I've had molluscum contagiosum for the better part of a year. I'm not overly concerned about it because my doctor said its in the same family as chicken pox and it goes away after a year or two. Plus, I've had only about three bumps along my inner thighs pop up and I quickly had them removed. What does bother me is how I'm getting them. The dermatologist said that its mainly transferred through skin to skin contact, but I'm not having sex, sharing towels or clothes, or coming into contact with anyone in that area.

I got to thinking. Could I be getting these bumps from the pole?? They have all appeared where my legs wrap around it. I know the chance of spreading a virus through inanimate objects is slim, but I don't think there's enough time for it to die before it is transferred from the first girl to the next one up on stage. I've taken the necessary precautions. I disinfect the pole from top to bottom every time I go up (I don't care if I look like a spaz), sit on a cloth that I carry around with me, and carry antibacterial hand soap and use it throughout the shift...haven't seen another since. Ugh, strip clubs are DISGUSTING.
