I'm considering participating in amateur night at a local dive club. I was just wondering what to expect. Anyone care to share their experience or describe a "typical" am night at your club?

Sorry if this is a repeat post girls! I couldn;'t really find anything when I did a search. I guess I just want to know what the "amateur" dancer does. At the club I'm going to (Yes, I'm definitely going to do it!) there is a $100 prize. I am guessing the audience chooses the winner based on a stage dance? I am also guessing the amateur dancers do not do any type of lap dances, etc.?
Thanks so much to anyone who is willing to reply!

I have only done one amateur contest, many years ago. It was at a club I wanted to work at and that was sort of how they did auditions. There were about 20 or so girls, they broke them up into groups of 4-5 at a time, about every 30 minutes or so (that way the house dancers would still be able to do stages.) All of the "contestants" waited upstairs then each girl went on stage for one song. They had the audience cheer who they liked best out of that group, then the winner of each group went on to the "final round". After the contest was over, management came out and spoke with the girls they wanted to hire, and we went in the office for paperwork etc. I don't think I actually worked that night (it was really late by the time it was over). So, no lap dances or anything, just a lot of waiting around away from customers lol. Hope that helps at least a little
Also, a really divey place I worked at for a while had amateur night every Saturday; for $10 anyone could walk in off the street and "work" for the night. Very few house dancers even stepped foot into that place on Saturdays. It was kind of scary. I think I may have blocked that out for a reason lol.

I think these are stupid unless they are willing to let you work the whole night. If they are .... participate . If not .... why get all ready for a chance to "maybe " get $100 ? I am against amateur nights and other " competition " nights though ( said it on this board many times ).
Just go work at a club and not fiddle the the amateur night.![]()

Amateur night at my club is really just a mass audition night. You come in, we check your ID. You fill out a cute questionnaire, dance one song onstage, if we like you we offer you a job.![]()
Thanks so much ladies! I am really just doing this for fun. I am 42 (age is just a number!) but I keep in shape and I can still bring it. I have wanted to try dancing for about the past 5 years. I thought amateur night would be a good way for me to try it...who knows? If I like it (and the club likes me) I might be the oldest newbie on the board! LOL
Thanks again for your replies!
