I guess when I started camming I thought there was a magic button I had to find, and I spent so much time looking for it that I found myself skipping past all the obvious steps to making money.
Why does it seems like some girls spend more time looking for ways to make money on the sly than just buckling down and making it through the sites that have been tried and true for years? They're looking for that magic button.
In the end, making money on cam for me is about
- identifying prime hours
- using a payment system that WORKS and is CONVENIENT (no matter their cut)
- keeping a regular schedule
- always looking for places to list my services to reach more clientele
- always looking for ways to expand my services offered
- being a good business partner with sites to ensure I retain their sponsorship
- answering messages, closing the deal, doing the show, rinse repeat
There's so many cam girls out there. From our room, to ourselves, we seem like the only one. We're not! Sites that are taking a cut of our earnings are doing it because they promote us. Stop fighting the system and start listening to it!
Just because a site exists doesn't mean it works for every cam girl. I've found that some sites just don't fit me, and by weeding them out of my schedule, I can focus on finding the ones that do work. This doesn't mean the site doesn't offer a good money making system. The giants .coms out there are giant for a reason, and following their business model *will* pay off. It's more a matter of what business model does each cam girl feel most comfortable with than which business model works.
I just had to say it. This post is a reply to numerous open threads all asking some sort of "where do I go, how do I do it, and why isn't it working?"
