Default Purchasing a Pole For Home Use

I tried searching this, but the keyword "pole" is too general and is in like every thread lol.

So I want to buy a high-quality non-spinning pole to use at home. I'm planning do tricks on it, so it needs to be a sturdy one... I guess one of those ones that screws into the ceiling?

Which brands & models do you recommend?

Why not an X-pole? It sounds cliche because you always hear about how awesome they are but they really live up to that raving reputation. They have a non spinning variation, the x-pole sport. The only beef I have with it is that it doesn't have a cover for the treading on the bottom, but that really isn't a part of the pole that is used too often. The carrying case for it sucks too, maybe you could negotiate for a nicer carrying case though=)

Platinum Stages! Their poles are made of stainless steel or brass, not a finish that rubs off like x pole.

You can do advanced tricks like flagging from tension mounted poles if they are properly installed.

Both x pole and platinum stages have static and spin modes.

I have an Xpole... that base at the top is really wide as opposed to alot of smaller bases . You really fell secure on your xpole and I can do all types of spins/tricks on it and the pole remains stable... Other bright side is that if you ever have taller ceiling you can order extensions. The Pole does have a spin mode which I've never used, I prefer to spin myself~!

I love my X-Pole. It can be put in static or spinning mode. My only complaint is that I can't install it with a vaulted ceiling however you can order the appropriate parts for that, also. So, not much of a complaint I guess.

X-poles are very sturdy and reliable. You can get one that goes into spin or static mode, which is what I have now. But I'm becoming disgusted with the chrome finish. So my personal suggestion would be to get a Platinum Stages pole - they can also spin or go into static, and come in stainless steel or brass, which are much easier to grip. If you want a more permanent pole, you could try Lil Mynx.

X-Pole has several finishes: chrome, stainless steel, brass and titanium gold.

do research and get the one you're most comfortable with. i have a star stand alone pole from platinum stages with a 3 foot extension. i like it a lot. i did talk to a girl from youtube (non-stripper) who got that and an x-pole, said she liked x-pole better.

I have a PS super pole, I love the stainless steel finish but my pole got stuck together and now I cannot add an extension piece even though I used wd40 (my new apt has higher ceilings). So my expensive pole is now useless! Btw I've also heard of this happening to other people.

With the x-pole, does it HAVE to be screwed to the ceiling??? I prefer that that ISN'T a requirement. And is the assembly process easily doable for just one person?

the x-pole specifically does NOT screw into the ceiling or floor.

^ Yep. I've moved three times now with it and everywhere I've had it it hasn't done any damage at all to floor or ceiling. It's really easy to put up and take down once you get the hang of it.

Hi! I'm Erica and I work at Platinum Stages.

We encourage anyone with a problem to give us a call and we'll do our best to help.

We have a one-year warranty, so if you have any major problems, we'll replace it for you no problem. But a lot of times, if you just call technical support, we can help you fix it right away.

Unlike other pole companies, we're a manufacturer so if there's ever an issue, we can remedy the situation right away.

And all of our products are made of real, genuine brass or real, genuine stainless steel - not coated.

We encourage your feedback so that we can always keep improving. :-)

You can give us a call at 1-866-85-POLES or you can email me directly at [email protected]

I'm here to answer any questions you might have about our products.

    Have a great day everyone.

    Thanks,

But can you still do poletricks then? I'd imagine it would be unsafe to do so if you do not screw it into the ceiling...

From the XPole site- What is the weight limit and/or how sturdy are the poles?

We do not have an official weight limit. We have set it up at high heights and have had 2 dancers (250+lbs) on a single X-Pert/Sport/Kendra and it has been completely secure!

The X-Pert/Sport/Kendra pole are professional grade poles that are VERY stable. You can do the most advanced move/tricks on them. If you set up any of the poles properly you literally cannot knock it down!!

^ I can vouch for this. We've had two girls on mine at once practicing two girl pole tricks, and a few of my bigger male friends have screwed around on it. It's always been super stable and safe.
