Thanks JD. I don't celebrate holidays. I thought texas for warm weather because new england is cold. We had snow on halloween!!! I have closer to two weeks around christmas. Is that a better investment? I was thinking going to Babydolls.

How much will it cost you to go then? I've worked at almost every single club in both Dallas and Ft Worth for the past six years off and on. I work 10 pm to 2 am, a slow night for me is $300, an average night is $500-$650, and a good night is over 1K, I have one of those about every 7-10 days. With that being said, from listening to other dancers, they are not doing that well, on average. To be honest, the ONLY reason I make that amount is because I have regulars, that's how you make money out here, build regulars, which is a huge pain in the ass.

I don't mind spending money to explore new places. I am used to NY hustle type of clubs. Isn't it usually busy around this time in TX cus of football?

I would look at the conventions going on down in the french quarter and go there instead.

Winters should still be decent in Nola. December's slow, but when I worked them (which was admittedly a few years back) everyone always said December was way slow but I still did normalish for me.

Depends on where you go, I work in a small town in East Texas, and the money is so so at best. Go to Dallas, Austin, Houston, or San Antonio. Better money there.

I definately want to try Dallas, that's how much Kayak quoted for (thousand). Even if I make even its the experience I want to try but kinda broke too (hard place and rock). I don't want to be where I am right now for the holidays!

If that price is round trip with hotel, I think you're looking more at breaking even. Maybe a little profit, but I'm not really seeing much during winter. I've always despised dancing in the winter here in Texas.

Of course, I haven't worked Dallas myself, so I'm not 100%.

There is no where in Texas that is particularly great in December. There are no big conventions in Houston...its playoffs for sports in Dallas/Houston/San Antonio...December is arguably one of the worst times of year to strip there. Unless you already live in Texas and have a car and a place to stay...the chances of you making back flight/hotel/taxi or car rental expenses are slim to none.

san antonio i would advise against, only because it's getting harder and harder here money wise. for football, try austin. PM me if you need any specifics and I can direct you to the proper club in terms of san antonio

Why would Austin be good for football? UT? Those football fans are students and families, the games are during the day on Saturdays. No pro football team.

Question is, why Texas? If you have a place to stay already and your own vehicle, I'd say go for it. But if you have to pay for hotel and rental car or taxis (no good public transport anywhere) then be prepared to do no more than break even.

In 99% of Texas clubs, you get $20 a dance, no VIP room or champ room prices, tipping is rarely done, even if you ask for it.

I am from New England, its cold. We had snow before halloween! I wanted to explore a new state. I don't mind taxis, but usually I hire a personal driver in states that have poor transportation systems. I am on fence if I want to turn back into fulltime dancing. I have several weeks off in the year, and I don't celebrate holidays (religous factors) and most of the time I have off is around then.

Tempest advised near her, but PA is cold too ;( I just want a warm place.

Texas isn't consistently warm during "winter" months. We have quite inconsistent weather so if you want a completely warm climate then somewhere like Florida would probably be better because here it does get cold & occasionally snows. (but that is very rare) Note: cold to a native texan might be warm to you. (temps in the 40s & 50s)

phoenix is right. Texas winters can range from 10 degrees to 90, often times in the span of a day. It's become fairly common in recent years that we'll get one or two light snows. Some times it's dry cold, which occasionally gives me terrible headaches and nose bleeds. Some times it's a wet cold that makes you feel a damp chill all the way to the bone and makes everything miserable. Ice can be a big issue on roads at times, especially when it's compounded with the wet. Because weather is so wonky, we even have an expression- "If you don't like it, wait an hour"

It might be warmer by comparison, but I've never met anyone that likes a Texas winter.

New england is probably just as bad. Everyday is a guess, its almost pointless to watch the weather report.

I been to Florida on vacation and didn't like how rushed people are to do everything. I felt like a needed another to recover from that vacation!

Particular days in the holiday season are good FOR THE CLUB.
For instance, my club banked on their Halloween celebration the Friday before the actual holiday. However, there were soooo many girls there that it was an average or even below-average night. All my friends were crying about it... I foresaw the dancer cramming and stayed home.
Houston is rough. I make a good living at my club, similar to JD in Dallas, but I work at the best club in town and am CONSTANTLY changing my schedule to see which days are worth it. Weekends used to have 60-80 girls; now weekdays have that many, while weekends have about 20-40. Money in this city, even in the good clubs, is iffy.

Also, Texas legislation is particularly damning to dancers-- vice likes to outright lie.

Sooo.... try somewhere else if you can. The northeast is totally different in the way clubs operate from what I hear.
    Good luck!
