I'm still a complete newb and I think I made a really dumb newb mistake last night.
Bear with me:
A new dancer (dancer A) asked me for change for a $20 and I didn't mind because I wanted to unload some of the $1 bills bloating my purse. This was right before the end of my shift - I was busy tipping out. Anyway, I didn't want to unload all my cash on the bar in front of custies and other girls (I hadn't had time to unfold and sort my money yet - it was crumpled and folded and bunched together because I just shove it in during my shift and wait til I get a moment to go and count and sort it).
I also didn't want to go all the way back to the DR and said let's just go into the restroom (it was much closer) to change out her $20 bill. We went in and very innocently I'm digging in my purse to get her some $5 and $1's when another dancer walks (dancer B) in. She's a bit of a bitch and trouble maker who I try to steer clear of as much as possible. She chit-chats while we're changing out the money. As we're ready to leave the restroom, dancer B pulls me aside all sugary sweet and giggly and whispers "Are you guys doing coke?"
I felt like such an idiot. Afterwards I told dancer A what dancer B said and we both went to the manager right away and told him we were just changing out a $20 bill - just in case bitchy dancer B decides to start a rumor-mill. In retrospect I realized that I should have just gone to the DR or told the other dancer to get change from the bar. Live and learn.
Did I handle this right? How would you have handled this situation?
Thanks, and feeling like an idiot.![]()
