I have heard the world's youngest grandmother was 24 as hard as it is to believe that. I had a friend who had a sister who became a mom at 16 and her mom was 16 when the sister was born, which means her mom was 32 and a grandma. I know a few my age at 40 who have been grandparents a few years. One couple had a baby at 16 and their daughter just had a baby. Oh and I knew someone in school who became a mom at 14 and her mom was 28.

Creepy and really reminds me of the phrase that the stupid people are having kids. This is true because there have been studies stating the more educated one is the less likely they are to have kids.

^ Kelly that statement is just ridiculous. Yes young girls can be stupid because their parents are to scared or don't care enough to educate their kids about birth control, I'm glad my mom nad I were open and she took me and got me on the pill when I was a teen. A girl I use to dance with and traveled with briefly( a playboy playmate) was a grandmother at 37..........hottest 37 year old grandma I've ever seen but yeah a bit ridiculous when girls are having babies so young.

As someone whose mother was 15 when she got pregnant, I find the sentiment that people who have children young are just stupid really offensive. Teen pregnancy is a result of so many more things than just being dumb.

My mom became a stripper to support me and worked her ass off to get back to school and is now making a 6 figure salary. She got pregnant at 15 because she didn't have a mom, her dad was a drug dealer, and she didn't know what safe sex was. The only concept of love she had was sex, which has nothing to do with being stupid, it has to do with the world being fucked up.

Over half the girls in my high school graduating class were pregnant or had children on graduation day. There are lots of reasons this happens. It's not just dumb Hoosiers with nothing better to do. And, I know good and well the only reason I wasn't in the mommy half was pure luck. The condom broke on me, it just wasn't my time to get preggers. I think the bottom line is, you have to have money to have sex without having a kid.

This so much as well. Birth control ain't cheap, that's for damn sure >:[ And a 16 year old girl being pressured by someone who is probably her first about how he doesn't like condoms probably doesn't even know how to put up a fight on that one.

It's not ridiculous, there are many studies that state the higher educated someone is, the less likely they are to have kids. If someone doesn't want to get pregnant they need to abstain or use birth control and sex ed needs to be taught. If parents aren't teaching the kids about sex, I find that neglectful parenting. I realize mistakes happen but multiple pregnancies? Ok, in some cases I get ONE mistake, but these women who keep having out of wedlock babies? That is plain stupidity.

I am tired of the media glorifying teen motherhood and tired of this problem. It is not something minor. Many of these kids grow up to repeat the pattern, end up in gangs or end up in prison. We need to show these kids why they need to make sure they don't get pregnant.

Btw, you can get free condoms at many clinics along with birth control.

Yeah, shaming teen mothers is a good way to fix things.

They need to learn (and the guy too)that this isn't all that they think it is and it is hard. Much better than telling them this is normal behavior we should condone because it isn't healthy. The amount of teen mothers and fathers out there is a problem. How to fix it? first off, stop glorifying it in the media. Second, teen sex ed. Also, push adoption more so these children get a chance to have a two parent family. Sure, some teen parents are good, but many aren't ready.

I lived in an area with plenty of teen moms so I know of what I speak. These girls saw nothing wrong with getting pregnant because they got welfare and had something (the baby)to love them. The teen dads often had multiple baby mommies.

Coincidentally, in the last week there has been editorials.and opinion pieces with a concurrent theme.

    Where have Men gone?

    They never grew up.

Women desire to be wanted. Men have to be needed.

Men are known by what the do, how much they provide..........................

A Man introduces himself by his Profession, not his Role. He is a President, Doctor, Scientist, Stevedore, a Ditch digger. His Role as a Father is assumed, because by his Profession, his Role as a Provider is judged.

A Boy does not become a Man because time passes, his balls drop, voice deepens, and his frame enlarges.;A Boy becomes a Man as he assumes Responsibility.

By what we make are We known.

I think this is part of the problem. Way too many women think fathers aren't important and they are.

I'm 44 and a grandma twice over. I married at 20 to the guy I met at 16, still married. My daughter with the 2 babies is also married. I only gave up stripping because I felt a bit silly doing it being a grandma, not that anyone knew. I still model. I have an education and my husband has a well paid management job. My dad was in a high level job answering to the Prime Minister of a country.

Thanks to all that commented on this thread i dont know how to do it individually.
I think the real problem is that SEX is the only temptation that is still free to teenagers and that sex education has totally failed.
We now have in the system so called career mothers who purposefully have kids to live off welfare and social housing so really who is to blame ? the gov, education, or perhaps even parents. Just some food for thought.

please link me to studies showing the more educated you are the less likely you'll have kids! This is bullshit. I know plenty of very educated doctor and lawyers male and female who wait until later in life to have kids due to school then career but I've never heard such utter bullshit!

There are plenty of studies online but you answered part of the reason why in your posts. More educated people wait later in life to have kids. Here's one article but there are others.

Personally, I wish everyone waited until they could afford kids. I realize accidents happen but am tired of paying for those who have multiple "accidents".

I have been really good about keeping my mouth shut when you make your ignorant comments, but honestly you have to be one of the most judgmental people on SW.

My favorite comment of yours is when you said you would only marry a Catholic who has not been married or had the marriage annulled AND does not have children because you wanted to get married in the church.

Haha! You have got to be the biggest hypocrite in the world (which I guess makes you an excellent Catholic)---what good Catholic boy is going to marry a 40+ year old stripper? Seriously, get over yourself. You wish you were "dumb" enough to have children young---instead of being a miserable, hypocritical, ignorant, single, lonely woman.

    You seriously make me sick.

No I do not regret having kids young. Children should not be brought into the world unless you can pay for them yourself. In my early dancing days I didn't want them even though I could afford them. No kids unless I am married and I always thought that way.

So what if I practice my religion now? Why do you care, since I have no interest in marrying you. Yes I will only marry a man who has never been married or has kids. Why would I want to date a man with kids? I'm not interested in paying for his kids, dealing with the ex, or the drama. No thanks. I am getting many responses so apparently they are open to dating me. I am not ashamed to be a stripper, why should I be since I never did anything illegal. Many men have no problems with marrying strippers because then no strippers would be married. If I was desperate to be married I would have years ago and yes I was asked.

And your other comments are just ignorant yourself and I will ignore them. If I'm so lonely as you think then why do I get hit on often? As for ignorant, nope not me since I never had children I couldn't afford. You seem to be obsessed with me and that is sad since I have no idea who you are so you must not be that exciting to me.

Oh and I'm no hypocrite. I'm not sure how I could be because I do not date divorced dads or being a stripper. I am opposed to having kids on welfare, and this is something everyone should be opposed to because it means I pay more. Being a stripper doesn't mean I support this.

I don't care I make you sick. If you don't like, don't read, but being a stripper doesn't mean supporting the welfare system or anything else. There are plenty of religious strippers.

Oh I know who you are---because it shocks me the things that come out of your mouth. I was ESPECIALLY shocked when I read about what a "great" Catholic you are that you would only entertain getting married in the church. FYI, as someone who went to Catholic school her whole life, if you told the church you were a stripper there is no way they would allow you to get married in it. You are a SINNER in their eyes. I am not saying it is right, but if you were such an upstanding Catholic, you wouldn't be swinging from a pole. Rules are rules. I'm just sayin'.

Seriously, Kelly---what guy that takes his faith seriously is going to be okay marrying a stripper. Quit kidding yourself for a second and look in the mirror. You really need to consider getting your holier-than-thou attitude in check. You are not Mother Teresa by any means.

With that being said, I had a baby at 18. He is/was the biggest blessing of my life. I am so thankful that God made me so "stupid" that I would be lucky enough to have such a gift. No, it was not ideal. But I made it work WITHOUT any type of government assistance (not that it matters either way). I am college educated. I own my own home. I probably have A LOT more money in my savings account than you. I LOVE my life. But I am really "stupid" because I had a child young.

I can guarantee that you are single because of the ugliness and judgment that you hold in your heart. I genuinely feel sorry for you.

Oh- and unlike you- I'm a mom. I bet you wish you were as stupid as I am---don't you?

That's funny because I told my priest I was a stripper. He said it didn't matter. So if he didn't think it was a big deal why should you? Btw I do not swing from poles but that doesn't matter. I am also a retired dancer for the most part so who cares what I did? I don't feel shame. Since I am pretty much retired I don't see why men would have a problem and in fact guys I've dated I have told and guess what? not one had a problem.

I have no holier than thou attitude, I just am tired of paying for those who have babies they know they can't afford instead of using birth control or better yet abstain.

***I should have quoted what you wrote before you went back and edited out where you referred to the children we "stupid" people are having as "freeloaders". Great Kelly. Go back to reading the lifewithoutbaby blog and passing judgment on people that have the one thing that you want the most.

No, those having babies on welfare and KEEP having babies are freeloaders. They shouldn't be doing that and yes I will pass judgement on them. There is birth control and there is abstinence. Teens should not be having kids, they are way too young and this IS a problem, which I will not back down from.

I have never heard of lifewithoutbaby before.

I am blunt about this issue. I have never supported this even when dancing and it doesn't make me a hypocrite. I knew better. Being a stripper doesn't mean I have to support certain things. I've known very conservative dancers, and no I was much liberal than them.
