Default What would you think of a mask for stage?

I will be going back to work after I have my baby. And Unfortunetly I have family that go into the strip clubs where I live. And not to many big towns around with clubs as good as these. So I had a question for you all if you were a customer what would you think if the girl doing her stage wore a pretty mardi gras mask? Like something thats really feminine and cover half the face so they arent as noticable ( like if someone they know comes in) But it was only for the stages. Would you still tip her and find it kinda a mystery? A lil sexy? I just want some input to c what you guys would think please even if it sounds stupid to you dont be mean or rude ( if you find yourself wanting to be that way than dont answer please..) I dont mind honest opinions.

    Ridiculous and no.

Are you going to wear the mask all the time? No....

I once worked with a girl who wore a gas mask....she did alright with it.

Idk...it could work. I mean, I see how it could. But I sure wouldn't be brave enough.

I actually think you could pull this off if you went with a Catwoman theme. Maybe even have a whip. It would make you stand out, that's for sure. I suspect that the guys would be cooler with this than the other girls. My guess is that most of your complaints and criticism would come from your fellow dancers, because it's sort of like you're unwilling to bare it all, so to speak, the way the rest of them are. The guys might actually like it IF the mask made sense given your costume. Just a random Mardi Gras mask would seem a bit strange.

This is a very useful post. Im all about costumes and having mystery. I love the idea of the catwoman and the whip. Your post is good and insightful. I like to use props that can tease. I look at someone who does this would be creative. If you ask me creativness stands out. Its hard to see people scared to try new things. When I go back to work I plan on having a belly dance routine with the outfit as well as well as a burlesque kinda routine.I personally feel that if you go on the stage with the same routine people grow tired of it. When I perform I like to change it up with every stage. Like at my old club I started the yeti boots style( just for that club). Than all the other girls started wearing them and I stopped. lol. But I had seen them on a dancer when I was out of town.

It would be a gimmicky turnoff to me.

And what would you do when you need to work the room in order to sell dances? Would you keep it on? Idk, but you might have a hard time selling dances if you are walking around in a mask all night.

    Anyway, just my two cents.

O no It would just be for stages. Wouldnt be worn during lap dances or working the floor.

I believe that whether or not i liked the mask would depend on how hot i thought your body and stage show was.

I just laughed so much at this.
I'm confused - you think your family sit and watch the stage but never sit anywhere else in the club?

When I've bumped into people I know its always at the bar in the lap dance area... They've never been sat around the stage area.

I'm pretty sure since a lot of clubs require full nudity on stage they're not going to be too happy with you hiding your face. It's all part of the deal.

    This seems silly to me.

Why not wear a quality wig and do your makeup differently than you do it at home?

Well actually my old club isnt fully nude. And they would accept it. And to state again It was just a question I asked is all. My mans stepdad and friends dont get lapdances or hang around the bar. They take advantage of being waited on and occasionally go to tip rail. But otherwise they watch. Im not from a huge city so I dont know what your club is like. From what it sounds urs may be stricter and also prolly bussier and better than the ones around here. I mean buisness is good. I just dont want my man to lose his kid on account of me dancing because we want to get extra money to get into a house and pay off my loans. My fiancees old gf is mean and will try to take his son even though we have it more together than her. I would go out of town to dance but not many good clubs around from my town. So Im just trying to improvise is all.

A mask will draw MORE attention to you while you're on stage and cause people to examine you closely when they may not have otherwise. And NOT in a good way.

    I like the wig idea.

Yup, I've run into people I know out on the floor, fortunately never onstage.

Long blonde hair extension and fake eyelashes go a long way. But if you have telling tattoos or the town is REALLY small, then you're going to get busted and that's just the risk you take.

I actually think its a great idea. It's all about the Fantasy, and is that not what the art of Striptease is? I try to remind the Ladies I work with that they are providing a Fantasy for their customers, and the more they can change things up the greater potential they have to expand their customer base. I say go for it, but as a previous post stated, make it a full gimmick. Best of luck, keep us posted.

IMO unless you are doing a feature show or a burlesque routine then it may look VERY out of place or odd on a SC stage (as others have pointed out-it could make you look more noticeable & not in a good way). A wig might be a less extreme solution. Having said that, is it worth the risk for you? If not, then it may just be better for your peace of mind to travel & work somewhere else near by. You could cam or work for an agency i.e. private parties/functions; stripping, lingerie/topless waitressing etc etc. It would be stressful to work with the fear of possibly "being caught out" by a relative constantly in the back of your mind.

I might need J.D. to confirm this for me, but I think there's a girl at Babydolls in Dallas who did this and called herself "Mystery". She's also the laughing stock of the club.

Well just because some people dont have open minds and choose to be judgemental doesnt mean that it gives them the right to make fun of the girl. I dont see them up on stage dancing or doing half the stuff these girls do. So where is it right for them to make the girls doing this feel bad because of a descision they chose make. Everyone is allowed to make mistakes but where is it right that we help make those mistakes more humiliating for them? Im just saying is all.

Forget the mask. If someone recognizes you and does not approve, what was he doing in a strip club?
