Default Remember me!? Hi!... uhh... no.

You walk up to a customer he remembers you but you cant remember him.

I remember names and faces of customers that have spent upwards of $100 pretty well. And guys that come in routinely and get one to three dances.

Lately I've been getting customers that got a few dances from me weeks or months ago that come in and expect me to remember their name. And if i don't its a sale killer.

Are there some solutions to getting out of this delicate situation?

If you can remember something else about them, concentrate on that. Like "Oh, I'm so sorry, I am so horrible with names, sometimes I even forget mine hahaha." Follow that with "I remember how great a time we had, your dog so-and-so, your job, etc etc".

I really hate this... why do people everywhere assume you will remember them? God, even at my serving job the other night, I was cocktail waitressing a banquet and a customer was like "Hey, do you remember what I had for dinner last night?" wtf? No? I don't even remember you being a customer...

I tend to do what papillonluvr said. I often remember faces or little things about something we talked about, but not names. Sometimes I'll ask for a name - sometimes I won't. I'll just be like "oh, how's your son? Did you have fun at *whatever event they were going to*?" I went my entire time in my first club not remembering the name of a club regular who I met my first day. But I recognized his face and knew little things about him that I'd make conversation with. If they insist on being like "what's my name?" make fun of yourself for your horrible memory. You could try turning it into a joke - like "Well, in my mind I was just thinking of you as Mr. Rock-hard-biceps, so your real name kinda got pushed out." If you can flatter them and make them laugh, it might help with them not getting angry. It's definitely better than getting a panicked look on your face and going "uhhhh...." lol

For me, if I remember a guy it's usually because he disgusted me somehow.

I get this problem but with people who visited on holiday the previous year. We might have spent 5 hours in VIP but I'm not going to recognise them a year later!!
I make notes on my customers in my work diary though, so i can say 'oh my god, I remember you! Wow, how long ago was that?!' and then find an opportunity to run to the dr and check my book.

It seems like the customers I remember are rarely the ones who remember me.

I used to keep notes on the ones who came in and spent a decent amount of money, but it's so rare that they actually come back it doesn't seem worth while anymore. I do tend to remember faces, and often I'll see a guy sitting at my rack and just have a gut feeling that he either likes me or remembers me. In those cases I just do the classic cheesy pick-up line: "Hey, I feel like I've met you before, handsome!"

Even if we haven't met, they're usually flattered and it's easy to strike up a conversation from there.

"I'm so terrible with names but I definitely remember that cute smile" Giggle etc. Say something flattering/charming to try and make up for it.

Thanks I'll try some of those lines. I've been doing the panic-eyed-doe-in headlights-thing.
