I've worked with a number of girls who had nice thick hair, got hair extensions and after a year or two of having them taken out and put back in ended up with really thin, weak hair. A good friend of mine now is looking into spending thousands to get her hair laser repaired because hair extensions and over bleaching has given her bald spots (and she's only 21).
I've never had them to maybe I'm not the best to speak on it but personally I don't think their worth it in the long term.

For that, I rather use a good wig. I'm afraid to wear any type of extensions, although I have clips ins and barely wore them.
I've seen a girl at work who had extensions for a while, after she got them removed her real hair looked longer and healthier to me. Still don't know if she got bald spots, never asked.
IDK, I think some girls have good luck with them and the majority don't.
All extensions can damage your hair depending on how they are applied, especially if done incorrectly. Braided extensions & clip in put strain on your real hair, as for keratin bond not so much since it's done strand by strand. In this case I've seen my girlfriends hair look healthier as well. I know just from seeing girls go from having extension to not, their hair always looks less full because the extensions gave them more body.

^yep, something like that. I don't really know much about it but apparently they give you a lot of expensive hair products that you have to use in a specific cycle to promote healthier hair and do laser treatments to stimulate growth. She hasn't gone through with it fully yet because it was $2000 and she had other more pressing commitments but can update you if I find out more. Probably best to just do a google search though![]()
From what i know the lasers promote blood flow which helps the growing cycle. Other than that i don't know much

Thanks Amareth for the info on hair laser stuff. Wow it's expensive! Googled it.Maybe a good alternative is doing gentle hair scalp massages daily.

Interesting article!! I've never worn hair extensions (although I've thought about it once or twice) because I just wouldn't like the feeling of having the braids in my hair - although maybe keratin bond would work.
But I feel the way I feel about bleaching the crap out of your hair to get really intense colors...wigs are easier to maintain and much better for you!
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

Even the clip ons do that your hair? I love my clip on bangs!

^ I broke off part of my hair for sure with my clip ins but probably no more than I do with pony tail holders and other up-dos
