolution clips possible, which would be 4K clips, and if you do not yet have the ability to film in 4K then the highest possible resolution should be your sole focus for any editing and updating.

    4. Clip Time/Length: Avoid cutting clips 10 minutes or less into smaller parts. Try to have clips which are 10 minutes+ in length as they tend to be the more popular length purchased by customers.

    5. Clips Descriptions: Always write a clip description that is at least three (3) full sentences which accurately describes what is happening in the clip. Customer feedback has shown us that they rely on the clip descriptions almost as much as the clip image or clip preview when deciding whether or not to purchase a clip.

    6. Custom Keywords: Always list the model's name as one of your custom keywords in your clips. It's the easiest way for a customer to find their favorite model when searching on the site.
    FAQ
How many brand new clips can I post each day?

You can post as many brand new, never before posted clips as you like to your store.
    Remember:

Avoid cutting clips 10 minutes or less into smaller parts. Try to have clips which are 10 minutes+ in length as they tend to be the more popular length purchased by customers. We do consider any clip cut into multiple 2 minute segments spamming, and your store will be flagged for this behavior.
What about re-posting old, previously posted clips?

Clip posting rules have always stated that clips can not be removed and re-posted.

All content posted to the site must be new, never before posted clips.

Studios are not allowed to scam the system - meaning we do not allow studios to repost old clip content in an attempt to have a clip featured more than once in the "Recently Updated" lists.
What is the most popular clip format and specs?

    MP4

    H.264 Video Codec

    AAC-LC Audio Codec

    16.9 Aspect Ratio (horizontal)
What are the most popular clip resolutions?

    HD 1080p (1920x1080) @30fps

    Video Bitrate Range: 3,000 - 6,000 Kbps

    4K 2160p (3840x2160) @30fps

    Video Bitrate Range: 13,000 - 34,000 Kbps

How do I know the correct resolution for my clip?

Industry standard states that it's the height of the video which determines the resolution.

For example, if your clip is 854x480 then it is a 480p video. If your clip is 1920x1080 then it is 1080p video and so on.
The height is more important than width, because you may have 3:4 or 16:9 aspect ratio which could give you different widths for the same height. So the industry standard is to name the resolution by height of video stream and not the width. See other examples in the popular clip resolutions noted above.
What size clip should I consider an SD clip?

480p (854x480 = 16:9 aspect ratio) would be considered a standard definition clip.

    Video Bitrate Range: 500 - 2,000 Kbps

If you choose to post in SD, this would be the option we recommend.
What should I do if I see other stores not following the rules?

Please let us know, you can even contact us anonymously - https://support.clips4sale.com

The rules are in place for everyone so that all studios get the same amount of exposure and customers have the best experience on the site too!

This is all really helpful, thanks everyone. C4S has mostly been driven sales to me from my categories, but I am trying different things to try and bring in more traffic. Thanks everyone!
