I don't know. I just don't camming is easy enough for everyone to come "rushing" in like that. I mean I do understand everyone's concern. But generally when people hear about camming from websites, tv shows, promoters, studios, etc. it's usually attached to a claim that they can make thousands of dollars in a short period of time basically working from home for a couple of hours a day. We all know that's bs. Noone ever tells these girls, that they'll be called fat when they're a size 6 or ugly when they're really not. Nor do they warn them that they may sit online all day and make $20. I tend to not worry about these girls because most people aren't driven or motivated enough to make this work for them. Camming is so simple but it's so much work. If I weren't so damn stubborn, I would have quit after my first day when I made $2.50 in 2 hours but I'm just not a quitter. Hell my head hurts now when I think about how I have to wake up in the morning post on my blog, snag some more followers on twitter, take some more pics, buy another wig and a new corset and get my ass on cam all weekend because it's been so slow. I haven't even gotten my foot into the clips world yet. I love this job, don't get me wrong, but it's a lot of work and the average girl can't do it.
I mean look how many people have come and gone from these boards in the last couple of years. This industry is not for the faint of heart or the weak-minded. Hell I get called some stupid name at least once a week and I just laugh at it. Sometimes I turn his ass into a paying customer. But everybody can't do that. Not everyone can deal with the uncertainty of the income. Not everyone can work 36 hours straight like I just did to make my goal. Especially the average "employee-minded" person. I say let their asses try but they won't last. I wouldn't worry about it. It takes a special girl to do what we do and be successful at it.

The way I see it is that there a lot of unemployed people desperate for ANY job, and taking jobs they are extremely overqualified for just because SOME money is better than NO money. Put ANY job advertisement or industry in the media as being a quick $$$ thing, and those industries just get FLOODED quickly. It doesn't matter if they are making $8 an hour -- they will be happy and stay because its SOME money.
Most of the girls who have come & gone on here so far are ex-dancers or people that heard that cam money is AMAZING (all of the real cam girls know how hard you have to work), and quit because they aren't making $1,000 in 4 hours everyday. Many go back to dancing or escorting because its faster, easier money for a lot less work. Those girls are COMPLETELY DIFFERENT than the type of camgirl this industry is about to attract.
The type of cam girl this show is going to lure into our industry now is the type that are DESPERATE to make ANY kind of money and would even settle for a $7/hour job if they could actually get one. Lets face it. Most people can't even get minimum wage jobs right now. They will take ANYTHING no matter how little it pays. These people are USED to working 40-50 hour work weeks for little pay! This job can be lucrative with hard work, is flexible, is easy, and doesn't take gas money or a lot of initial investment money. That's why I think these new camgirls and camcouples will keep at it versus the ones that have came & left before.

I'm absolutely going to be downloading this one - something to watch while I update my social media, get ready and get my area set up before I start work next week....LOL
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

Hear me ramble about random things:

Oh he's going to belittle us! I have no doubt about that. He's going to say how we're destroying families, destroying our lives, selling our soul, have low self-esteem, etc, etc ,etc. But look at it this way, that won't affect us existing cam-girls. We've heard all that crap before. But for the ladies who may be thinking about doing it, once Dr. Phil bashes and brainwashes them, they won't want to do it anymore. So we're just gonna hope that we get enough exposure to get more business but enough Dr. Phil-bashing to keep potential new cam-girls away. Win-win![]()

Of course they are going to belittle us. It gets them RATINGS and that's all they really care about. I bet the hosts (Dr. Phil in this case) has a coach that tells them what they can & can't say to make the episode ~*controversial*~ (aka $$$$$$$$), but that also won't stop new cam girls desperate for any kind of job from getting into the biz.
Someone post the download link after it airs so we can lol at it.
Thanks for posting this and the original documentary would air on OWN this Sunday. Here's a link to the sneak peek video.

Thanks!
Looks likestreamate is the feature site. I wonder if they'll flash the logo? Or did I miss it in the preview?
I want Sierra's closet - I hope she gets a bunch of hits as a result.
re: smoking girl in the preview who is the voice of the risks - I can see how people could get addicted to the attention (esp if they work sites like MFC where having a crowded room is strongly encouraged) but camming hasn't made me any less introverted, it probably has made me more so. Wallflowers ftw.
This is exciting

I guess us non-US birds won't be able to watch it![]()
Im watching it now...
Comes on in my neck of the woods in 20 mins. I'm conflicted. I'm ready to laugh because I already know what stance Dr. Phil is going to take (and his outrage will tickle me), but the thought of over saturation from this type of exposure also worries me. And it's never the competition I worry about necessarily because it's a proven FACT that the majority of people who pursue this line of work aren't cut out for it (and top out at a year max), but what the average customer will be trained to expect. It's a vicious circle.
This will be interesting, nonetheless.
OK, now I'm watching.
Dr Phil is wearing a lot of spray tan and foundation in one shade - contour bb, contour. /petty
Why is he berating the woman hurt by her husband's porn addiction? That is unexpected.
I missed the lion share of the episode and forgot to DVR it but maybe it'll be on demand. Im more looking forward to the full documentary on Sunday - thanks EbonyMuscle.
I lied, I'm raging. My patio door is open and I'm sure my neighbors can hear me alternating between yelling "SHUT THE FUCK UP!" and laughing.
The hell are they worried about telling their daughter about what they do in the future??? You're not ashamed to come on national television and talk about it so telling your daughter should be no big. I mean really. People and their wonky senses of "morality" kill me. When and if I have kids, when they're old enough to understand, I'll own up to being an industry performer PROUDLY. What exactly is the big deal?
I need to watch this sometime. Sounds interesting!

I've never understood why women get so upset when their man watches porn.

so far the story is going better than i expected. i think its because the real show is on lisa lings new show on OWN on the 16th. other wise it would probably be the same ol type of dr phil show.. lisa also did cut dr phil off saying when she did the show she did not want to do it as passing judgement or whatever cant wait to see her show about it
of course that follows with a kid who hates that her dad did porn smh
still here.... just in another chapter..
They're insecure in themselves and their relationships and instead of admitting that the issue may lie in their relationship with their SO or themselves, they'd rather blame the fact that porn exists in the first place. Don't get me wrong, he's weak for not making more of an effort to work through his addiction, but this woman...makes me want to wring her neck. WE are not to blame for YOUR husband's problem.
I also wish people would examine what addiction constitutes. He's addicted to the chemical release, not exactly the method (though it is the most accessible and legal). So the fact that he has a penis doesn't factor into this at all, really.
And on another note, the woman before her who claims her life all of a sudden spiraled out of control because she found out her father did porn...wut? I'm not seeing the connection here. If her father had simply had sex with a lot of women, would it still be such a problem? Does the fact that he made (makes) money off of it add that extra "oomph" of shame?
