Thumbs up Great news about OKPay :)

Just got an e-mail from OKpay.. they are making it easier for us! <3

Added flexibility should be appreciated by buyers and sellers alike:
Direct card payments allows Merchants to collect debit/credit card payments without requiring their customers to open an OKPAY account thus eliminating the complications while making a payment, Merchants and Buyers face.

OKPAY was set up to enable companies and websites to add a secure and trusted payment system to their business. At the same time, users will have a universal and the most conventional way of paying for products and services online - using debit/credit cards. Level 3 Merchants can enable direct credit card processing option in the Wallet "Payment Preferences" right away. While introducing direct card payments OKPAY is still offering linked card processing which is a 99% fraud-free secure payment option.

The new system is the best of both worlds; it allows Merchants to accept card payments from verified OKPAY customers as well as process direct debit/credit card payments from guests which will most likely prefer to open an OKPAY account if they become preferred customers.

I am a level 3 merchant, so this will be AWESOME ::beams::

I signed up under business... you can choose to keep your business info anonymous. I know JuliaLay had a screen shot of how her payment form looks in a thread about a month back.

But, this means I can accept Visa now without having to pay $750 to set it up, and the fees are so much better than using ccbill. Very excited!

Support is in UK.. so you'll only be able to get a hold of them early in the AM

Holy shit this is awesome. Ill look into this. Thanks so much for the feedback. Looks like I may finally get to send AlertPay a Dear John letter - all the other alternatives are subpar or gouge. A direct payment is awesome.

i'm super interested in okpay cause it seems you can have pay buttons on your site which is what i want soooo bad. & i don't wanna pay 700 dollars to accept visa (AKA be useful at all to me haha) for stupid ccbill. i will be riveted on this thread for a little while, keep us updated! can't wait to try it if opinions are fairly good.

I'm really not sure about this.. but I would definitely try to go for a business account, and make your business name just a random type of name or your cam name (I think depending on how you want to file taxes). On the payment form, it will say your business name, the description of the business (your words), your logo, and your website.

I think their whole ideal is that they can provide safe payments. Before, the only way to get paid was either through a verified, funded OKpay account, alertpay, moneybookers, cashu and a few other options.

It looks like they are taking a chance on high-risk vendors, but the funds will be on hold for 90 days. I'm thinking this may be sort of the catch. But, they are hoping that customers who use this service (OKPay) on a regular basis, will eventually sign up and become a verified member (which is good because as a verified member, they can send anonymous payments) therefore reducing the risks of charge backs and such. I could be totally wrong though. Perhaps we should send them an e-mail and tell them that the girls at Stripperweb would like a rep. to come to the boards and answer some questions.

I thought it may be helpful to post the OKpay sign-up process, and some tips for how I signed up:

    http://download.okpay.com/info/OKPAY...activation.pdf

    There are 3 Merchant Levels:

    Level 1:
    Level 1
Merchant will be enabled instantly when you will select a
“Seller” account type. You can only accept OKPAY e-currency
and some additional e-currencies. Payment links / buttons
generation service and IPN notifications are also available.
This level is perfect for a basic personal payment functionality, donations, etc

    Level 2
    Level 2
Merchant requires also a “Website Validation” and “Business
Information” steps to complete. Second level features support of all e-currencies, API functions, accepting payments on
your business name and listing in the OKPAY Business Directory.
This level is ideal for currency exchangers, freelancers and
various online businesses that do not want to accept credit
    cards.

    And Level 3
Merchant in addition to the Level 2 requirements you will also
need to complete “Personal/Business Questionnaire on Financial Activity” and “Business Practice” steps. This level is the essence of OKPAY Merchant Services. It features all the payment options available including credit cards, extended API functions, and bank transfers. It is perfect for
merchants, software vendors, financial institutions, etc.

The next step will be validating your site.. IF you cannot verify your site by .txt or meta tag- e-mail support.. they WILL help you. Most likely by having you send them an e-mail from [email protected].

Where it says Your Wallet Properties.. this is where you will put all ur business info. This is what will show on ur payment form.

Financial Activity Questionairre: The purpose of ur outgoing transactions will be to pay yourself. The funds will come from wallet earnings. The name and country of residence would be yourself.

Business Practice: Here it will say, "What measures do you use to prevent fraud?". The method that I use to prevent fraud is I have spending limits for new customers. I practice Know Your Customer, and when in doubt, I will only accept payments through another OKpay source (a valid okpay acct, alertpay, moneybookers, etc.). This is just an example. You should use whatever method is best for you.

Refund policy I put that there are no refunds unless in the event that I am not able to deliver services after they pay, in which case I will refund the money. Whatever your refund policy; it should be clearly outlined on your site.

After you've done the rest and submitted the application, it doesn't take long to become verified. I did have to contact support in order to get everything set up, but they were very helpful and friendly.. although it can take a couple hours of sitting on hold (skype) with support.

I have Okpay set up with my bank account, just need to put buttons on my site, but I'm looking through the site and it looks like I can't even withdraw money from there without paying $35 each time for a wire transfer. I don't do enough volume to justify paying that much.

Am I overlooking another way to withdraw from there? Thanks!

Ohmygod laurielegs, your signature quote made me laugh out loud! SEXY MONEY POKÉMON!!

Er, sorry, back on topic.. Thank you for all the information on this thread! I've been looking into doing camming through Skype but wasn't sure which payment service to use, I think this thread has convinced me. I've only just started though, so don't have a personal website and haven't even started thinking about taxes.. but I'll sort all that out in due time. I wonder about the "Terms of Service".. not quite sure what to write there! I'm going to look at AW's TOS (as I'm most active there) to see if I get any ideas, but any tips from you lovely ladies would be appreciated. Thanks again for all the great tips in here already!

Sorry I'm just seeing your question about the fees, Laurie..

If you get the debit card the fee is way cheaper. It is $3 to get the money from your wallet to your debit card. It costs 2% for atm withdrawals with a minimum of $3 and a ceiling of $15. Activation is free for merchants.. but they do charge you $15 for the card apparently for a delivery fee.

If you accept all major credit cards (level 3 merchant) they hold the money for 30 days and they also have a 180 rolling reserve of 10%-20% depending on whether or not you will only accept verified okpay customers or not. If your customer has funds already in their OKPay wallet and transfers the funds to your wallet.. then the fees are really good, and there's no hold or charge backs on those transactions.
