No, I just can't believe you're accusing someone of 'swagger jacking' you when they just played a song that you think you own. Did they also copy your outfit, and steal your pole moves, and your strut, and your laugh, and your make up style? Doubt it.
I don't get swagger jacked. I wear 7 inch clear heals and guess what? I'm not the first. I wear sparkly make up and costumes... not the first at that either. Its sad if you're depending on a song to make you stand out. It is sad if what you call your swagger is so easily 'jacked.'

This reminds me of this one night I walked with a girl after work to the nearby Subway. We passed the stripper outfit store on the way(which is located next door to my SC) and I pointed an out fit out in the window that I wanted to get. She was like 'meh it's ok'. WELL the next day I come to work and she's dancing to one of my songs (bobby v-your smile) (which isn't a very popular song btw), AND she was wearing the exact outfit I pointed out. Did I care? Nope. Imitation is the best form of flattery.
ioienvyioi, you are an influencer to these girls with your music taste.
You have discovered a beautiful thing. Use your power wisely.
!!"You have figured out how to make women chase you"!!
Maybe you could make a top ten list or even a newsletter that they could sign up for.
Once you figure that out, there are soo many ways to monetize it.
You can even run an auto responder from free email accounts.
Stay one step ahead of your posts that you are giving them.
Have one or two songs that are top secret (how ever you work this out)
Throw those in near the end to tease them.
If you do this right, you can have your finger in all their pies without even removing the g-string. And they will pay you for the priviledge.
If you don't think there is money in it, think again. Google's getting rich off ten cent ads.
Remember 2 in the front one in the back. The first one's always free but it is a teasing slight graze. Your back end is where the money is. "Shake your money maker and then..." (James,1961)
Be polite, be generous, but "know when to show the dick", (me,2011)

LOL, dont beat yourself up over it. Technically, they're not "your songs", you didnt sing them, nor are getting any sort of monetary payout for them. They belong to the club/dj, and I can almost guarantee you, you dont take care of the dj's(and not by paying him $5 either), for not playing "your songs" for other women?
You walk up to the dj, throw him a $20/or $40 and say" I dont give a fuck who wants you to play it, DONT, or you dont get another dime from me, certainly not something like this anyways". Chances are, he wont play it for someone else, unless you're off that day, IF you look out for him CORRECTLY(also, continue tipping him, and pointing out that you'd prefer him/her to play only those songs for you). It's just a song, you should be able to dance to ANYTHING, if you're a good enough dancer.
No disrespect, but I dont tell you how to dance, what to wear, or what to/not to do etc., dont ask the dj not to play stuff for someone else, and ONLY you. Hate to be harsh, but you're not that important.
Keep in mind, there's only 2-3 people that can tell the dj not to play a song:
Mgr/GM/ and owner........if you arent one of those three people, or fuckin/blowin one of those 3 people,....you most likely, will get no sympathy. You're not "entitled" no matter how long you've been there.
Again, not trying to be a dick, but Im a dj, and I dont listen to ANY dancer who comes up and starts in with the "you're playing MY song(s) for so and so...blah blah blah". Throw me a $40/$50 and say "I would appreciate you NOT playing those songs for anyone else, BUT me, as long as Im working. You can play them when im not here. If you do play them for me while Im here, there's more of this where that came from", and stick to that(meaning tipping them). Imagine what good repoire with a dj gets you, or your approach does?
Remember, YOU dont "own" those songs, they're not "YOURS", they're his, and the clubs.
They cant "steal" something from you, that YOU dont own yourself........

I hear you girl!!!
I put a post up recently about a girl stealing a big prop I use in my shows and this is what I got in return:
a.) you cant own anything
b.) your are not original everything you have done has been done before
c.) be flattered
d)
oh and lucky last
e) get over yourself!!!
So unfortunately every body thinks everything is fair game in SC these days, I am pretty old school however and I don't. Some girls just don't understand and they will just have to learn. Tell the bitch: that's songs mine get fucked!!!lol joke... kind of
I'm selfish, impatient and a little insecure. I make mistakes, I am out of control and at times hard to handle. But if you can't handle me at my worst, then you sure as hell don't deserve me at my best.”

If you own the copyright on these songs, then surely these people owe you money. If not you have nothing to complain about.
I've had a girl at work do this to me. The first time I shrugged it off and thought "Hey, maybe we just have the same taste in music" until I caught her looking through my music book and writing down the names of songs she liked (and were ones that I dance to regularly). That's when I got upset. There are bound to be songs that a few people have/dance to but to blatantly write down almost every song I have (Which is roughly 300) really got to me.

Sorry joined in a bit late but better late than never.I work with Envy and she is fucking gorgeous Unfortunately being the industry professionals we are there are certain things we must accept as inevitable and that includes people that will inevitably pick songs that we like to dance to.
I usually employ "preventative" measures to ensure I'm not copied. Dance to obscure shit that nobody has heard of. I scour Vampirefreaks band pages for up and coming industrial and metal bands that want their shit heard. It works 90% of the time. I know I won't find you dancing to Murderdolls anytime soon, but try looking for underground house/techno/hip hop or local acts. We have an awesome music scene here in Philly.

Girl, stop putting your music up there!
I have a different philosophy. I want to people to hear and like the new bands I find. I'm like a pusher who wants everyone hooked on my shit. I'm already working on the new DJ to get him playing what I like on and off stage because it puts me in a good selling mood. I even teach chicks how to dance like me so we're like the Hot Chick Mafia takin' the place over!

OKAY?! I had a chick steal my hairstyle and come in staring at me triumphantly like it was officially over for me. The next shift it was a different color, different texture and still bangin'. You can swack me all you want. I got a million of 'em and it lets me see I got haters and groupies.

I kinda get where the OP is coming from.
Especially when you work in a smaller club and a lot of times, your music can set you apart.
(and if you're busy, you're music lets you know when you're on stage...)
I would be really upset if I PAID to download songs, PAID for a blank CD, and took the time to create a CD personalized for me and some girl started dancing to a song on MY CD.
To me, it would be like borrowing an outfit without asking..... :/
im glad im into more underground music...so the girls at my club never know. i couple have asked me for music suggestion, but i feel like get your own music DONT BITE STYLE. its annoying as hell
scared money makes no money

Wow.. I read this over again after I originally posted..
which is now a year ago..
Currently I run a stripper outfit business and now on my fb page i post songs --on purpose --so people can find new music.
People like what I post and while I have their attention they check out the current merchandise.. So I turned it into a positive thing..
I was def pmsing when I wrote that but Im glad I figured out a better solution..
thanks for letting me vent that day and thanks to the people that seen past the bitching and could actually relate-- I know we have all had it happen to us at one time or another.. and if not your music sucks or youre just not that cool... LOL..

Haha one of the best replies in the history of SW...
I don't know how I missed this one, except some shit was going down around that time. If it's really distinctive music, I am much more inclined to be sympathetic. Especially if the woman is a good tipper. If it's the same old PopTop40 shit or the latest Rap, and she never tips more than minimum, I don't really want to hear about imaginary ownership.
