    Default wireless cams

Hey girls, I'm trying to set up a live house with multipule cams in a couple rooms. I'm pulling my hair out trying to figure out how to get this to work. Its either run cords all over my place or wireless cams. Which brings me to my question, are wireless cams any good? I was wanting a cam in my bedroom and maybe a shower cam. thanks for any help you can provide.

If your using housecams on rude.com wireless cams do not work well, so you will have to use the wired cams.

^^^ as with every other aspect of streaming video, it's about 'bandwidth, bandwidth, bandwidth'.

There's nothing that inherently limits the bandwidth of a wireless camera ( or the wireless router it must transmit to ) to such a low level that the video resolution or frame rate cause webcam host software to hiccup. And indeed Cisco, Logitech and others do produce wireless cameras that are capable of supporting 720p HD ( more or less ) as well as high bandwidth wireless routers. But you're talking about a ~$300 investment for this level of performance.

In the under $100 wireless camera market, these cameras are primarily designed for simple video security and you're not going to get that level of performance. If you're careful, you can find 480p resolution on a $100 wireless camera.

If you plan on getting into multiple wireless cams, this brings in an additional level of cam switching software that may or may not be problematic in conjunction with webcam host streaming software.
