Oh man! (((hugs)))
I'm glad there were no serious injuries, though it's a very traumatic thing even so. I hope your sis and her baby are well and that you can get things back to normal soon.

Sorry to hear that. 'm glad you and your family are ok.

Items can be replaced, people can't. Insurance will probably cover renovation of the kitchen and a new stove. Those fumes can still be very toxic days after the fire so hopefully your landlord's insurance company swoops in ASAP (I am assuming you rent) and your landlord is nice enough to temporarily relocate you while this all happens.
Ten years ago my mother was cooking for my brother in her apartment and was making deep fried french fries. After cooking she left the pot with the oil in it on the element which she forgot to turn off...that started a fire. Luckily it was just contained to the kitchen stove area and my family got out safely.
The landlord had to get the kitchen renovated, which was all covered under insurance. The only thing that was not covered was my mother's microwave and small kitchen appliances (toaster, coffee pot, etc).

So sorry to hear what happened.
I glad you and yours are safe and well.

Im sorry to hear princess.

Wow, I hope you're all doing okay. That's awful.
Gosh that is scary, but lucky no one was hurt![]()

Are you okay? I had 2 different "small" house fires in my lifetime. Those things are extremely scary, its not easy to put out a fire.
I am glad you are safe as well as your family..... Keep fire extinguishers around at all times, especially in the kitchen. Every one should learn to use a fire extinguisher, it saved my families life.
I glad you and your family are okay, that's always scary stuff!

Glad you are ok!!!!!

Oh hub I'm so glad you're ok! Sending you all my best wishes.
You'll be in my prayers.

Fucking internet disconnected, and I had a long ass post typed out. I should've copied and pasted it. LOL.
So yeah, I had been upstairs and heard my sis scream. I ran down, saw fire in the kitchen, and rushed the three kids (ages 8, 3, and 2-months old) outside. My nephew's like "I DON'T WANNA GO OUTSIDE!"Well you don't have a choice, lil' homie.....
Because my sister had actually been much closer to the fire than the rest of us, she was coughing a lot and having trouble breathing. They even said her nose hairs were signed, and the back of her mouth had soot in it. She had an oxygen mask and was taken to the hospital (along with her baby) to be looked over, and she came back home later that night. They were both fine.
Everything was fine with my son and nephew. My son was acting all goofy like nothing serious was even happening, and my nephew was like "Mommy keeps coughing?"
We were briefly without power, because when the firemen were messin with the electrical box it cut off some things (however the bedrooms and living room lights still worked).
Insurance is taking care of everything.
Oh, one thing...one of the firemen was kind of a dick. When it was just the fire truck outside, a neighbor had asked him "What about an ambulance?" and he snapped "Well no one asked for an ambulance over the phone!" *rolls eyes* Everyone's like "But you're SUPPOSED to have an ambulance come out here with the fire truck anyway!" LOL. Everyone was so helpful and concerned...it was sweet.
In fact, it was a neighbor (she and her husband are EMT) who ran over and put out the fire. She was wonderful.
Me and my sister are always complaining about having some nosey ass neighbors out here, but last night we were very grateful to have their help and concern. Very nice community here.
And thank YOU ladies for your concern! *HUGS*
Prior to this incident, a MFC regular had sent me an offline tip of 1,000 tokens! It wasn't until later that night that I had logged in and seen it, and it really lifted my mood.
Oh, and I had an MFC troll leave a message on my profile wall, making fun of the fact that my house had been on fire. He posted "BURN BABY BURN!" and "The roof is on fire" (quoting those old ass songs). I posted a pretty funny comeback, but you can't even see his post anymore...because when you add someone to your 'blocked from posting on wall' list (in 'Profile Settings') it goes back and deletes everything they've previously posted.
I'm like "Wow, dude, you're even on Kaileah's shitlist!" SMH. Calls himself King with six underscores right after it. LAME.
Anyway, I'm rambling. My stomach is growling, so I'm gonna eat. Thank you to all of you ladies for your concerned replies in this thread. *HUGS*
