    Default Competition

I am so sorry if there is a thread on this. I have been dancing at my club for about a month, and I am the only black girl working there currently (which I love, because that already gave me an advantage over the other girls in the diversity department). This new girl came in last night who is also black and is gonna work there starting tommorow. Our club is in the sticks, and business went down hill some due to old management, so on some days it's hard for any girl to make $. She may be bringing a friend or two to also work there.

I am no drama queen, and am happy that we have more girls so we can have more time hu$tling than doing stage work. This girl use to work at a big popular club in DC and I'm still "new" to the industry. I just want to know how to maintain my self-esteem, how to still make money despite the competition (especially no longer being the only one of my ethnicity), and I just want to know if you all had similar experiences and how to deal with competition in general. Thanks.

Wow. Is this a legit question? Well im'a take the bait and answer.
What ive learned on hustle hut and from experience is that there will always be competition and the only way to beat it is by improving your hustle. You can learn how on hustle hut which has lots of great tips. However even with the best hustle skills youll get guys who just wont be into you. I dont think race really has to do with anything these days. To guys hot is hot. Whether black, white or asain i think most men these days are color blind. So you being concerned with another black girl being there is just silly because most men just notice hot girls in general regardless of race. Like i said improve your hustle and 10 black girls being there wont make a diffrence.

i meet a lot of black dancers with this mentality (i had the same mentality when i was 1. it's a sex industry lie perpetuated by mgmt that "we're trying to keep everything balanced" and "see, you're the only one, now you get all the guys who like black women" and "we don't want to change the atmosphere of the club too much". it's the basis for race quotas and it's bullshit.

it's great that you already know that the cure is self-love and self-esteem. however, you are letting your SELF-esteem rests in the hands of others (customers who buy from you, dancers who are _______ than you). you love yourself, not because you're prettier than or make more money than or are better liked than, but because you are wonderful and smart and charming and talented and healthy and take such good care of yourself and blah blah blah. that is the work! loving yourself like crazy. the world will find you irresistible after that.

i suspect you will have a really positive experience from this new dancer, even if just by observing how well she does her job.

Just don't worry about it. Dancers come and go. She may too, but your customers will like you, for you(don't mean to sound corny or anything)

I view competition as a challenge. I've been in the industry for 7 years now, and let me tell you - if you let other girls effect how YOU feel, then you're not gonna do well. Yeah, they have the same skin color as you, but so what? I'm blonde, I have a ton of blonde coworkers too. But I have curves and natural D's, and you bet your ass I play that up.

I got some fantastic advice from a girl once (Michelle McGee, actually - worked with her in San Diego and OC before the whole Jesse James scandal).

"It doesn't matter what you do or how you look - be the best at it. You wanna be blonde? Be the best blonde in the club. Other girls have tattoos, but not like me - I'm the QUEEN of tattoos. Be the top girl in whatever category you're in, and you'll do well."

I understand that it's hard when you're still new to the industry, but take it with a grain of salt. Use any competition to motivate yourself! Plus, you never know what you might learn from her!

    Good luck, hon!

Get fake tits. I'm not being sarcastic. If you don't already have them get them. In this arms race having the biggest guns is ALWAYS an advantage. There is always gonna be competition.

So, you don't think any other girl is your competition unless she's black? Okay.... Well, every woman at the club is friendly competition for you. Do you really think a white or Asian or Latina girl at your club couldn't snag a man's attention from you? Every girl there has something new and exciting to offer the customers. There's no reason to think that just because the new girl is black that you're going to hit it off with the same customers. In Vegas my biggest competition was an Asian girl and I was a blonde barbie type, but it was because our personalities were similar. The same guys would always fall in love with either one of us, or both of us. Luckily we enjoyed working together and used it to our advantage. Stop being a racist and try to figure put how you can work better with the other girls at your club.

Right I shouldn't be concerned with other girls of the same race working there. I should just work on being the best I can and focus on my own hu$tle. I have been to strip clubs where the worst looking girls (at one club one girl who was clearly on drugs and looked worn out and old for example) got more dances than some of the best (on her hu$tling alone).

Yeah I definitely have to play up my best assests and worry about myself, because focusing on the next girl can and has messed up my money before. I have nice boobs, booty, and legs...and a fit body. So I can just wear more outfits to accentuate those things. I have learned some things from the girls who have been in the club before I came...so I guess I can learn something from her.

Sorry if it came across as wrong, but I didn't mean it that way. I am not a racist either lol. I just meant that I felt she would be a bigger competition because I wouldn't stand out as much...IDK silly now that I think of it. Your right, different guys like different things, especially when it comes to personalities. I just have to work on my own hu$tle. Some girls can dance better, some have more of a model type body, some are stick thin, some are thick, some fat, some bitchy, some sweet, some more flexible...just gotta work my best qualities and assets to my advantage.

Competition is just a word. If you walk in knowing you're hot shit then nobody can touch you. "I think therefore I am". That's the difference between me and other dancers. They think they're hot shit I KNOW I'm hot shit.

Don't let this chick occupy space in your head. That was a mistake I made. Go in like you're hot shit make your money and be done. Game over.
