    Default Good idea?

So I plan on dancing a couple times during the week. Before I can even think about checking out a club I know I have to take some classes and get my body right. I danced before for about 2 weeks, my shyness took over and I left the club crying almost everyday because I would make a fool of myself when I was on stage. As I was talking to one of my friends who used to dance she told me I need to create a whole new personality while I'm in the club so i don't let it take over my personal life. Anyway.....I was planning on dancing sometime next year (probably February). In the meantime I would take some classes from this woman who used to work at Magic City and I would have to eat right and exercise like crazy.

I was just wondering for all you newbies and veterans does this sound like a good idea?

Only if you actually plan to stick to it. Just speaking from how I know I am, I constantly make a list of "I have to do this, this, and that before I go back to dancing" simply because I'm nervous and putting it off. Do I have to change my hair color, buy some new outfits, perfect my "stripper look", check out every club in the area, and lose 5 more pounds before I go back? It would be nice, but realistically no. I can always change little things about myself as I get the money from dancing, and I know just going back to dancing would probably put me in shape quicker than me pretending that I can stick to a proper workout schedule for more than 3 weeks at a time.

Dancing is one of those things that really doesn't require a whole lot of prep-work, and as long as you're fit/attractive enough, you can usually just start and work on things as you go. I'm guilty of trying to over-analyze what I "need" to start stripping again out of pure procrastination. So, if you have a plan, stick to it and don't just over-procrastinate because you feel like you're never perfectly ready. (I'm trying to tell myself this every day lol)

you're on stage for probably less than one hour every shift, much less time on stage if you work in a bigger club. so it doesn't really make sense to pretend like success in dancing is based on what you do on stage. but if you were crying every night when you left the club, why put yourself through that again? it's okay if dancing is not a good match for you.

I agree and honestly I do not want to go back to dancing, but my job now as a Medical Assistant I make barely enough to pay my rent and that's with my parents helping out. I need some type of extra income to keep my daughter and I afloat.

If you feel dancing is what you need to do. and you think the stage process was your only part that made you upset; then I would suggest putting together about 5 songs that you know you LOVE and can really FEEL and put them on over and over and maybe even have a few drinks and make up a routine to them. The more you play it, and dance, the more something will flow. You may feel dumb, but just remind yourself, soon you will have an audience. Confidence in dancing comes when you start to make money, not when you get good. I danced for years and never had a solid routine on stage, actually I probably sucked up there. I never really tried or cared. I made money and that is what mattered to me. Don't forget to smile and give eye contact. Also look like you are having fun. There is a saying, fake it until you make it. If you look like you are happy, comfortable, and having fun then they will believe you. Also, you are new, you have to LEARN how to do it. You'll learn better and faster if you are in the enviroment. Don't pay attention to the other girls on stage, you will compare youself to them. You are not them, you are a newbie, you have to learn things at your own pace. You can also ask some girls who are being nice and talking to you to teach you a few simple tricks on the pole, a trick can take up time and make you feel like your doing something "stripper like" up there. Besides the dance on stage is only a small part of the "sell of the dance" to a customer. Good luck.

Why would you have to spend money on classes to become a stripper again?

    Save your money.
