Agreed that the gov't wants increased control of the internet. However, while the 'stated' reasons for this sound innocent enough ( like anti-terrorism ), the REAL reasons may be somewhat different ( like tracking financial transactions / taxes ).Accidently watched the 700 club the other night. FCC wants control over the internet to police it.
Arguably, the increased use of 'regional' servers is intended to both reduce total bandwidth costs and to improve website speed to the point where HD can be supported. After all, it makes no sense for an American camgirl to have to transmit her video stream all the way to Cyprus ( picking one example ), and the webcam host then having to retransmit her video stream all the way back to US customers, when a local 'north American' server could cut several thousand bandwidth-miles out of that round trip.I don't think that there is any reason to separate the site into multiple ones other than for bandwidth reasons....just saying that I just don't think its racist
However, from a tax / regulatory standpoint, a foreign based company operating a web server in America essentially becomes no different than an American based company doing the same.
'Dumping' the Asian web server will actually help MFC's bottom line and improve the odds that they won't be 'going anywhere'. However, the successful application of MFC's de-facto 'sales quotas' that was effectively applied to Asian camgirls, once the numbers are crunched and the reduced bandwidth bills translated into additional corporate profits, may very well spread quickly to other MFC camgirls worldwide. And undoubtedly other webcam hosts are also paying attention. So these de-facto 'sales quotas' may be the beginning of a major paradigm shift in the webcam industry - and especially so given the customer / competitive pressure to implement HD with its vastly higher bandwidth requirement ( and bandwidth bills ).Just to point out, a company shedding extra baggage that is not earning does not mean they are soon to be gone totally. Do you know how many off-shoots Disney has let go of over the years? I don't think they are going anywhere. Lol.
