Angry When B*tches STEAL your SONGS!

I am friends with a few ppl on FB from work.. But seriously I dont know why anymore but thats another thread.. Anyway today I posted some songs on my page today b4 I came to work.. I did a dbl shift.. so I arrived at 4.. at 9 the shift changes and here comes one of the girls dancing to the song I posted on my page.. Like seriously I just posted that song 6 fukkkin hours ago! There was another girl that asked me what my song was then danced to it every day! What do you do in a situation like that.. Should I just delete them off my page.. (people take that very seriously) Do I go and dance to the song too? Its soo annoying I spend time to find these songs and these girls take my shyt! Should I just take it as a compliment and keep it moving.. Im slightly bothered by this bc its the second time that particular girl did it-- and then she acts like a cunt about and its like not only did you stalk me but u swagger jacked me.. UGH!! So annoyed about to get my period.. somebody say something!!

Unless you wrote and released them, you don't own the songs you listen to at work. Grow up and get a bigger music collection. If you don't want people biting your style, don't post what you like, on FB or other networks. People listen to music and take it around with them. Duh. You aren't the first person to like those songs and you won't be the last.

This is such a stupid argument in the strip club, I swear.

Depends on the song. If it is a current hot song then it was probably coincidence. I often danced to more obscure music so when someone danced to most of my songs not only were they ripping me off, they in fact were dancing to my CDs! I got into a huge argument with a DJ over this because he was playing my music for other dancers though I never gave him permission to do so.

Personally I wouldn't post a music playlist online where other dancers cold see it. I also wouldn't add many dancers I worked with if this was the case. Then again I danced long before social media.

    ^^

Yeah, I dance to a lot of more indy/underground stuff. I had an unreleased Diplo mix-tape that featured MIA stuff way before 'Paper Planes' was hot, in clubs. Chicks would comment on it all the time. Maybe if the DJ was just sniping my CD's I'd get mad but that's never happened. I've even had fellow dancers ask if they could borrow my music or play tracks they liked for their own sets. Of course, I would allow it. Again, I don't own the principle song so I have no protective entitlement. I just don't see getting so wrapped up in your stripper-identity, based on music. Its not a Best-Dancer contest, every day.

I think you need to get over it, (and I dont mean that to be cruel; it is just I had a girl once bitch at me for playing her song, and it really is ridiculous) Yes, that was kind of ate up that they took your song suggestion right off your page. But, it is not YOUR song. I'm with vivianbear, you didn't write it. Don't you have bigger problems in your life to worry about? I bet the girl who played your song does. When you hear a song you like, and you are not on stage dancing to it, get the next best thing and go do a dance to it. Or, if you really think she is your friend, talk to her about it, and tell her-hey I really like dancing to that song, will you not play it and let me have it?

In my case (don't know about the OP)but the girls were not asking to dance to my CDs they just were and the DJ never asked me if it was fine. A few of them I wouldn't have cared but still it was rude he played my music for them without asking me. For me the music was part of my stage set and I often choreographed moves to certain songs. Now if they were popular songs (and certainly songs off CDs I didn't own)I wouldn't have cared. I know during my heyday a popular song was Closer by Nine Inch Nails and everyone danced to it. Obviously that is different than something that I brought in.

I don't see the big deal. Why'd you SHARE it on FB to begin with?
Bitch? Actually I'm an evil cunt. Slut? Try dirty little whore. Either way, you have to pay for it.

Nobody "owns" songs in the club. Whoever gets on stage first gets to play whatever the hell they want. And freaking out about another girl dancing to "your" music just makes you look an idiot.

Just because someone else is dancing to something doesn't mean you can't also dance to it?

You need to realize that from the DJ's point of view, they are playing 20 songs an hour over a 6+ hour shift, and each girl has her own individual style of music. Sometimes those styles clash, and girls end up wanting to dance to the same thing.

Dance to a STYLE of music, not specific songs. The more open you are, the better dancer you will become. I'm sure you don't get irritated when you're giving a lapdance to some other girls music, same should be applied towards the stages. As long as it's not completely off-base (like tribal drums or polka music), go with the flow and if it really bothers you, give your DJ a LONG list of music he can play for you and just be happy with that.

Chances are, you aren't the only one having this problem, and you aren't the only person that HAS ever had this problem. I've heard it at least once a week for the last 4 years. It's so trivial you end up ignoring it or playing those songs on purpose for other people.

Thumbs up Re: When B*tches STEAL your SONGS!

Thanks everyone for your input~ I was pissed off that day.. and really it is true that I dont own the song.. I just thought it was ridiculous that after I had posted it.. she was dancing to it. I really wanna just delete everyone from work off of my fb page in the first place but people look at it very seriously.

As for the music-- what can I do? There are bigger things to worry about.. I just wanted a place to vent and see what others thought.. Its not that big of a deal just annoyed the shit out of me! Thanks all!

Only annoys me if it's something that *I* had put on the computer and it's supposed to be in MY folder and not available for general use. Ya know?
It's annoying because I'm basically the only person who dances to the shit I like at... every club I've ever worked at... and I'm not used to "sharing" songs.

I'd take it as a compliment. You posted it, she liked it and decided to dance to it.

Whenever you post things on fb that you don't want your work friends to see, just set the privacy so they can't see that particular post (like music that you want to keep to yourself). But, realistically, if they like your taste in music so much, they'll probably still ask to dance to the same songs once they see you dancing to them in the club. They can dance to whatever they want to, so just make sure you have a large repertoire of songs. If you have enough that you're willing to dance to, it shouldn't matter if a couple other girls "steal" a few throughout the night. If you're really that hell-bent on dancing to a certain song one night, just go talk to the DJ at the beginning of the night and ask him to play it for you during your first set.

There's only one girl at my club who dances to the same style of music as me, but our lists (both of which are like 20+ songs) are almost IDENTICAL.
Personally I think it's cool. Even if we both dance 4/5 sets in a night, there are enough tracks to go around, and like I said, we're the only girls who dance to metal. Although I admit it helps that she's more than happy to 'lend' me a song now and then (she's been working there far longer)

I personally don't give a shit if ppl dance to my music/ if i accidentally dance to someone elses 'song'. My primary reason for being at the club is to make MONEY, not to dance to the coolest music. I dance to whatever suits my mood that night and thats about it.

That being said, I do understand where the OP is coming from when she said she posted her music on FB and the girl went n danced to it. I suppose that would aggravate me a lil as well :s

And it's nice to actually hear some music that you actually like when in VIP! I'm often the only girl dancing to heavier music, but I love it when others are working, so I can enjoy myself in the back once in a while.

The DJ played a song for me that our best stage performer (imo) dances to.. It's a super sexy song and the girl oozes sex appeal; I felt like I was under so much pressure.... *sigh*

Just do what I did. If more than 1 person asks for it, either the first person gets it or nobody does.
