we had a club meeting on thursday with our new gm. he advised us that we were to do away with our $25 dancer cocktails(of which we kept $12 from each). so now we r set up more like most other clubs. i have worked both types, so i have a bit of advantage oversome of the others. the changes were supposed to go into effect the following weds. so we would have about a week for advertisement to circulate, prepare for hustle changes, and make regulars aware of changes. we come into work friday (the day after the meeting) and they decided to start the new setup early. we were already dead because of a nearby music festival and the shrimp festival, but we all did horribly becaue the customers(who would have bought us dancer cocktails all night and do not get dances or vip) couldnt seem to understand that they needed to pay us to sit even after they bought us a drink(reg price). most of our reg customers like just to sit and hang out, but act offended when we ask for tips(we werent allowed ask for or accept $ unless it was onstage or as a cocktail). any suggestions how we can conditon customers to the changes and adjust our own hustles? anyone else ever have your club change overnight?
